First time trying PolloXpress for a school PTA fundraiser. It's located where Backyard Rotisserie is in the shopping center where Food Lion used to be. We ordered: 1/4 chicken (white) w/fries and rice, 1/4 chicken (dark) w/rice and salad, Spicy Aloha Cheeseburger and a kids cheese quesadilla. They did mistakenly give us a white meat instead of a dark meat, but no biggie. The meat was moist and tender. The yellow sauce is tasty with a garlic flavor. The crinkle cut fries are generously seasoned and super crispy. The burger was a double patty with pineapple, jalepenos and teriyaki sauce on a brioche bun. Super delicious. Also, I'm not sure what kind of salad dressing it is, but I really liked it! I was pretty impressed with this place and the prices are pretty average. read more

Rude owner. Checked out employees. Bland barely seasoned burger meat. There are so many better Peruvian chicken options in nova. Don't bother wasting your time or money at this place. Tried this place more then once and was reminded why I would never go again. Bad service and even worse food.

I read a post on the Nova subReddit about the best burgers in the area and one of the top comments was this place. It had a bunch of people replying with how good the burgers were here despite it being a Peruvian Chicken joint. I went in a lil hesitant but maaaaaan were those Reddit folks on point! This place was amazing. The burger was everything I was hoping, specially the meat. It was juicy and perfectly cooked. I also tried the chicken and it was really good but what I really loved was the Yuca and the green n yellow sauce. Best Peruvian yellow sauce (whatever that stuff is) I've ever had. I highly recommend this place. I live up the street so I'm going to coming back regularly. read more

No wonder everyone is writing a bad review! I order chicken sandwiches from DoorDash, there was a deal for buy one get one free and there was option to get grilled chicken instead of fried chicken. So the calls me and tells me I can't do grilled chicken, I said it was an option so I ordered it, then you should not advertise this online, that's false advertising, the he goes like it's buy one get one free we can't do that. So you can do it for the regular sandwich but the deal you put it out there, you're not going to honored. I'm not surprised with all these reviews. I don't think I'll be ordering from this place anymore. False advertising can leads to sue, if the owner is looking at the review. read more

Basically you get what you paid for, food it's not bad, they do give a lot of food for the price but honestly do not advertise this as Peruvian chicken when what you give is a grocery store rotisserie chicken taste like. Not terrible food, just very disappointed since I didn't got what i was expecting. read more

The food is outstanding! We usually order the 1/2 chicken and almost always have leftovers. The service is good and the staff is nice. It's clean and they're always playing music. My kids usually enjoy eating there. read more

Half chicken. it was all white did not ask for all white. typically the most amazing thing about Peruvian chicken or pollo a la brasa is it's deep seasoning that comes from marinading. this chicken tasted like it had no seasoning at all. similarly the rice was not seasoned and was undercooked. the charro beans are supposed to be spicy and they were not at all spicy once again little or no seasoning. very disappointed. I should have called and complained but why bother? I'll just vote with my feet and wallet. read more

There is a convenience fee tacked onto every order of $1.50. With that said, the food is tasty.

Be careful. This restaurant is a rip off. WE ordered whole chicken and sides and the total was 30.95 WE order online , it charged us convenience fee 1.50 Then our credit card was charged differently , i found out it was charge a $1 extra. I called and asked them and they said it was convenience fee. I asked then what is the $1.50 convenience fee on the receipt , they said they don't know and said it is our credit card issue. Iti is not a big deal of just $1 but i hated when someone tried to rip off and take no responsibility. I called my credit card and they said the restaurant actually entered $1 extra. Imagine everyone comes in and they charge a $1 dollar extra and said it is a convenience fee of using credit card .. I hate it... If they really want TIPS for a pickup TOGO then just said so. I am gladly to donate $1 but don't try to cheat and charge few dollars without people knowing. NEVER TRUST this restaurant. BTW, the food is awful....i have not ordered for awhile before pandemic and it looks like they changed the owner. It sucks ! read more

I even ran short on my count (worse nightmare) Carlos handled with such great care..told me no problem ran back to the shop and within 20 minutes brought me additional lunches... To start with the good, the garlic parm fries are tasty! That's about all the good I have to say. We were missing an item from our order, and we called back to see if we could either get the item or receive a refund. After the situation was explained, the man who answered the phone said we had the burrito because the uber driver was given two bags. We explained that we got both bags and checked all the boxes inside, and there was no burrito. He said "I know it's there because I packed it myself." He accused my fiancé of lying about the food being missing because he 'remembered' packing it, but he also confused us for another uber order when we were first explaining the problem. He laughed it off when we explained that our food was missing and we checked everything and said he'd call uber to get us a credit. With this rudeness and attitude, I doubt we'll receive that. Please do not eat here, I'm sure there are better garlic parm fries with better service elsewhere. read more

Been going to backyard rotisserie for years and when we learned that it was going away, we were sad. Tried Pollo Express the first time not to long ago and it was okay. Just tried it the second time and I'm utterly disappointed. Not only does the burgers not come with fries anymore but the whole chicken meal doesn't come with the salads too. What's even worst is that when we ordered the Mac and cheese, it was KRAFTS MAC AND CHEESE. Literally Krafts mac and cheese with some shredded cheese on top. I could've made Mac and cheese better than that. The chicken was drier than before and the prices of everything went up. Very disappointed and will not be going back again. read more

Quality of the food is not as good as the previous owner. Backyard grill was way better. The chicken at Pollo Xpress was dry and the fries were not that great. I'm utterly disappointed and I will always miss backyard grill. I've been eating rotisserie for so many years but I will never go back to Pollo Xpress. read more

The guy with spiky hair, not sure if he's the new owner of Pollo Xpress but I'll tell you what he is, a rude, stubborn liar. I called in my order for a fajita wrap and asked for fries with ketchup and mayo as well (in that order). When I get there I ask the guy is there ketchup and mayo in there and he looks me dead in the eyes and says yes. I go to my car, something tells me to check the bag and I see ketchup packets , but no mayo. I go back in and tell him there's no mayo and he says to me , "did you taste it?" I'm like what do you mean . Apparently his story is that he put ketchup and mayo IN my wrap because when I called in I didn't say I wanted it on the side . So he tells me I'm wrong and I need to say on the side next time. Never had I had to say I wanted ketchup and mayo "on the side".....not any establishment ! Not McDonalds, not BK, not Wendy's , not Chic Fil A, Not ANYWHERE because obviously anybody in their right mind knows it's for the fries ! Who wants to eat dry fries!!!!? On top of it all I get back to work to eat my lunch and come to find out the "story" he told me that he put ketchup and mayo in my wrap , wasn't even true. I opened them up and not one trace of mayo or ketchup just sour cream. It's one thing if we had a misunderstanding, but he just flat out lied because he didn't want to admit he was wrong and forgot to give me mayo. Not sure who this guy is but he is rude and needs to understand that when someone asks for ketchup and mayo they're obviously for the fries not for a chicken wrap and doesn't have to lie. Never had an issue with Backyard Rotisserie (except they charged for mayo which is absolutely ridiculous).......but man I would rather have them back then this new establishment.
