Tostones Con Guacamole y Chicharron / Green Plantain with Guacamole And Pork
    Marilu S.

Everything about this restaurant was incredible! I dined here with my boyfriend on a Friday night. The appetizer tostones con guacamole y chicharron was delicious. We also ordered a refajo (It's a traditional Colombian cocktail made with beer and "Colombiana", which is a soda from Colombia. It is a very simple and quick recipe but refreshing) I wanted to try their chicken and boy oh boy their chicken was so flavorful. I definitely recommend their roasted chicken. My boyfriend and I shared the bandeja paisa which is a typical Colombian dish. It was so filling; everything on that plate tasted good. I really liked the beans and the chicharron; the chicharron wasn't hard to chew which I have experienced before at other Colombian restaurants. It was a lively restaurant experience, there were a good amount of tables filled up and as our main entree arrived I realized it was because the Colombian soccer team had a game going on at the time I was dining at the restaurant. Great restaurant to watch a soccer game over some yummy food. The service from the staff was friendly and the ambiance was top notch. The restaurant went wild when the Colombian soccer team scored. All in all, this is an amazing restaurant. 10/10 experience and restaurant recommendation

Went to this restaurant for dinner. We were a party of 6. The service was not very good The waitress seemed a bit distressed with the number of people in the restaurant at the time. Her energy affected my experience and impression of the restaurant. Our meal was OK but took long to be served. Some of our meals were not freshly made. The tostones were hard. The chicken was OK. Place is located on a main street in college point. Bus service near and street parking outside.

Beautiful place. Servers are nice. Had my birthday lunch there. They serenaded me. What a special day. I love their chicken soup.

Sweet plantains with queso and guava sauce. Best thing I've tasted in a long time.

Omg. One of the best meals I had in Queens. Perfect little restaurant. Mainly Spanish speaking but very patient to take your order. Our food was scrumptious. Fresh. Even got free coffees at the end.

Food & Favorites: I mainly come for the empanadas, which have a nice variety of flavors, from classic to more experimental options, all of which are still really good. They also offer some solid platters, and the sweet plantains (maduros) are a favorite for me! Overall Experience: A great spot with delicious food and a relaxed atmosphere, making it a go-to place for a satisfying meal.

Again the best one I've ever had. Sweet, fresh and the juxtaposition of seasoning to meat and cheese and plantsin was beyond delicious. They also have good Columbian sodas. The apple and cola weren't overly sweet. The pork chicharon ceviche was again the best I've ever tasted. The chicharon here is impeccable. The onions weren't soggy and weren't potent. The blended well with the citrus and chicharon. The bandeja paisa was outstanding. Every protein was cooked perfectly. We ordered steaks that were juicy. The veggies amazing. The cgar grilled tasted yes. Theres an onion and tomato side I could eat plates with the rice. Thats how good it was. The guava and apple empanadas were like fall in the mouth. Well be back. Everything else was phenomenal too. Mango, chicken. Xoxo.

The restaurant itself is beautiful, and one of the servers (a young lady) was very attentive and on top of everything. Unfortunately, the service from another server was disappointing. I've been in the hospitality industry for over 25 years, and I quickly noticed some concerning practices: * He added a tip to my first check without clearly mentioning it, then took the check away very quickly. Later he returned with another receipt asking for additional tips, which could easily trick guests into tipping twice if they aren't paying close attention. * He was bussing tables and serving food without gloves, and I did not see him wash his hands before handling plates. That's a serious sanitation issue that could make someone sick. This place really needs a manager or supervisor keeping a closer eye on staff, because experiences like this can take away from how great the food is. Overall -- excellent food, but service and hygiene practices need serious improvement.

I ordered their picada for one with had a reasonable amount of meat, chicken, chorizo, morcilla and chicharrón. Everything was cooked to perfection. I ordered a beer and a Colombiana to make my own refajo which was refreshing. The service was ok, I feel like I had to keep flagging down the waiter for anything. My friend did not really like her margarita but did enjoy her food. I would come for a picada again and a beer.

Whoever the business developers are, they took this overgrown grassy lot that's been vacant for the last 40 or so odd years and built a multi-business structure from scratch and Seafood M. dove in deep with it. I'll truthfully credit this find to my daughter- who, on her recent Holiday visit staying with Grandma, found this place on a whim. I jumped on it too days later. The first 2 dishes my kid got were the steamed AND seasoned Crab Legs+veggies and a steamed shrimp platter for my mom. According to her, my kid devoured the crab legs- which were perfectly steamed without making the shells soft. And my Mom's steamed Shrimp platter had a considerable amount of plump shrimp with a light seasoning that didn't overpower the seafood. On my recent trip though, I picked up the 3 piece Catfish-only meal and the 4 piece Whiting (the owner actually threw in like one or two pieces in there- thank you!). Both delicious. I may not be Southern, but I know a good dredge on fried fish when I see it and taste it. Renée(sp?) the owner- uses a fantastic and light that holds its own and doesn't crack into dust. The space may seem untidy- so don't come here for looks. Just come for the food. But, Renée has a great thing going and at 3 years strong, she's creating a sense of community and flare when Soundview never had a stand-alone fried fish/fish market spot. Wishing you much more success.
