The other diners around us were very friendly as well so good hang out vibes here. Service was very friendly and attentive. The menu is still quite a few pages and lots to read, which is why I partly enjoy coming here. And each time is guaranteed a great value. This visit I had the Bandeja Tipica. It's one of the classics. My friends also ordered similarly... But their entrees came with fries and they added a quarter chicken as well. The sour sop is my go to drink and it's not overly sweet. Mixed with water and it was really good. I was so tempted to order more food to go, just for the next day but it was pouring rain so I was lazy, didn't want to schelp a bag. The Bandeja Tipica entree was really filling. I had half my Maduro, about half of my chiccaron and 1/3 of my steak. Of course I finished my egg, avocado, and the rice and beans... So much food!! I have been dining at this wonderful family location for over 24 years and I totally enjoyed the food and services here. They have two locations in Queens, NYC and I absolutely appreciate both of them. I confidently can say they served the most delicious Colombian food. I may be a little boring, but I always get the same entree every time I visit. I'm a sucker for their chicken cutlet served with salad, rice and beans. Oh Ghosh , the food is served in such large portion. I like sitting by the trees sipping on red sangria as a starter before my meal arrives. Orlando and Dana were friendly and helped to make sure I had everything for my pick-up order. Food (4/5): I ordered the Typical Platter which is a platter of grilled steak, pork belly, rice, beans, egg, sweet plantain, avocado, and corn cake. The grilled steak was alright and pork belly was amazing! Great flavor and perfect saltiness. The egg is cooked over easy and complements well with the beans and rice. What makes Jackson Heights boring is you will find Colombian restaurants or bakeries serving the same typical dishes within each block , the only difference is to check if the food served is bland or too salty and portion size. My go to when I crave Colombian food is Pollo Mario 83 the majority of my meals are Bandeja Campesina for carry out which is probably why I always get inaccurate food. The first time they forgot to include the avocado or the missing soup order and the sweet plantain is mostly not ripe enough , raw and undercooked. The chicharron is very meaty very nice and sometimes it's not . As for the service this restaurant lacks quality control , they have been operating this business many years you would think they knew what they were doing, I get the feeling they hold grudges when you offer them constructive feedback it's like they want you to practice the "you should turn the other cheek" culture but meanwhile I'm paying to eat for their lousy food read more

The food is always good here and deserves a four star. The reason for the two is , for the second time that I've ordered from them using Grubhub, and have requested a delivery time latter in the day, they ignore the request and deliver asap. They are obviously not looking at the order sheet. By chance I was home today for the delivery but If I had been out there would have been no one to accept the order. While I plan to order from them again, its only going to be just before I want the delivery and no more plan a head orders when it comes to this store which will take them off my order a head list of stores. No excuses for this , they need to be more careful with their orders. Today, my mom and I dined at Pollos Marios, located at 83rd Street and 37th Avenue in Jackson Heights. Unfortunately, both of our meal choices did not meet expectations. I ordered the "Milanesa de Res," which is a breaded top round steak, while my mom chose the Albondigas, a meatball soup. Regrettably, both dishes had a taste reminiscent of old leftovers. This experience was particularly disappointing for us, as we have been loyal customers since childhood, regularly enjoying their food. When you dine out you expect fresh, quality meals, and the experience fell short of that expectation. It was good quality Colombian food with huge portions, and since it was the pandemic, I ordered the food to go and it held up well. The food: Cazuela de Mariscos- Seafood combination casserole served with rice and french fries. This soup really hit the spot, it kinda felt like a thinner clam chowder consistency but there was a ton of seafood in this. The soup had shrimp, baby scallops, clams and octopus and it was a good size for 2-3 people. I really liked this soup because the flavors were great and it wasn't as heavy as it appeared, I thought it was going to be like a really heavy like I was drinking Alfredo sauce but it was actually pretty light. I thought the seafood was cooked well and the overall flavor was nice. Churrasco- Grilled sirloin steak served with rice, salad, french fries and chimichurri. If I want good Colombian food I almost always order or go to any one of the Pollos Mario locations in Jackson Heights. This one just happens to be my favorite because I love the authentic interior. I came here to eat breakfast and I ordered the huevos rancheros and I asked prior to ordering whether there was any meat in the meal and I was told that there wasn't. After ordering and eating most of my meal, I noticed that I bit something hard in the beans and I realized that it was a bone. I then called over the waitress and I asked if there was any meat in the beans. She said there was no meat but that there was pork. Yeah, she really said this. Needless to say, I became very upset and demanded a full refund for my meal. Not only did the restaurant not grant me a refund but the waitress acted in a negligent, callous way which is the opposite of whatever customer service is supposed to be. I have been a vegetarian for over two years for both personal and spiritual reasons. And today, I was celebrating an important occasion in my life which you guys ruined. I will be filing a lawsuit for emotional damages due to negligence on your part. I will never again be a patron of your business and I will try to skew everyone toward Cositas Ricas, Seba Seba and/or basically any other restaurant nearby. I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. Having eaten at many (and I mean many) Colombian restaurants , this one somehow stuck out to me. The scene is very casual. It is a sports bar/restaurant with multiple TVs and plenty of space. I went with a group of friends and we shared camarones de criollo (shrimp with a tomato based sauce) and camarones with a garlic sauce. We had different sides ranging from Maduros (sweet plantains), white rice, yellow rice, black beans and red beans. All were delicious. The dessert of tres leches was also AMAZING! This dessert - can I just tell you- had the perfect combination of sweet frosting sitting on an ever so moist, creamy and milky cake. It was LITERALLY the perfect consistency. *would go back just to eat the cake* In regards to drinks we ordered three or four rounds of passion fruit mojitos (maracuja flavor). We honestly kept the rounds coming because they were so good. This place gives the other two Colombian restaurants a run for their money. I would certainly not hesitate to eat there again. I was put on hold for over two minutes when I called to order food to be delivered. It took an hour and a half for the food to be delivered. I ordered three things; only two came. The food was cold. The sweet plantains were burnt to a crisp and rubbery. We used to order from this place pretty often in the past and it used to be really good. I can say that today will be the last time I ever order from this restaurant. I am saddened and disappointed that one of my favorite restaurants has changed so drastically, for the worse, in such a short period of time. read more
