Four stars at Polly's? Food quality was surprisingly good! Lumberjack portions with plenty of sides. But what was most impressive about our lunch was our waitress. Can't believe not one of us (4 adults, 2 kids) caught her name. She was uber patient with our gazillion requests for water, juice, chocolate milk, another chocolate milk, more Cholula, more plates, extra cinnamon roll, fruit, coffee, etc., etc. We were probably her most unorganized and indecisive customers today. The staff is super nice and the service is great. Randy and Theresa are the managers and they help the servers run food out to the tables. They are friendly and care about there staff and customers. I've lived in the valley for 30 years. My family and I would always frequent Polly's Pies. LOVED IT! But man, this past year- it's been DISGUSTING!!! We went a couple weeks ago for breakfast. My favorite is scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and breakfast potatoes. The eggs were runny, bacon was floppy and the breakfast potatoes were not only basically RAW, they had ZERO bell pepper and onion as they typically do. I decided to deal with the eggs, but asked that the bacon be made a bit more crispy and possibly some COOKED potatoes. 5 minutes later I was brought the same bacon, obviously microwaved to death. I didn't even bring it home to my dog is was so awful. I'm not one to complain, so I just bit the bullet and thought the cook wasn't on his A game. Well, went back today, scared to order breakfast, I ordered chicken tenders and fries from the kids menu. The chicken was so overdone, I couldn't even bit through it. The fries were cold and the bbq sauce was coagulated. BARF! I officially have written off Polly's. Not even giving them a 3rd strike. From here on out I'll give my business to Oryz. Looking for a place that had decent food and found this one. We were seated right away where we wanted. We were given menus and took our drinks request. Server was friendly and prompt. Had a pretty good selection for everyday things. Did not have much in the healthy side, just good home cook in' stuff. My meal was good and so was everybody else's. Horrible horrible customer service. Called the phone several times to place an order or just to simply speak to an associate, not one answered I called at least 10 times!!! I recently went to Polly's Pies Restaurant, the atmosphere made me feel like I was in a cafeteria. And the air quality smelt like urine. I ordered a hamburger off the menu I asked for well done but in the end result, I got a lump of medium-rare looking meat. I did enjoy that the employees were trying to please me. Employees have bad attitudes. Went to buy 2 cinnamon rolls and it was 8:00 am the lady told me that I couldn't buy them from the bakery it was only for people who dinned in and ate with a bad attitude. So I went home to my boyfriend and he called and asked if they could sell them in bakery and a gentleman told him yes he could and that they had over a dozen left. But if not having to deal with the ones with attitudes it's a great place just need more room to cramped inside the dinning area. read more

Polly's Pies' manager is too busy to bother with adding gluten-free products to their menu. Although they sell Red Mill products, they can't seem to get any of their fine, gluten-free, flours. We've asked many times, and even brought in a menu from another coffee shop that features gluten-free products, but Polly's is just a big ol' stick in the mud. Nevermind, Polly's!! So my fiancee and I came back here to give it another try. This time we went during dinner hours. As we all know, dinner is the busiest time, which happens to be one of the best times to see how well the waitress and staff works. We ordered something simple, nothing too extravagant. After all, we gotta make room for dessert. We got fish and chips as well as chicken tenders. Cornbread and dinner rolls came first as it came along with our meal. The cornbread was fluffy, not too sweet, and still hot upon arrival. I usually prefer top have pieces of corn in it but this was just as fine on its own. Liked it so much that I ate it pretty quick. My fiancee giggled while eating his dinner rolls. I wasn't sure until I tried it myself. I ended up giggling myself to find out that it tasted just like the Filipino bread, Pandesal (if you never had it, go to the nearest Asian store and get some and you'll see what I mean). While eating the rolls, it certainly made us reminisce our home in the Philippines. Then the main course arrived. The fish were HUGE. I began to wonder if I could finish it all in one sitting. I first tried it without the lemon. Oh how it was crunchy, fish flaky, good amount of breading. It tasted even better with the lemon. Then I tried the tartar sauce. Now I'm really not a fan of tartar sauce. It just always tasted funky for some reason to me. But I gave it a shot. Omg was it yummy! And also even better with lemon (yes I like lemon juice that much). The side coleslaw was great and not drowning in dressing like other places I've been to. Now the chicken tenders. We were a bit worrisome because it didn't have much of a nice brown look to it. But once biting into it, it had its crunch factor while still being moist. Tasted great with the house BBQ sauce. Liked the slight sweetness to it. It was nice to see the side fresh fruits was bigger than what I previously had. Now onto the dessert. We decided on the pumpkin pie. I was surprised as to how much whipped cream was onto of just one piece. The pumpkin was well seasoned, not heavy on the spice. Had the south texture as it should. The crust was flaky with the hint of butter. The whipped cream was light and airy. I almost wanted to ask for a bit of additional pie just for us to finish the cream. Now about the service. We got seated in less than 5 minutes. The booth was clean. Our server was very sweet and told us what the special was. I had ordered hot tea. She was nice enough to bring out the box of tea and let me choose. Upon choosing, she allowed me to take 2. My fiancee got the Arnold Palmer. Lots of sweet and delicious strawberries in it. The downfall was that the water was actually lukewarm. I didn't bother in asking for hot water due to the kind of tea I had chosen. Our server often checked up on us, asking if needed anything and if the food is to our liking (which of course it was). She was even nice enough to give my fiancee another drink without the need of us along, which meant that she was attentive to detail even upon her passing by. Then once we were done, it didn't take her very long to notice that we needed our check. I wanted to leave her tip for being a wonderful waitress, but no cash on hand. At the cashier, it was a good thing that the manager was around because the girl behind the counter was having issues inputting the gift card number (no scanner, but probably should to be more convenient) and making sure the correct balance on the card was correct (first time it showed a balance for me to pay when the balance of what we ate was about $4 less than the amount on the card. But luckily enough the manager was able to fix it in a short amount of time. Overall we were well satisfied and glad to have given this place another try. The best Polly's ever! Awesome service and great tasting food! Believe me when I say this: management knows what they're doing! Although it was jam packed the service and food wasn't lacking. We had the Polly Burger and it was juicy and fresh. The lettuce was crisp and the tomatoes were thick sliced and perfectly ripe. The fries were golden brown and hot! My wife and I eat @ Polly'sPies at least 2 to 3 nights a week and REALLY enjoy their food and atmosphere(friendly waitresses/staff). Our fave waitress is Tilly..who always has a great disposition and is fun to talk to and tease. We are a retired couple and enjoy her service(excellant) and conversation. Since Hemet used to be a "retirement community",there are still those that think when a cheerful waitress teases a loyal customer,they are being unrespectful...noth farther from the truth...eat you great meal and stop evesdropping. Mediocre service and food that is just ok. If a friend says let's go to Polly's, I will always say ok, but I will never suggest it as a place to go. The tacky wallpaper is very appropriate for the restaurant. The price is pretty average, so no complaints there. They do have flavored creamer so they get a big thumbs up for that. read more

My boyfriend and I came here the other night. Good customer service. Hot yummy coffee pairs well with a slice of the hot apple crisp pie with some cold vanilla ice cream on the side. Ordered a strawberry banana cream pie on Saturday night, cut a slice the following day it was already brown and slimy... Called and spoke to manager who told me that's how bananas work. I bake and my pies don't go brown right the next day. The so called manager was arguing instead of trying to fix the issue, after about 5 minutes of pointless conversation she offered for me to take the pie back and they would give me credit! I don't live around the corner, I offered to send her pictures she de lined states I would need to return the pie. Will not be going back there, rather make my own or go to cocos! $15 for a nasty pie... It worth it. read more

My mother and I had breakfast here today and the experience was quite awful. We split breakfast and had coffee and I had regular creamer. I took a drink and had a bunch of gross things in my mouth, and it tasted very bitter. The creamer was curdled and white bits were floating at the top of the coffee! Our waitress, Pamela, said it was the second time this week that this had happened. She took it away and brought me milk with a fresh cup, and the milk just wasn't the same. The egg whites were underdone and mucousy. The sausage was cold. They had gotten the order backwards and gave us two bacon and one sausage. Pamela went and got another sausage to take care of that. Unfortunately both were cold. To add insult to injury (rotten cream is sour and bad for your health!), they actually charged me for the coffee! My mother wouldn't let me complain because she was raised that way. I wasn't able to call and speak to a manager until I got off work. When I called at 7:00 pm, the manager couldn't seem to care less. He tried to deflect blame and suggest that I should have called earlier, or they should have been informed at the time this happened (he didn't seem perturbed that the waitress hadn't informed the manager of the problem when it happened), and actually tried to suggest that those little coffee creamers couldn't go bad! He said the only way that can happen is when someone puts lemon in it! Yeeeeah, no lemon in my coffee. The other couple of times we've eaten here, the food has been great, the service has been friendly, and the restaurant has been clean. We were really surprised we had such an extraordinarily bad breakfast, and I'm even more dismayed at the attitude, and terrible customer service, of the night manager, who could have accepted responsibility, shown a little concern, and at least offered a free beverage when we came back in, to replace the one I shouldn't have been charged for. He made a terrible situation, truly unbelievable. 4/14/16: I was contacted by someone in higher management who read my review and showed great concern about the experience we had. They said they appreciated the feedback so they could improve their guests' experience. She said that my mother and I would enjoy a meal on Polly's, and that was much more than I expected. All I wanted was the manager to have taken the rotten milk seriously and shown some concern. I've changed my review from 1 star to 3. I would again recommend this restaurant. read more

Grandma loves to take us here when we visit Hemet. We have been a few times and it is always good! Thier sandwhiches are really good; I would definately reccomend. Last time I had a salad. The ingredients were all fresh and it was well put together but WAY too much salad dressing. I will order it on the side next time. The kids all enjoyed thier food and the waitress was super nice about altering thier breakfast orders since none of them like eggs.
