I found this place by chance. It is not bad. The personal is friendly and nice. Food is ok. But it is definitely not "authentic Mexican". My wife likes it and that is good enough for me. My issue is that they charge you for every single thing. One extra scoop of ranchero sauce for $1.99. Really? Come on?! And you expect to keep costumers this way. The food is already expensive as it is. They really need to stop nickel and dime every single thing. They don't even give you salsa and chips with your to go order. Come on! read more

FANTASTIC Mexican food, and my wife and think most Mexican places we've tried are bland and watered-down for Aneticans who can't handle strong spicy flavors. We're already looking forward to coming back here and trying other items on the menu, next time we're in Hemet. I had the chili-verde, it was excellent. Just after they opened; 2 of us ordered Birria plates and 1 ordered a Ranchero burrito served wet, bandera style. All three enjoyed the quality of meat, savory sauces and exceptional service from the lady who took our order and also served us. We would definitely return to enjoy another meal here. My wife and I came to town last night from San Diego and were looking for a place to grab lunch. She asked a friend of hers who lives in the area and she recommended La Morenita. When we got there, we walked inside and noticed quite a few people so we knew the place had to be good. We were right! We were seated and given our menus along with chips and salsa. After a few minutes, the waitress came by to take our order. After a short amount of time, our drinks and sopes came out. The sopes tasted just like the ones that my in-laws (from Mexico) make and we felt like we were sitting in their living room having dinner. Definite home style cooking here! We were so full by the time that we got done that we ended up taking the leftovers back to our hotel room and eating them for dinner. Thanks for a great meal and for great service. This place is by far the BEST most authentic Mexican food you'll have out here. We moved from Orange County so we were use to amazing Mexican from OC and LA so when we moved out here it was tough finding a good spot. Finally found this little hole in the wall and my god...every time we go it's amazing. I always like to try new things but my husband sticks to the asada torta. The chips and salsa were so good. The chips were warm and the salsa was delicious. A tiny bit spicy, but not really. So tasty. I ordered the beef flautas combination plate and they were hands down the BEST flautas I've ever had. The shell was fried to a crispy perfection, and the meat inside was incredibly juicy. My husband got the cheese enchiladas and ate every last bite. He said they were delicious. The rice was amazing. I'm not usually too big on rice, but this was so flavorful!
