I recently pushed in my trunk lock and lost the original/master key to unlock them so I asked to have a key made that worked for them and 2 button keys. He took a while but it was my car that had a faulty passenger actuator(buttons won't connect without all working properly), he charged $75 for just the solo key and said it would be $140 per button but he wouldn't charge and hold on to them until I got the actuator fixed. We lost our only key to our Highlander yesterday. Unfortunately this car has a push button start and the keys come equipped with a programmable chip. AAA directed us to a mobile locksmith "Day And Night Security". These jokers quoted us a price of $475 to replace and program a new remote electronic key. They told us we'd have to wait at least 24 hours so they could buy the part from Toyota. I called Toyota of Carlsbad. Toyota wanted $292 just for the electronic remote. Then an additional $390 to program that remote so it will open our car and start the engine. Plus tax. Total of $682 plus tax. Toyota suggested we also spring an extra 134.00 for a metal key which will only open the door but never start the engine. Oh lord----so $816 plus tax for one key? I found Polo Locksmith through glowing recommendations by my neighbors on the NextDoor app. Santos answered my call. Checked for our specific electronic key fob---found it in stock so NO waiting a day. He quoted us a total price of $295 for this new electronic key AND reprogramming it at our home. This is a family owned business. Twenty minutes later and their talented technician "Norma" arrived at our door. Turns out that Norma is Santos' well trained and very talented sister. Licckety--split Norma had us back into our locked car. She programmed this new electronic key beautifully and saved us about $200 OFF the estimate of the other mobile locksmiths we checked with and more than $500 LESS than Toyota wanted to charge us. Polo Locksmith is a wonderful, fair, courteous and talented mobile locksmith company. They helped us out on a Sunday afternoon. No extra charges. Apparently open 24/7. read more

In my initial inquiry with Polo Locksmith about our broken door knob-lever, I provided photos and a careful description. Although the person replying here on Yelp said they've repaired these before, it only took Mimmo, the rep who arrived at our house, amazingly promptly by the way, about 3 minutes to determine that he lacks the hardware needed and cannot repair it. Although I was willing to pay the $95 visit fee, I believe this could have been clarified before the visit. I do hope that Mimmo can find a replacement knob mechanism, as he said he would try, and I look forward to upgrading my review when that happens. read more
