I Pre paid $235 for a 2025 Kia Telluride key over the phone. Half the cost of the key, programming and cutting of the emergency key. Drop off my car for the service and when I returned the woman in the shop told me that the programming went well, but the cutting of the key had some issues and that they could order a new key. Said that the gentleman that handles these services was out at a lockout and that he would be back in a few minutes, which he was. He gave me the transponder key to test the functions and it worked fine. He then tried the cut key and it did not work. This is where things became completely unacceptable. At first he wanted to give me the transponder key and a $40 discount without the cut key. I was already told that they would order a new key? I told him that I wanted him to order a new key to cut. He begrudgingly said he would and then asked me to pay the balance which was another $200+. I told him that I would feel more comfortable paying when the job was completed. He then said no, that I wouldn't come back. This was in a very unprofessional tone. Basically calling me a thief. Mind you I didn't expect to take the key with me. He then very rudely said, "forget it, I'll just refund your money" like it was some threat to me. At this point I wasn't going to deal with this anymore and said, "that's great. Refund the deposit". Well he clearly let his mouth overload his ass because he then realized that he had a key that was messed up and no one to sell it to. He tried to backtrack on his threat and I said no, I'll take the refund. At this point he started to make rude comments to me about how I was taking advantage of a small business, bla bla bla. Screwing him over bla bla bla. And I said to him, "I never ask for a refund, that came out of your mouth". In short, he f'ed up the key, let his mouth overload his ass. And screwed himself. Needed two new key fobs to replace two failing fobs for our 2016 Jeep Cherokee Sport. When I needed to get my key fob fixed for a 2006 RAV4, I googled locksmiths and looked at reviews. Day & Night stood out from other locksmiths like, well, night and day. They did not offer any communication or status updates. They did not provide a courtesy call when they were on they're way and they did not call upon arrival and did not call to say they had decided to take another call. AAA roadside status bar indicated they had arrived and we had no communication waited for almost two hours when the wait was suppose to be 45mins . The status bar said arrived and no communication with the 1 hour time frame until I decided to call the provider myself. My remote completely died - after working intermittently and trying a few new batteries it just kept getting worse and worse until it was completely dead. And I had already lost my other one. The physical key worked, bit it was one that hid inside the fob and a real pain to take out. I called Day & Night late on a Friday thinking they would need to order replacements and I would be able to get new remotes the following week. To my surprise they had two in stock and offered to have me come by on Saturday to have them programmed. The locksmith that met me was very friendly and extremely quick in programming the new remotes and cutting the keys. Even better was that the cost was less than what I had paid several years back for 2 remotes (I didn't get remotes when I bought the car used). This was the second time we've used Day & Night - the first being to replace a broken remote on my son's car. A beloved family member of mine somehow put their Keyfob to their push to start vehicle on their windshield wiper and drove off. Key fell off and was driven over. This beloved elderly individual (mom) drove about 20 miles to the carwash and didn't realize the car flashing that the Keyfob wasn't in range. She stops the vehicle at the carwash...guess what happens next?? Yep car won't start obviously because the Keyfob is in 20 pieces miles away. What to do? I call a locksmith (to not be named) who said they could fix it. After 2 hours of them fumbling around they say...sorry, we can't fix it. At 5pm, panic set in I attempt a Hail Mary pass. I call Day & Night Locksmith. Randy shows up in under an hour. Randy was extremely pleasant, professional and knowledgeable and had a new Keyfob programmed and an emergency key cut in under 40 minutes. I have since deleted the two other locksmiths I had in my phone and have star and thumbs up emojis in my phone next to Day & Night locksmith number. Their price was significantly less than the first locksmith who failed miserably. I will only call Day & Night locksmith for any home or auto needs and you should too. Not what I expected.. I called on the 15th of April spoke with Michelle told her I had just purchased a vehicle that only came with one key and I needed a second key. She asked several questions and gave me a price quote. So I decided I'd pay by phone with a credit card. She then replied youll need to come in ( all this during covid) I said why can't I pay by phone she then said oh if you prefer to do things that way fine.. ( perplexed but went with it) I asked when will the key be in as I'm going out of town for a few days. This was a Thursday she said I should have it by Monday maybe Tuesday. I said ok I'm back Monday why don't you call me on tues and If the key is in I will come in on Wednesday and get the new key. She agreed! Tuesday comes and goes I hear nothing.. on Wed I called before leaving asked for Michelle said I was on my way for our 1 00pm appointment ( my life is built on appointments ( I can not be late) she proceeds to tell me oh I have a meeting and can't talk right now. I said I'm confused I have an appointment at 1pm 20 mins before our scheduled time. She said no your appointment was on Tuesday ( no call to see what happened or why I did not show for our supposed time) nothing from them at all.. so I kindly reminded her tues you where to call and let me know if the key arrived Wednesday was the appointment. Her reply I have a meeting I cant see you let's reschedule you, how about 2 30 or 3.. I said I ll adjust my day and make the 2 30 only to arrive and get out of the car some lady yells at me across a very busy parking lot mostly full of the companies vans so not much parking. But She says hello and that she is Michelle all while talking to another person. While I was walking towards the office she says would you like to wait outside ( confused by not asking me to come in I said I'd prefer to come in and walked inside. 3 employees maybe four all standing at a very small counter ( i suddenly thought maybe it was better to wait outside so standing by the door she come out and ask is this the key? ( again I just bought the car and I'm relying on there expertise to have ordered the right key. Shocked and dismayed that I suddenly need to educate myself quickly I said I'm not sure. Her response was I'm relying on you to know.. I reply im not sure where this attitude is coming from.. then some guy says we are done here.. I had no idea who he was talking to but now I realize it was Me.. So I told him I already paid. He said let me get you a confirmation of your refund. Never saw Michelle again. He came out with my receipt. I told him I'm very confused whats going on. His reply was this will not work out.. I grabbed my conformation and left.. only to find another place for $40 cheaper. I mentioned there price seemed high on our first conversation her reply was well we have a nice building and good place to work #jackpricesforoverhead #dontsettleforless I know situations pop up and we may need a locksmith on the fly ( they also work with Aaa) just do your homework. We all have a right to refuse services but at the very least, at least be clear on why! I'm thankful for saving $40 on my new key! read more
