I have used them four times over the last two years for repairs as well as tuneup on 2 family cars, BMW x1 and Audi Quattro. I found them to be very knowledgeable (I brought my BMW there after taking it to another shop who did not fix the issue but they claimed they did, $800 wasted). Not only did they diagnose the issues and fixed successfully, they gave me options to save money on parts needed if I waited 2 more days. They recommended other things that would need to be done in the next one to two years, but were very clear that it is safe to wait. They were very honest they didn't upsell me and very reasonably priced. I saw someone's comment about Bad communication. These guys are invested in their work because they own the business. They're always working on cars and they call back as soon as they can can't blame them For running to the phone every time it rings that's why they have an answering machine. I've finally had enough of Petr's excuses. The man says one thing then accuses his customers of misleading him. I brought my BMW 750Li in for a license plate malfunction. Petr couldn't be bothered with sourcing the based on his diagnosis. I found a new part, but that wasn't the problem. The car needed a new module. $175 down the drain for a part not required. Sad. Petr needs to stick to lawn mower repair. read more

NEGATIVE This critique is not about a specific repair done wrong, but about how customer dis-service. My Audi needed an O2 sensor replaced. Last week, Polonez agreed to install the part I bought elsewhere. When the part arrived on Wednesday, I called Polonez to arrange the repair for Friday. When I came in Thursday afternoon to drop off the car, they then told me they would not install the part, apparently because the part was not bought through them. It is a very bad business practice (not to mention down right rude) to promise to do something one day and change your mind the following. Waste of time, effort and money. read more

I took my CRV older model in because I lived in Des Moines , which is very close to this shop. I needed a transmission, they replaced it, or so I thought, broke down again in 4 days. I was livid, they put in another used transmission, if was ok but then my defogger "mysteriously" stopped working. I will never recommend this shop. I felt ripped off and they damaged my vehicle, a nightmare working with this place. read more

Please take this as a warning and stay far, far away from Polonez. We'd been going to them for over a year, taking in our cars for everything from brakes to oil changes and everything in between. We put a lot of money into their business and a lot of trust into both Peter and Vojtek. Within the last 6 months, we kind of started getting a feeling that something wasn't right. Sometimes we'd take a car in and wait far to long to get it back. Sometimes we'd get something fixed only to have to take it back again to fix the same thing. They would charge inconsistently. After replacing the brakes with them nearly 5 months ago, we took our car into another mechanic and they told us there was no way that much wear should happen on new brakes in that amount of time. We are convinced they used either cheap materials or maybe even used products. This is a safety issue and a trust issue. Despite both Peter and Vojtek seeming nice, they are a prime example of why average Joes like me can't trust the auto mechanic industry. Take your money, time, and trust elsewhere. read more

I'm giving Polonez 2 stars mostly because they are relatively nice, and have tried to answer my questions, etc. However, after several thousand dollars worth of work I've had done there, I would advise extreme caution. I purchased a 2000 Subaru Legacy less than 2 years ago, and realized there was something wrong with the radiator, and there was a funny smell. I was totally clueless about cars at the time I purchased this, and now know that I would have run away quickly in the other direction and not have purchased this car, just based on the radiator. That being said, I took the car in and was told that it needed a new radiator. I understood that and went ahead and asked them to replace it, as well as the S belts, timing belt, water pump. They did replace them only for me to discover that a more major problem had been unearthed, a leaking head gasket. So I got a quote and had them refurbish the head gasket. My car was still overheating and I ended up needing to take it into another shop over in Idaho, as I had barely made the trip from Seattle. That shop discovered that one of the new radiator hoses had actually not been placed correctly, and replaced it. The car was still overheating, so the Idaho shop flushed the engine and found they had to replace the thermostat, which had just been replaced by Polonez. When I got back to Seattle, I left my Subaru at Polonez and they weren't able to find anything wrong with it, even though I was still having problems with my engine overheating. I drove another 3,000 miles or so around town, and then my fuel pump died. Polonez replaced the fuel pump, and my car was running. After about another 3,000 miles, my check engine light started flashing at me one day, and my car was lurching terribly. This time, due to a recent move, I had the car towed to a shop closer to home in Auburn. They discovered that the reason for the major engine misfire was that the spark plugs and wires that were damaged by the leaking head gasket had NOT been replaced when the head gasket was repaired. This was a MAJOR oversight on the part of Polonez, and cost me another $600. I will do all I can to avoid Polonez in the future; I've had major work done at that shop, and their oversight on the simple and seemingly obvious things have caused me a great deal of stress, time and money. I would advise extreme caution when using Polonez. read more
