Electric pedestal where we were at had turned off with 120v once but never again after they cycled the breaker OFF then ON. Previous reviews about intermittant 30A service may have been in ERROR. There were multiple times 30A service shut power completely on and off - randomly in the trailer. It wasn't due to the trailer's 55A power converter since mobile RV tech over phone said it would not cause complete power failure, don't bother replacing it. I tracked down a 15A fuse in the panel that would cut power off and on when pressed on when others wouldn't do anything. Replaced 15A fuse and all seems to be well. Still doesn't explain why the 120v outlet on pedestal was wonky. They have recycling for plastic, paper, aluminum cardboard but it is at top of hill and not at other garbage disposal area. Recommend paying more for premium or super premium site to get better site conditions and ameneties. That isn't a knock on this KOA, just personal experience. 4 out of 5 star ratings.

It is right next to an airport and sometimes the planes are very noisy upon takeoff or landing, but did not detract from our visit. The gift shop was standard. They did have a lot of T-shirts and clothing to select from but the food area could've been improved with more selection. It was a great place to watch the Fourth of July fireworks. They also have a very nice outdoor seating area just outside of the souvenir shop --registration office where there is a beautiful view of the lake however, the motorcoach park that is just below us had preferable seating, and a closed event which limited us to Not enjoying that area for a few hours on the Fourth of July

We had some other challenges that I didn't see coming. WiFi was inoperable for our entire stay. Cable television needed to be "reset" before it worked. We reserved the cabin for our adult daughter to stay in while we visited and did not know the cabin came with NO linens and NO bathroom! Lastly, with no fault to the park, the adjoining parcel of land next to our site was being developed with earthmovers, graders, and water trucks. Very noisy and we will be cleaning dust and from every crack for weeks! Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

The best option is tent camping in my opinion, because the RV sites are much too close together. The bathrooms have a serious smell problem. Great for families and long term or short term camping. Wild animals frequent area, so be bear aware. I've seen two just in the campground.

This is a mountain camping park and our pull through space was narrow but had plenty of space for parking the truck in front or behind our travel trailer. This park has several full-time residents as well as nightly, weekly and monthly renters. There are cabins and travel trailers for rent too. I felt like we were camping without the tent in the pine trees. We would stay here again.

We've rented kayaks from other places around the lake for years without issue, even in unpredictable weather, but this year we thought we'd try something new (don't). We had a reservation for the 4th and came fully prepared: rented a U-Haul to transport and store the kayaks, brought our own gear, safety lights, and had a secure location to store the boats overnight. We communicated clearly leading up to the reservation, repeatedly assuring them that we wouldn't go out unless the weather conditions improved. We were asking for the option to maybe go out if it cleared up. Instead, they cancelled the reservation last minute with no room for discussion. They kept bringing up that it was "getting too late," even though we were still within our scheduled time and in regular contact. It felt like they didn't trust us to make our own judgment call, and that was especially frustrating given how much planning we had done and how careful we were being. It completely derailed our holiday plans, and they showed no real effort to accommodate or even acknowledge that. No flexibility, just a blanket cancellation with a shrug. We've dealt with unpredictable Montana weather before and had a plan, but never with a company this rigid or dismissive.

Book Early - It's Amazing if you love nature and DOGS!…read more So, 3 years ago I called in early November to get a reservation for a half day dogsledding trip over Christmas week, and was told they were all booked up. So, when we decided over the summer to go to Whitefish for the holidays, I called and made a reservation (this was in August!). Seriously, it was at least 4 months in advance and I pretty much stalked them until I got confirmation that I had secured a reservation. Upon arriving in the Flathead Valley, I noticed how little snow there was and started to worry that the dogsledding would be canceled, but luckily, Mark texted that it was still on and he had a location that still had snow and we'd be fine. Thank goodness! Upon arrival, we were given a tour of the kennel, met the 6 dogs that were going to be our team, and loaded them up in the trailer. We got a bit of a lesson on how to manage the sled and then drove about 40 minutes south to an area that had a good amount of snow and got the dogs all harnessed up and off we went! There were two of us, so one of us was standing and driving the sled, and one of us was sitting as a passenger. We were able to switch out throughout the trip, so we both got to be the driver for a portion of the trip. When you are the passenger, you can take pictures and video, which is nice, but standing and driving the sled is the BEST part. We sledded down a road for quite a while, letting the dogs take breaks as needed. Mark, the owner of the company, managed the team by cross country skiing along side us the entire way to make sure the dogs behaved, gave us instruction and lead the way. It's quite amazing how much physical effort he puts in for you to have a great time - he basically exercises for two hour straight. The second half of the tour included heading into the back country, sledding through trees on a narrow trail. OMG - this was amazing! We stopped along the river and had hot chocolate, which was such a nice way to enjoy the scenery and let the dogs rest, take pictures and pet and kiss the dogs. If you are still debating if you should do this, I would say don't hesitate - DO IT. Especially if you are in good physical condition, enjoy outdoor activities and love dogs. It is such a unique and amazing day. Also, Mark is a fantastic guide, he makes it fun, light and he is so incredibly nice. The dogs are super sweet (although, they do get a bit rowdy and occasionally get into little tiffs with each other) and the scenery is outstanding. I seriously had a smile on my face the entire time, laughing continuously as we went through the trees. We had a blast and I'm so grateful we got to experience this day, it was the highlight of our trip. Last note, I wasn't sure what to wear. I would dress like you are going skiing. Since sometimes you are sitting, you get a bit more chilly, so dress in layers. I had on Sorel winter snow boots, ski pants, thermal underwear top and bottom, a fleece and a puffer jacket, along with warm ski socks, a warm hat and my ski gloves. If it is a really cold day, I'd get those hand warmers and foot warmer things that you can put in your boots and gloves.

1-star Review for Spruce Park on the River, Kalispell, MT and here is why:…read more I booked this RV park based on the photos and Google reviews, thinking it would be a great spot right on the river while I was driving 2-days from another state. I had no idea what to expect, so I trusted the online reputation. Unfortunately, this experience was incredibly disappointing and frustrating from the moment I arrived. I made my reservation early in the day and spoke to someone on the phone who told me I could stop by the office when I got there to finalize check-in and get my welcome packet. At no point did anyone mention that absolutely no check-in is allowed after 9 PM. I also received an email and completed mobile check-in, which made it even more confusing -- I had my site number and everything paid for, so I assumed I was good to go. I arrived just after 9 PM. The office hours on the door said they were open until 9, and the email clearly stated that packets for late arrivals would be left outside. There was no packet. I called the "24-hour number," and the woman who answered was shockingly rude. She told me, bluntly, "We don't allow check-ins after 9," and when I explained that no one had told me this and I'd already paid, she basically said, "I don't know what to tell you," refused to help, and hung up on me. I had just driven two long days, and all I wanted was the shower code -- which she also refused to give me. To make things worse, the site I booked (in the G lot) was impossible to get into with my fifth wheel. So even if I had been allowed to check in, I couldn't have parked there anyway. Overall, I spent $140 on a spot I couldn't access, got no help from staff, and was treated incredibly rudely. If you're planning to stay here, make sure you understand every single rule ahead of time -- because if there's any issue, don't expect kindness or support from the staff. I would not recommend this place and will not be returning.

Later in the season, we enjoyed playing in and on the gorgeous river flowing alongside the campground. The grass and grounds are very well kept, and the staff are attentive and kind. It feels like a family! Bathrooms are immaculate with cute touches like live flowers and baskets with toiletries. Huge park area for kids to play and dogs to run around in. Nice new playground. Fun cornhole and outside checkers and horseshoes. Overall, one of our favorite places to camp. And don't forget about the hot air balloons that frequently take off right from the park around sunset- what a unique and unforgettable experience!!
