Brian was excellent when I took my car in to have the transmission fluid drained/refilled, 2 belts replaced, and the water pump replaced. Since my car had 100,000 miles already before I realized my Mazda does not have recommended transmission fluid change intervals, he let me know that if the fluid was too dirty then replacing the fluid would cause more issues. He was happy to educate and let me know that the transmission gets used to the fluid with extra grit in it and replacing it would take away that extra friction that the transmission needs to work. I asked online about the cost of replacing my catalytic converter and was given a quote. However, when I went to the store, they charged me an additional $150 just to run another diagnosis, and then they doubled the original quote for the repair. Of course, I canceled the replacement, but I still lost $150 for the unnecessary diagnosis. Very disappointing experience. I will not be returning. read more

I was well pleased with the service provided and the price was average. I had my driver's side window motor replaced. After removing the interior door parts, I noticed they broke the door handle framing but that's no big deal it's hardly noticeable. The only issue I'm having, fast forward a few months, is the cable inside the door that lifts the window is making a crunching sound. I'm afraid it's going to start giving me trouble soon and the replacement part was supposed to be brand new. The other side window, although 22 years old, works fine and runs smoothly without much sound. I would still recommend this shop when under a time constraint. I recently had an oil change at another facility one of the places that one goes for a quick oil change. I will not say which one but in any event, the the drain plug was over tightened post oil change, and it stripped the oil pan and poly care assessed the situation with the service manager Joel who provided amazingly stellar care in having previously worked for the oil change company knew the process and was able to guide me through so that I could make a claim successfully to recoup the money that I spent for the oil pan repair at poly care. Absolutely the best experience ever. I had a very weird issue with my GX470 where the ABS was engaging on the freeway. I took it to 3 different people and nobody could figure it out and nobody could/would recreate the symptom. When I showed up I got kinda lucky because they had an appointment that rescheduled and they got right to work. Instead of taking it for a test drive to see what it was the shop foreman, I think his name was Oscar (sorry if I got it wrong) rode shotgun had me drive it around to recreate it to see what was happening. Finally! A mechanic taking the time to do it right. After that test drive he and the owner, Brian, took it drove it with a scanner hooked up. Long story short it was a very strange circumstance but they were able to get it fixed where 3 other have failed. The price for the work very very reasonable too. Let's go Polycare Automotive!! Came in for a synthetic oil change and was super pleased with my experience from beginning to end. Making an appointment was simple. I just called, and Miss Bianca answered the phone very professionally. She provided available appointment times, as well as an estimated cost plus the expected wait time. I was easily able to schedule a mid-week afternoon appointment. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted and checked in. Sam worked on my car promptly. While I waited, Bianca kindly offered me a water bottle and a laptop pad to use as I enjoyed/did some work using their wifi. Seriously awesome! After 45 mins, I received a text message with a link leading to the complimentary inspection of my vehicle. It's a great touch. I am happy to share that I didn't have any urgent issues with my car, and the recommended services were in line with what's expected at my mileage. There was absolutely no pressure and Bianca provided time/cost estimates of these services. Then, I was on my way to continue the rest of my day with the comforting knowledge that my ride was all tuned up. Thanks Polycare team! So I first went here many years ago when I first bought a car off Craigslist and I went to Polycare for the first inspection and later several thousands in other work on the car. I will not be returning again. After an oil change, Polycare recommended that I replace my brakes because they were worn to .3mm. When I had a different mechanic lift my car and take the wheels off, we all discovered that Polycare had completely lied and over 80% of the tread was still good and fully usable. After I called Polycare and they insisted that the mechanic who was physically showing me the barely worn brake pads was lying, I swore off ever returning to this place. (I went to Firestone on mission after and they've always been good.) Do not recommend. I went several times and spent over 3k/4k, and I surely will not be returning. Been going to these guys for around 4 years. I've had my clutch replaced which went well until the clutch pedal became soft after 3 months and had to have it adjusted. I've had a starter replaced which went bad after 4 years. I've had my engine oil pan replaced and started leaking after 6 months . When I went back to have it fixed they asked me who did such a bad job, and I then they realized they were the ones who installed it. Even though this place seems to be mainly for imports, I recently took my F150 to have them look at my driveshaft. Before the pandemic I was told by the dealership I should get the support bearing and ujoint replaced. They were very attentive, courteous, and genuinely interested in helping me. I communicated with them via Yelp, I sent an email with my inquiries, their response was always swift and to the point. After they looked at my truck, they determined there was nothing majorly wrong with it. Instead of pushing unnecessary services, they were honest and transparent. This level of integrity is rare and greatly appreciated. Saving me money. Although they didn't perform any actual repairs on my truck this time, I left with a positive impression. Their commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction has earned my trust. The report that's texted to you afterwards is so handy, keeps me up to date on future services. I had my oil changed on Feb 28th and had seen my TPMS light show up. Brian provided me with bottled water and a handy laptop lap desk while I waited for it to be serviced. After the oil change, he recommended I go to a tire shop if it didn't go off after 10-15 minutes of driving. So I went to my local Costco tire center since I had purchased my tires there. Unfortunately, the last time I got my car serviced, I was almost scammed into a new steering column which I did not need (the total estimate for that plus new breaks was around 3000 dollars). Dear Brian, The first paragraph of your standard reply is seemingly so sincere. I once was deceived to think that you were a reasonable and honorable owner. Now you remind me of Elizabeth Holmes. Now it is time to poke a couple of holes in your weak defense. 1. Whatever your explanations are, the FACT IS OUR BRAKES WERE NOT FIXED. The dealership, which we took our car to 15 mins after leaving your place, documented this FACT in black and white. 2.You claimed that the document I retrieved the signature is the invoice. That is a LIE. That document I retrieved signature from, was the one we were coerced to sign, which says the vehicle was totally fixed and was to release you from any further liability.  3. You claimed that I came into your office yelling and ripping off my husband's signature. How would I even know where to find the document? Also would you, your manager and your "witness" friends allow someone to walk into your office yelling, and search through your filing cabinets? Lies often lack logic and are difficult to patch up.  4. You confessed that I, "ran out of the office." So you therefore acknowledged that I was physically threatened while inside your office. Your manager started yelling, and screaming first, all the while intimidatingly walking into my personal space. Of course, I need to get out quickly to avoid being physically hurt by him. And you as the owner just sat there, enabled your employee's inappropriate behavior by doing nothing, and then twist the facts afterward to cover up.  5. You also confessed that we have "concerns with the work you performed." If we have "concerns with your work," then why did we sign any document to acknowledge the car is fixed? Anyone with little logic will conclude that the signature was signed under coercion/artifice/misrepresentation. 6.I am glad you also confessed that your manager tried to retrieve the paper from me. If your manager trying to rob a document from my hand is not a coercive behavior, then what is? We already made a statement on that document to say we don't agree the car is fixed. So when I realized we were mislead to sign, I have every right to retrieve our own signature on a document that we already stated we do not agree. What then is your manager's right to force having our signature against our will? If that is not coercion, then what is? If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it is a duck. Coercion is coercion. Your lies are so weak that in your own defense you dug yourself an even deeper hole to bury yourself in. read more

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. As Brian and wife stepped further away from the business, prices have gone up and services were "streamlined". I appreciate that prices have gone up everywhere but even comparison shopping around Miramar points to Polycare charging 20-30% more than competition. Also, I used to be able to bring my own oil (for years) but that's no longer a thing. I once forgave them for not quite getting the BMW battery install right as good will for past success but the price gap is just too big. E.g. I can get a repair done for $700 that Polycare quoted at $1000 without driving too far south. read more

The reviews were great so I called, they were able to provide me a reasonable estimate and scheduled me in for an appointment within the next week. I needed an oil change and they were done in less than an hour so I was able to hang out in the waiting area of their office and get work done. My Perfect Mechanic of Choice Since my last review, Polycare Automotive has become my mechanic of choice. Brian Meadows grew up learning everything there is about the automobiles. As I have mentioned in my past review, he is an ex-race car driver & a present auto mechanic. His specialty is foreign cars. Since my last review, Brain's business, clientele & employees have grown & he is much busier. Why you may ask? Because the man knows what the hell he is doing & he is doing it with a fraction of the dealer's price! Brian still takes care of his clients, gives them rides to work, after dropping their cars (if they work nearby), makes sure you are comfortable, informs you of the details & cost before repairs, uses top products & gets you going as soon as possible. I have been bringing my Mercedes Benzes to him since my last review. The last time, I was there, he was doing a service & oil change on one, but a little oil check stick part which he ordered, got there late, so by the time the SUV was ready, the stick was not there. I had to take the vehicle & come back for him to put in the stick. For my inconvenience, Brian didn't charge me and the part was on the house. Little things that he does, makes a difference in service. Every time I see Brian, we chat about everything from the human life to the chicken milk! He is a fun guy to chat with & he is informative about the automotive industry. Not a dull moment when I bring a vehicle for service. His staff are courteous and hard workers. I brought my card here for several years and got a few things done from oil changes to rack and pinion swaps. My most recent visit for a check engine light (intermittent and on at time of drop off), along with re-diagnosis/re-confirmation of something they found a year ago, and me fully describing to two front desk people for a week (that's how long they had my car) the said couldn't find the issue. The second lady told me "none of what you're saying is described here", which tells me their new front desk girl didn't write down anything after the 3x I spoke to her. No one followed up with me through the week. No one explained anything to me after I picked up my car. I was told that the mechanic would call me and explain everything, why they couldn't diagnose my car. Never happened. I was told to drive around and wait for the light to come back on. I gave you the code, why couldn't you figure it out from there. You're a mechanic, shouldn't you know if X to start working your way through Y? They could have talked to me so I could also explain. Maybe he would have been able to work through my description of issue. Polycare customer service is lacking big time. Reliability is lacking. Brian and team are so knowledgeable and dependable, I've experienced it. Just not this time which is disappointing. I brought it to Pacific Auto Service the next week and they were thorough, found the issue, wrote what I explained was wrong and emailed me a copy of everything before and after the work. LETS be HONEST here, In January 2020, i haven't told you nor showed you any papers thats i brought my car to other shop nor a shop suggested that AT trans Solenoid as the problem because i haven't seen a mechanic that time thats why i brought it to you. and its you who told "without looking at the car and told me that SOLENOID was the common problem of CRV" so i trusted you. So even if thats the problem, haven't you noticed i've been coming back to you 3x because the Transmission light service was keep on coming back over and over that means that there is a problem that you haven't seen which is you only "KEEP ON RESETTING THE WARNING LIGHT WITHOUT DOING NOTHING but a $100 voucher to have my Transmission done on other shop". Even the mechanic after you mentioned that you only keep resetting without changing the trans pressure switch, and how come after they changed it the light did not came back? In April 2022, after you diagnosed my car you told me the problem and the issue that i was raising in, which is shaky handling was not addressed so "I WAS THE ONE WHO TOLD YOU TO TEST DRIVE THE CAR" because you were only raising the problem mainly on the belt. Yes, you are in good faith offered to replace the stud and lug nut. As i was waiting your employee told me that "MOST PROBABLY IT WILL BE BROKEN" 'AND QUOTED ME ALMOST $600 FOR REPAIR" what do you expect of me? right there and there replace it and have the money to replace it on the SPOT? of course i have to decline since it is not planned and its out of my budget and THATS YOUR FAULT AFTER ALL. If you are really serious about "YOUR GOOD FAITH" call me. Be MAN enough to accept your fault and straighten it up. read more
