E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T . I was looking for a barber shop close to my place and I found it out on Yelp! Yes, I went there around 7 pm, time to close the barber shop, however he and one of the barbers, Shawn did my haircut ‍ it's an amazing opportunity to finally find my barber shop! He has a nice place where you can play pool, yes you can play pool meanwhile you wait for your turn if you just walk in but he makes appointment online or by phone. I highly recommend it to my Yelp friends and anyone whom wants to get a high style haircut. BRING CASH CASH ONLY IN CASH I will keep you post next time when I need my second round to see what else they will offer to me. Yeeeah!

I pretty much booked up the 11am hour for my family yesterday. We booked with Ms. Savannah, Mr. Justin, and Mr. Blake Ware. The atmosphere was great feeling yesterday and inviting. Everyone seemed to be in good spirits. Savannah was great with my 3yr old Robert, even though he made it clear that he wasn't going to cooperate. Rock on! Justin was booked for my Retired Navy dad. My dad had a great time in his chair. Great shave experience and said that he would do it again the next time he visits here. Blake was booked for my 7yr old Colt and myself. Blake did an excellent job on Colt and myself. I had a relaxing time in his chair. Can't wait till next month.

I have been waiting a long while to get my hair cut. In January of 2013, I went with a purple/blue dye job which faded out to the bleach. I'd put off getting my hair cut because I wanted the bleach to grow out as much as it could. I'd gotten trims here and there, but hadn't cut off the length (which reached about the middle of my back). I'm not to the point of being completely rid of it, but it's close enough that a trip to see the coolest barber in Jacksonville was due. I wanted something simple, as I still have a bit of the bleach still in my hair, but not too short. With a description as simple as that, Farrell gave me a cute, short cut with some layers and a little flip in the ends. Perfection. I love it. While Pomade and Tonic is a full barbershop for men, the only thing that is offered for women are cuts and dyes. You will not get a wash here, so make sure that you do it at home before coming for your hair cut appointment. That may be irksome to some, but it was nice to have my appointment last approximately 30 minutes, rather than the usual hour and a half to two hours. Pomade & Tonic is more than just a barber shop, though, it's a social club too! I've been to my fair share of events here and it's always rockin. Sometimes it's a throwback to the 50s, a celebration for Jacksonville Zombie Walk or even just a folks enjoying each other's company. The rockabilly theme of the barber shop only adds to this with the black and white checkered tile floor, old fashioned jukebox, pool table and 50s memorabilia. One thing that should be noted is that Pomade and Tonic is a cash only establishment. So make sure you stop at the ATM beforehand.

    Cool cats.

The ease with which I made an appointment online was super convenient. Farrell was amazing. He is very dapper but more importantly, he is Quite knowledgeable with scissors, clippers and hair. What I like best is that Farrell will flat out tell you if a cut you're wanting won't work with your hair texture or growth pattern. He also gave us pointers on how to style my son's new grown up cut. The God's Honest Truth is better than flattery for convenience. I do like the details of the barber shop. The vintage chairs are flat out incredible. The silver deer hooks. The photos. The furniture. It could benefit from a more aesthetically pleasing arrangement but overall, a great place for a sharp cut. Love the name. Love the place. Love the Farrell.

First off this place is cash only. Second call ahead and make an appointment. They are getting so busy now that's it's almost impossible to walk in and get an appointment. Third they have inexpensive services for everything. I've been meaning to check this place out for years. I used to drive by it a lot, and I would always hear of people recommending it, but it's not exactly on my side of town. However, I needed a change and after 15 or so years I decided for my 30th birthday I need a different style of hair cut. I called in a day in advance and Wade helped me set up an appointment at 11:30am on a Saturday. I showed up a little early was able to sit down for a few minutes and check out the atmosphere of this place. Old school barbershop to the tee. When it was my turn I showed Wade 4 pictures of the style I was looking to get and expressed my concerns and ideas to him. He walked me through the process he'd do to cut it to the new look and reassured me that I could rock the new look. He recommended some new styling cream and helped give me some pointers on how to style it and what to expect when it got longer. He took his time and lots of patience with me as well as good conversation. Phenomenal experience and results. I am getting great feedback from friends and family for the new hair style. I recommend this place hands down for all the bros out there. Hair cuts, beard trims, or straight razor shaves... this is the place to be.

They know what they're doing. First time I've learned what my hair naturally wants to do and how to have it look good while following that!

I typically get a haircut once a month, and I'm willing to spend up to $40 to get it done. It's what I can afford on my budget. Recently, I was interested in trying someplace new and spent the last few weeks looking around. I decided on Razors Edge Barber shop. I think I made the best decision for my self. On the exterior, the store front is quaint and simple. Walking through the door is another matter entirely. Rustic, urban, and a classic gritty masculinity with a sense of swagger. So I meet Frank, and immediately I think this guy is unique. I tell him my usual haircut style and what I'm looking for. Not only does he give me his professional opinion but he suggests a style and cut more trending and appealing. And i might say folks, he did not disappoint. I'm nearing 40 and no longer want to have the militant cuts I've had for the last 22 years. I wanted a change to be more distinguished with a touch of "swagger". By the end, my oddly shaped head with a crazy cowlick, was hard-parted and nicely shaped with an even fade of bald to one guard. Even on my first visit, I have been pleased and looking forward to what happens next time. So much so, that I might not wait for a whole month. Thank you Frank! You've made one hell of an impression for a first time visit. I look forward to next time.

Frank is great. Old school and friendly. Gives a fantastic cut and shave. Reasonably priced.read more

I've been a client of Tony's for a few months. The haircuts for me were decent, though my other…read moresons were unhappy and stopped going. What ultimately ended it for me wasn't the haircut -- it was the customer service and the double standard. On multiple occasions, Tony ran 20-25 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. I'm a reasonable person and understand delays happen, but this became a pattern. The last time, I had to leave because waiting any longer would have made me late for my next commitment. That's on their end -- not mine. Despite that, I still booked again. One time I had to cancel on short notice because I was on-call and got called in. Another cancellation was done within the required notice window. The next time I booked appointments for myself and my younger son, my appointments were canceled -- twice. When I called, I was told that because I had canceled previously, I should "find another barber." So let me get this straight: They can repeatedly make customers wait well past their appointment time, but if you inconvenience them once -- even within policy -- you're immediately cut off. That's not professionalism. That's a one-sided relationship where the barber's time matters and the customer's does not. I have no interest in doing business with a place that operates this way, and others should be aware before booking.

Tony always does great haircuts and provides good service. The shop is clean and professionalread more
