I'm giving two stars because of bathrooms. They were very clean ( well considering most are dirty). But that's where all positive comments stop. The man there not sure if it's owners son or what he's like the rudest person alive! I'm thinking he's just a miserable person. He hates what he does and he seems to hate people too. I don't think kindness is a attribute known to him. He's personality will indeed make your trip worth not taking. Camping spots seem very small. And we had a person across from us who's baby cried all night. And no one did anything about it ! While at beach people stole our honey we had just bought very expensive honey we left in camp. Still unpacking so maybe more is missing too. The people drive by on golf carts continuely checking on you so I figured why would someone steal knowing this. You will not be greeted with a smile here . Wood is sold here 10 dollars for a small bundle and it provides a small pit made from old washer tubs ( ares was falling apart ) but they wouldn't change it . Need to purchase rack for it if you decide to cook on it which is 22 dollars so I suggest bring your BBQ rack if you own one. Laundry available it costs 2.50 to wash 2.00 to dry but you will need to spend 3.00 to get a full load to dry. There rules seem kinda wierd about people visiting , but I didn't have anyone coming just found it very weird. They say no bikes but seen lots of people riding bikes. Also they say quiet after 9pm but I heard kids and babies constantly . Wish they would pay attention to that rule as I don't take trips but every two years, cause of work. So paying lots of money to hear kids crying and screaming sucked! Seems they only monitored people for more money then trying to provide a peaceful atmosphere to their customers. Ohh and if you think wifi is available here think again . All 5 of us could not get siginal on phones at all, restrooms best spot but still was very low siginal. I actually seen people park next to restrooms just to talk on phone, then leave back to their sites. read more

My husband and I just returned from a lovely week at Pomo Campground. We were impressed by the very clean grounds (sites were raked daily) and the super nice bathrooms and showers. Sparkling clean, and everything worked! We are used to State campgrounds that are run down and most things are broken. The campground rules are enforced and we had nothing but nice campers near us. It's more of a senior oriented place, so it's quiet, which we really liked. Saw a cute gray fox one morning running through the campground! The location was great for us and we will return again. read more

This is a good clean place to stay if you are planning on camping in Fort Bragg. They gave me a wifi code at the office but I had no wifi service at my tent camp site. Showers are quarter operated clean and hot. Will come back, even though there are a lot of rules. They cater to the fisherman. They have a great fish cleaning station. read more

Spent 3 nights at Pomo R.V. Park in mid September. Have no complaints about the Park. The check-in went off without a hitch, the Park is clean and quiet and friendly. Ideal location and the campsites had comfortable spacing for privacy. We'll be back! read more

Didn't end up staying here but it looked pretty nice. We stayed at hidden pines and loved it but I think this place would have been just as good. $17.50 for everyone more than 2 people at a tent site though. read more

We checked in on 7/13/13 in RV spaces 35 & 36 staying for 6 nights for our annual summer family camping trip. We previously stayed here July 2009 and had a nice vacation. This experience has been much different than last and definitely will not be coming here again. I will start with the positives. The site is beautiful and clean. Ellen is very sweet and helpful and this review is no reflection on her. The rest of the woman staff not so much. AT&T service is practically non-existent as is their wi-fi. Their showers are coin operated & they nickel and dime you for any person after the 2 adults. Their reservation system is old fashion. I had to mail a check to the campground and they only accept check or cash for payment when you arrive. Honestly, I could have overlooked all of this but this evening we had a visit from an elderly staff woman in her golf cart at 9:10pm saying that her phone was ringing off the hook with complaints of loud noises and that we needed to be quiet. We had just finished a family game of wiffle baseball with the kids. Yes, there was a lot of laughter when it came to us parents not hitting the ball or not running fast enough (Me). It was clean family fun. We had people walking their dogs stopping to watch and enjoy the game. We were done at 9:10pm. Quiet time is 10pm. She was so rude!! Between both RV camp sites, we paid approximately $800 for our stay. We paid for everyone staying in our campsites. We are not rowdy. We are friendly people who will not be spending their money here again and will NOT be recommending this place to any of our RV friends. This is not a family friendly campground. Still pondering if we should stay the next 2 nights or just leave and find another campground. read more

The campground sites are nice and give privacy. The people who are either employees or owners are crabby and difficult to deal with. They are rude and money grappling. Probably would not return to Pomo RV because of the lack of customer unfriendliness. read more

Wow ! Beware of the owner. We were waiting to check in. 2 motorhomes ahead of us. We waited no problem. Then the owners husband needed to get by. Not willing to wait tell we could move he pulled up in his truck and told us we need to learn how to drive and started to cuss us out. Told us he was the owner get off his #%+% property. Ok no problem. We will leave ! Maybe if you clean up the trash , you would have more parking for your guest. Will never go back. read more

TERRIBLE!!!!! To rate it requires a star if I could I would leave 0 stars. We came there for a softball tournament. We called in advance to make our reservation, we told them we were a softball team and we had a large group of people and we would be coming in and out of the park throughout the day. They picked the spots for us and seemed friendly and accommodating on the phone. We got a total of 4 spots and were hoping to get more as the weekend got closer. When we checked in we told them we were possibly expecting more later in the evening and they were fine with that. I checked it with 2 adults and 2 children and the employee made a mistake and instead of charging me for the whole weekend only charged me for one night. I didn't know, when I check in and you don't charge me for all the people in the party I assumed that maybe the children were free. The rest of our party came in late on Friday night after the office was closed so we went in the next morning to pay for the extra adults that checked in. In the beginning reservation of two sites there were 4 adults and 2 children we added 4 more adults the first night. It was said to us when we made the reservations they didn't care how many were there as long as they were paid for. The second night we had another adult added who went to the office and paid for himself. 3-4 hours later when it is dark and late the owner comes onto our campsite with an attitude counting our tents and people and telling her we owe her more money. Now you have to understand it is late and not all the people in the site are staying some are visiting and some are from other sites in the campground. After 15 minutes of going round and round with her we finally decide to pay her the money she wants so she will leave then she tells us that we were too loud last night (even though she wasn't there) and that they were getting complaints. How anyone could hear anything given the location of our tents is beyond me. We had other campers come up to us to tell us we were not loud at all and that. I was sleeping soundly along with my children in the campsite the supposed loud people. The owner is rude and a liar and her employees say one thing and do another. It was a terrible experience. To show up for a relaxing weekend of camping and then be harassed for a mere $15 is ridiculous. I will never go there again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The park is clean but it is not worth it at all. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

They charge you extra for everything. $5 for a visitor pass, $5 for a cable hookup, etc. They also have very strict rules about curfew and visitors. They only accept cash or check, as an FYI. Location was fine and sites were pretty nice but you're close to your neighbor and it doesn't feel worth it for all the strict rules. read more

The most well kept and clean campground we've ever stayed at. The sights are all beautiful and feel private and secluded. Janet is very sweet and has stories to tell if you give her the chance, we enjoyed talking with her. Originally we were only going to stay a night but felt so comfortable here, we're going on night four. Definitely the best campground in the area. read more

This is one of our favorite getaways. The grounds are nicely maintained and the sites are nice and private. There are a lot of rules -which are fine with us, but they want to charge you extra for everything - which sends a very negative message. This is the ONLY decent place to stay in the area. We have taken time to drive through all the places with full hook ups and POMO is the only one we will stay at. We have stayed here several times and have always found it to be clean and well maintained. No AT&T cell service and the WIFI is really slow. On our last visit we where faced with a couple of issues. Initially when we made the reservation, they didn't have a site that was open for 5 nights. They wanted us to move sites after the first night. We called back and told them that we would arrive 1 day later to avoid moving. Who wants to move and rehook up a 35' trailer? They made no reservation change on their end so they called us in route asking what was up. When we checked in there was still issues to deal with. It all worked out, but they need to do a better job keeping track of things on their end. read more

Not very impressed. The campsites, however, are decent, level and private. But it really is unbelievable that when you pay nearly 50 bucks a night, they then nickle and dime you with coin operated, timed showers that costs at least $1in a stall that is even smaller than the one in a class c. Also, laundry is 4.25 for one wash and dry cycle. Finally wifi is not free after 3 days, but we left before then. read more

My family has stayed at this campground for many years because it is generally clean, well maintained, and provides full hook-ups and space for the large rigs (although, on this trip, the bathrooms were closed up and the showers were not working properly). The staff and owners, however, have nearly always been generally cranky or downright rude. The overall feel of the camp is not relaxing nor happy, as one would appreciate while on vacation, and they have lots of little "rules". One of these rules, for example, is that kids are apparently not allowed to ride their bicycles around in the park (which we found out a number of years ago when they yelled at our kids for doing just that). This campground is not tent friendly at all. On this last trip, we had moved the entire crew (comprised of 6 rigs) to an area closer to the tent camping area, because "it is against the rules" to have a tent anywhere near the rig sites. Annoying to say the least, but it's their campground, so I guess they can do whatever craziness they want. The thing that was disturbing was that two spots down from our tent camper was a creepy van parked in a tent spot with what appeared to be someone living in it. They let their dogs out of the van on a leash, without ever getting out themselves to walk, or clean up after, the dogs. It was unnerving. And it made our tent camper a little nervous. I personally find it odd, not to mention a poor business decision, that it is not okay to put a tent in a camper spot (even if you are paying the extra money for the camper spot), but you can live in your creepy van on site. But here is the real and serious problem with this campground. A few years ago the owner's son accused us of speeding in the campground. The thing was, we were actually going so slow that the speed bumps in the camp stopped the truck! We had to step on the gas to get OVER the speed bumps. We were driving THAT slow! So how this guy could think we were actually speeding is beyond me. But, I don't mean that he wondered over to us and expressed his concern in a calm manner. He yelled and screamed and accused. When we calmly tried to explain that we didn't feel we were speeding he screamed that we were calling him a liar and threatened to kick us out. Very very confrontational. Eventually, we calmed the situation down. However, this year, it happened again, and this time he not only declared that he was "going to SCHOOL us on how to drive the proper speed limit", but he also threatened physical violence, and resorted to name calling. We left. And we will NEVER return. We have given this place so many "2nd" chances it borders on insanity. There are other nice, and much more pleasant, campgrounds in the area. It's not worth the negative feel of the place, and the potential threat of physical violence, to go there. read more

When we checked in Ellen was very nice and helpful. We met Larry - one of the owners and had daily visits with him. He was pleasant and always available to answer questions. The rules were many but we felt necessary for a peaceful and safe environment. The facilities are excellent. The only negative was the older lady who owns the campground. We checked out a day early and she refused to refund our money stating " we don't give back money". read more

We recently stayed at Pomo RV and loved it!!! Our site was so spacious and this park is so neat and clean!! They are constantly cleaning all over the park...each site has a great fire pit using a washing machine drum...they sell wood right there and they give you a lot for $30.00. No need to bring your own. They do charge for showers but since we used the one in our RV it was no big deal. The bathroom itself was spotless!! I've heard people say they've had problems with the management there but we didn't have that happen to us. I do think that they prefer the older crowd vs people with children. However as long as the rules are listened to and obeyed they welcome all...we feel in order to keep this RV park so nice they have to be forceful with there rules...they don't accept credit or debit cards but do except checks n cash!! read more

My family stays here every year on Labor day..Usually its an OK experience. This year was totally different!! The lady that checked us in was totally rude, not only to us but to the people ahead of us! We were surprised byan additional almost $100 charge for having more than 2 people per site. Having told them how many people would be per site upon calling and reserving, never being told there would be more charges. Also 2 of the 4 showers were not working and I heard at least 4 other couples complaining about the rude service..I doubt we will go back next year! read more

I have read alot of negative reviews, and all I can say is, how much we love the place!! Yes, they have a lot of rules, but my husband and I appreciate the rules, and the fact that their inforced!! It's the most beautiful place I've ever seen, and the most peaceful place along with the beauty of it. The grounds are constantly kept up, and kept beautiful. The owners and their staff treat you like part of their family. We've been going there for 14 years, and wouldn't go anywhere else. If you love peace and quiet with rules to follow, then that is the place to go. I feel safe and secure there because of their rules. If people can't handle the rules, then Personally, I wouldn't want them there. The rules are there for the safety of you and your family and pets. Without rules, Pomo wouldn't be safe, and we wouldn't stay there. If you don't like the rules, try one of the state parks, Yuk!!!! Pomo camp and RV is for your relaxation and beauty. We really do appreciate it!!! THe owners work hard to keep Pomo safe from people who don't obey rules, so people like us can enjoy a beautiful and relaxed atmosphere with the whole facility being as clean as it is. Yes, you have to pay for a nice hot shower. But they have to pay for the propane to heat the water so you can have hot water. These extra charges are the reason why is kept up so nice. Try another camp ground, and check out their bathroooms and showers. I've seen a few others in the area. I wouldn't want my pets near any of them. 1.25 gives you a great shower. Wow!!! DO NOT CAMP HERE! (I wish that I could give 0 stars). My husband and and I are camping across the street at Woodside RV park (which is great by the way) and we decided that we would go for a little bike ride to check out other campgrounds close by! We rode across the street to check out Pomo and it was really nice upon arrival (full of expensive motor homes and older folks). We rode around the campground checking out their tent spots, when we were so rudely approached by an older man on a golf cart. He asked us if we were camping there, we told him no but that we were camping across the street and we were just riding through to check out the campground and possibly camp there next time. He started laying into us, telling us to turn around, that he knows that we saw the signs, etc.. My husband replied very kindly saying no that we didn't see the signs and that we were sorry. The guy continued to talk to us like we were lying to him and like we were dirt. He went ahead and assumed that we lived at Woodside RV park (because there are residents there) and my husband had to explain to him that we just arrived today from out of town and that we were tent camping. Overall, if you are a laid back, family type person, I would NOT camp there! This is an uptight, rude, stuck up "camp ground". End of story! On the other hand, the folks over at Woodside RV park are so so friendly, laid back, family oriented, dog friendly and welcoming! Head over there! read more

Stayed at Pomo Campground over the 4th of July weekend and was very disappointed. The facilities were excellent, but the attitude of the personnel was abysmal, very rude. My grandson drove up from Healdsburg for a day visit. One employee raced up in a golf cart to complain about his speeding through the campground. Really? I was with him in the car and he couldn't have been going over 8 to 10 mph. The campground speed limit is 5 mph. Okay, he was going over the recommended speed limit, but he didn't deserve the chewing out by the employee. He appropriately apologized several times, to no avail, and was demanded to go to the office, register and pay the auto day visit fee of $5.00. AN AUTO DAY VISIT FEE??? Never heard of such a fee. Been going to RV parks for over 60 years and never encountered an auto day visit fee. When he got to the office, the rudeness continued. The lady (generic term, she wasn't a lady) continued the rudeness, by telling him he just didn't like rules, and on and on. He parked outside the park and walked in. Won't be back!! read more
