The chef needs to learn how to cook risotto. I had the short ribs and table mate had the scallops. Meats were well prepared and delicious. The risotto was 7 or 8 minutes underdone. I have been to Italy on numerous occasions. This was the worst risotto I've ever been served in a restaurant here in the US. The waitress advised that many patrons had complained the risotto was undercooked. When she advised the chef she was told that's what risotto should taste like. Had my wife's birthday dinner here last week. We were a party of seven. We arrived at 7:45 for our reservations and were seated right away. We were soon greeted by our waitress. She was great. Knowledgable and always checking to see if we needed anything during our meal. We never felt rushed and actually we were the last table to leave the restaurant. Everyone raved about their dinners, Chicken parm, Veal parm, penne pasta, fish and risotto, along with the desserts were all well prepared and flavorful. House salad dressing is a must. This place is amazing. We poped in on a Friday evening in April. We did make reservations...rightly so. We needed them. We had about four of us in our party and had 1 veal, 2 pasta dishes and 1 salmon dish. All were absolutely awesome!!! Servers were superb...no pressure to order. We took our time, had wine, ordered and ate leisurely. The servers were efficient, courteous, clean, well coiffed and polite. All of the food was excellent, atmosphere perfect and prices reasonable. This is one of those places one wants to go to try everything on the menu. We all will be back...sooner rather than later. Go! read more

We didn't have a reservation on a busy Saturday evening but was told that we could get a table in an hour's time. We decided to get ice-cream first and come back. When we arrived an hour later we were seated right away and a young male server came by to say he would be taking our drink order in a while. 20 minutes later he still wasn't back (my hubby and stepdaughter were very patient). In the meantime a couple came in and sat at a table near us, their drink orders where taken right away and was given the specials. Their drinks arrived with the bread and their orders taken. Still no server to take our drinks. My hubby went to the hostess I didn't know what he told her but a minute later a lady server, Karen, came rushing to our table very apologetic. She didn't offer the specials so I had to ask for it. We finally ordered our drinks and main courses. The couple next to us was just finishing their meal. We all thought the food was very good but the SERVICE IS VERY SPOTTY depending on who your server is. I have read other similar reviews about the service (the young male server was serving other customers and just kept walking by our table). Shout out to Karen who saved the day therefore the 3 stars. She comped our drinks and was going to comp our dessert as well but we didn't feel like having it. I would go back and also recommend the restaurant to others because our food choices were excellent. The warm appetizers are no longer a part of the menu. At the restaurant on 09/05/2014. My Penne Oscar, very very good. My wife went off the regular menu and received a very salty Eggplant Parmesan. Her meal was so salty that her eyes got swollen ,puffy . She is okay not life threading ,but no more discount meals for her. Look nobody is perfect all the time. We got 2 brick oven pizzas for takeout and it was sooooo good! The staff was very friendly. Next time we vacation in Vero we will eat in at the restaurant and try other foods which looked so good as the servers were bringing them out to the tables. Had dinner here with a business friend. This was my first time at this restaurant which was recommended by a resident. The menu has a nice complete selection of Italian dishes. We had a very nice dinner of eggplant parmigiana and lasagna. Both dishes were delicious and well prepared. All entrees come with a nice salad. We decided to try Pomodoro Grill during the slow summer season, when they had summer specials. Which were good all evening, not just for a few hours. We made reservations and were glad we did ~ they were full! we ended up at a small table for two infront of where the waiters pick up their beverages. So we had someone standing right next to us the whole time we ate. For the waiters to get to the tables on the other side of us, they needed to squeeze between our chairs and the chairs behind us, so needless to say, we were bumped and bumped the whole time we ate as they went back and forth. Our waiter was not on the ball at all. After we ordered, we overheard another waitress telling the table next to us the wine specials and different type of pastas offered that we had no clue were available. Our waiter also tried to set down the wrong food for us, after a few times telling him, he realized his mistake. BUT, with all this said, the FOOD was GREAT!! Only food problem was the garlic knots were a not as fresh as WE thought they could be. We will try here again, hopefully get a different table and waiter. read more

Walked by several times with my wife while here for our anniversary - glad we did. The food was fresh, not too much and certainly not too little. Good Italian food with authentic tastes and fresh ingredients. The staff was friendly and service very prompt. My wife loved the Puttanesca (with added chili) which was a riot of color and rich in flavor, my sea food linguini fra diavolo was also really good although could have used a little more spicy kick in my opinion. Nice selection of wines at reasonable prices! Only minor complaint was the paper napkins which for a restaurant of this caliber seems a little of a false economy and because they do not have a liquor license we could not finish our meal with a much desired limoncello. My linguine con Vongole was very good, but the service was terrible. We waited a very long time for our food and the waiter was rude. My daughter has a nut allergy and asked the waiter for clarification about whether they were nuts in several dishes. He later dropped a bowl of Parmesan cheese in front of her and rudely said "no nuts." The waiter didn't know the menu, and my daughter's dish, which was described as being in a cream broth, was simply a tomato sauce. Not worth the wait or the poor service. read more

Let me begin with what was right: service was very good, garlic rolls were to die for, friendly staff and appeared very clean. We both ordered the Oscar Penne, but requested angel hair pasta in lieu of the Penne. The pasta was extremely overcooked and was pasty and mushy. I could not even finish more than a quarter of my dish as it was pasty and glue-like. The seafood (scallops, shrimp and crab) in it was great though!We told out server that it was badly overcooked, but nothing was done about it. We used to go to Pomodoro years ago, but have not been awhile because the last time we went the seafood tasted and smelled "fishy". We arrived early for our reservation which was at 5:30pm so the restaurant was not yet busy when we received our meal. I had grilled snapper that I could not cut. The manager said the fish got wet and the cook wrapped in paper towels and squeeze it to dry it out. He said nobody else complain about it. My mother and I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. First, seated in a very hot corner with no/little air conditioning. Then we waited 30 mins for bread and an appetizer. Another 30 mins for entrees by which time my mother was no longer hungry. She had one bite of her Veal Marsala and then took the rest home. However, when she went to heat up her dinner 2 days later, there was NO VEAL. Guess the. Us oh there it out or ate it himself. We were extremely disappointed by our dinner for which we spent $100. It was supposed to. E my treat to my mom - what a disappointment. My mom got no satisfaction when she called to complain. They have now stopped making their delicious brick oven pizza as we discovered on arrival. So fine, we adjusted and ordered. I have eaten there in past years and it was o.k. I ordered the chicken piccata, hard to mess that up right? It was a half breast and was not even pounded to even thickness. The sauce was so watery it left a puddle in the plate and to make it worse it was covered heavily in a parsley garnish that made it bitter and not at all creamy. The chicken was tough as it was a thick breast and inherently takes longer to cook. Any chef knows this. The capers were scarce and possibly over cooked which makes them bitter as well. The side of thin sliced squash and mixed veggies was just so so. This dish was a total flop for this kind of money. Another of our group had the tomato slices with mozzarella slices atop. The plum toms were something right off a supermarket shelf.. tasteless and mealy. The cheese was fine. Again a flop. The other dish was their signature sausage and peppers pasta dish. the sausage was not very generous nor inspiring. The pasta and peppers were adequate but nothing great. The waitress was nice but she clearly was not going to tell the owner anything he did not want to hear when I informed her of the piccata. They did have a nice house pinot noir though. At the end I ordered an espresso only to be told it was out of service or not even available, it was un clear really. Come on guys, an Italian grill with no expresso and a full Italian menu? Save your money folks, this emperor has no clothes and has not been worth it for years. If they are trying to go upscale it takes more than ridding the pizza oven and raising prices. Nonetheless, the suckers line up to get in there during season. They should have ditched the menu and kept the pizza in my opinion. read more
