The atmosphere was great and our server Sebastian was friendly knowledgable and very attentive. The filet mingon with the mushroom Demi glaze was incredible, my girlfriend loved hers as well. Good solid Italian restaurant. Large menu with all the expected specialties. Oftentimes a good fish special as well. Servers are well versed in the menu and attentive. Can be noisy at times. We live across the street. They are very busy and popular. Couple of weeks ago our son ordered a chicken pasta dish that came and was served with very very little penne pasta. He complained. Last week we took our good friends for dinner. The hors d'oerves went well and were tasty. But then we had to wait for more than an hour before the main course was served. Unbearable! (even though the seafood dishes were good, but by then we would have eaten anything! Then the bison steak was served incredibly undercooked. After waiting more than an hour we sent that back, and it still came back undercooked, and below grade with gristle. When we call to talk to the owner, he said only that we should expect such a long wait. We will not be going back. read more

The first night we were greeted by Jasmine at the door. We didn't have reservations but she kindly instructed us on how to get seats at the bar. She was helpful, warm and funny. Sure enough we did eventually get seats at the bar. The pastas we ordered were amazing! We went back a couple nights later because the food was just so good. This is my third time at Trattoria Dario while visiting Vero Beach and each time it has been wonderful. However, our recent was exceptional. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by the very welcoming hostess, that also took into account our 3 year old, by offering a coloring book and a booster seat, to our fantastic server Vernon, everything was amazing. Vernon was so kind, knowledgeable and attentive and the food was delicious as always. I highly recommend the lobster ravioli and their fried caprese salad. Food: We really enjoyed the large menu and had a hard time choosing what to order because multiple dishes looks really delicious! Calamari - the calamari was crispy and not overly fried. The only missing piece is that it was not seasoned at all so we added some salt and pepper. Beef carpaccio - we really enjoyed the beef carpaccio! The arugula was perfectly lemoned on top. There were semi-raw mushrooms in the arugula salad on top which we think don't need to be there. Beggar's purse with crumbled sausage added - this was delicious and unique! The light pear flavor balanced well with the perfectly truffled cream sauce. Snapper - the snapper was buttery and perfectly sauced. Service: The service was excellent-- our waiter has the idea to add the sausage to the beggar's purse dish and this was a fantastic idea. Ambiance: We love the mood lighting and red booths. First time here, party of 4 in the bar area, corner high top table. Noise, comfort and energy level were just fine. Our server Ryan was fantastic, knowledgeable efficient and friendly. Two in our party had the veal chop. We asked for the chef to make the call on how it was prepared and it was just excellent. My wife got the pompano special, she really enjoyed it. Returned tonight, having been away from this for a while. It was very busy and noisy. There was a large party beside us celebrating a young child's birthday. I enjoyed the chicken piccata although slightly salty, more so than average. Very acceptable. Our guest enjoyed the Gnocchi...great! My wife ordered shrimp (4 served), mashed potatoes (1 scoop...delicious) and broccoli. That wasn't good. Instead of the broccoli, she received broccolini which she couldn't cut...very stringy. It wasn't until we were 3/4 through dinner that our server came back to check on our dinners. My wife stated that she wasn't happy with the broccolini and that she could neither cut nor chew it. The waitress immediately suggested a steak knife rather than offering her something else! My wife declined the steak knife. The waitress, obviously too busy, walked away. Shortly, she returned and started clearing the table while I was still eating! Very rude! We asked her to come back after all of us had finished, not just two of us. (We were a party of four). When the bill was presented, the waitress asked if everyone was happy. My wife again stated that she wasn't at all happy with the broccolini. The waitress snapped back "I offered you a steak knife" and walked away. Oh yes, 4 shrimp, 1 scoop of potatoes and broccolini was charged as Pasta Semplice...$52.00. Volume of noise from conversations around us was quite tolerable. Outside patio warm and cozy. Service very good. Needed to ask for a seat cushion which was missing on 2 out of 4 chairs. A glass of Red wine way too warm to drink; Florida room temperature is not good a good wine temp. they kindly took it back and the white was nicely chilled. Very nice selection of glasses of Italian wines. Grilled Cesar salad is very good. Beet salad just fine. Fish of the day (pompano) was very good. It the Pasta was amazing! The beggars purse pasta was so sweet and wonderful! Our table mates loved the lobster ravioli. Desserts were good too. We will go back. We have gone back. read more

Was so excited to come back after our previous experiences a year prior. Everything was less fantastic this time around. We sat at the bar, service was ok. Food was quick. Bottle of wine which was a Willamette Pinot Noir- good flavor, decent price. Italian wedge salad- good, a bit too heavy on the dressing Lasagna- lukewarm in certain pieces, distribution of sauce and cheese was spotty. Flavor was decent. My favorite Italian restaurant in Vero changed formats a couple years ago so this was my first time visiting what has become the Family's go-to Italian spot. I had the carpaccio, a caesar salad and the orecchiette Barisi, it was unbelievable. Finished the meal with a wonderful tiramisu and cappuccino. The service was outstanding. There is nothing special about the feel, the ambiance of the place, acceptable, not great, but when the food and service is five-star, you don't need to be further tantalized by your surroundings. read more

I just want to give a huge shout out to Trattoria Dario. We got married this weekend and chose this venue to host our family dinner to celebrate with everyone. From start to finish, everything was so incredibly organized and stress free. Derek the manager I talked too originally to book the reservation for 25-30 was so helpful and kind. He personally messaged me menu's and worked with me on ordering. He even came and hugged us at the end of our dinner which was so personal. Deedee Maiorca and Joe were our servers... and I have to say, not only were they incredibly patient with allowing our party time to mix and mingle with each other, they were so organized with getting drinks out so promptly to everyone and not one person had an empty glass.... THE ENTIRE TIME. Their service is what you search for in vero and what we really needed to make the night even better. Now to the food. You would think that having a limited menu would mean the kitchen just pushes it out easily with no thought or love. THIS IS NOT THAT KIND OF PLACE. Every plate of food had so much love and passion cooked into it that we were floored every course. We had caprese salad and calamari for apps... phenomenal. The calamari was so perfectly cooked and the caprese was so fresh we had to go back for seconds. My 19 month old even had seconds lol. Now for the entrees. Not one steak was cooked wrong, the chicken piccatta *chefs kiss* but the star of the show.... the Salmon Crudo ... Good lord was that heaven on a plate. Everyone that ordered it was floored. I even stole a sample from my mom and instantly regretted not getting it. Everything was perfectly timed, beautifully presented and we just want to give the biggest of thanks to everyone person (Foh and boh) that took part into finishing out what has to be one of the most perfect weekends of our lives.
