Packaged completely all wrong. Plastic containers stacked wrong and in too small of a container, busted sauce everywhere and plastic in the food. Also hardly any sauce on the chicken parm, I had to open a jar of sauce and add. Normally good but this was way off. read more

Update. My wife orders from here more frequently. The order before our last order there were a few mistakes made. So the wife called to say "hey whats going on here". The owner himself called back and made everything right. Not to mention he is a really cool guy. No defensiveness just really cool and we were not being Karen's because I feel that vero has a very good food scene, and I love having great options when one of us is too lazy to cook. Had the best Pizza ever last week from Italian kitchen. It was Perfect! Crust was thin, cooked right temperature and not too Thick, the sausage,peppers and onions were great and the cheese and sauce was delicious. We called on 08/22/26 to order pick up. When the employee answered we received a rude "hello?!". We then proceeded to order the stuffed pizza, the employee immediately seemed annoyed by our request (we've heard in the past they don't care to make them). We live on the south side of town so it's a drive just to go there. Once we got home with our pizza we noticed the lack of toppings and that the whole bottom of the pizza was burnt. We've ordered this several times in the past so we are well aware of how the pizza is supposed to look and taste. We are severely disappointed by the service and the product we received tonight. And honestly don't know if we will give them our business going forward. If they really hate making the stuffed pizza so much, maybe take it off the menu instead of selling subpar product to your hard working customers. read more

I am finally getting around to reviewing this amazing Italian restaurant and pizza parlor located in the heart of Downtown Vero. Just west of Pocahontas Park located in the same building complex of Pocahontas Apartments, some might miss the restaurant because it is tucked north of the famous Rio Coco Cafe. However, if you like excellent Italian food, (okay, I will say Americanized Italian or New York Italian to not annoy homeland Italians) check this eatery out. First and foremost, the ambiance is quite simple. It has the nostalgic lore of a simple mom and pop Italian eatery, possibly on the lines of an osteria (if you know your types of Italian restaurants, this should help out a lot!). There is indoor and outdoor seating. My crew preferred outdoor as it was a beautiful afternoon. Our waitress, which I am ashamed to say I do not remember her name, was very friendly and gave me the suggestion of ordering the spicy white pizza. Seriously, that was one of the best pizza flavors I have ever eaten per se in uniqueness. Italian Kitchen's spicy white was on par in phenomenal taste as the Mellow Mushroom's Holy Shiitakke. That is saying a lot if you ever tried that flavor of pizza pie! We did also order garlic knots. They were delicious but, for me, I prefer them to be smaller. They were about the size of a baseball in spherical shape. A couple of details worth noting: the restaurant was clean, which includes the restroom (well, the men's room), and the outdoor seating is shaded with the building's second floor overhead. Take that detail into account as it means shade from both the sun and rain depending on the weather. I will definitely return to try out more of Italian Kitchen's food. For now, I am giving this restaurant four out of five stars, the highest I give any restaurant these days for an initial visit. The fifth star will be earned if Italian Kitchen is consistent. read more

As this was our 2nd visit to Italian Kitchen, we knew that the Garlic Knots were a must! The chicken piccata was nicely cooked and sauced. Our server was great! Despite being very busy, she kept checking on us and did a fine job. We will definitely keep coming back to enjoy their food. read more

We were very pleasantly surprised with how good our dinner was here! Our usual Italian haunt when we visit Vero was closed for the day so we had to quickly audible. This is a no frills restaurant, serving hot pizza and plenty of pasta dishes. The server has extremely kind and accommodating to modification requests. We each enjoyed our entrees very much! Was craving Italian and this place is recommended. I ordered the chicken parmesan and it came with a side salad and garlic knots.m to go to eat at home. The host over the phone said pick up time was about 20 minutes so I arrived around that time and so took a little bit longer than expected. The cashier and staff wasn't so friendly. I even heard the service complaining about the tips being put on the credit card, and not receiving cash tips, so I made sure to give a cash tip because I k now how hard it can be. When I got home, I immediately opened up my food to eat, and I wasn't really so impressed with the quality of the food to be honest mozzarella. Didn't even give me that melting sensation. I could've done better at home. When I walked into the Italian kitchen, I was hit by an aroma that could only mean 1 thing. This was going to be good. I"ll ruin the suspense by letting you know that I was right. We ordered a medium antipasto and an 18" pizza with sausage, onions and mushrooms. The antipasto was full of meats and cheeses. The Italian dressing that it was served with brought all of the flavors together perfectly. The pizza was perfectly cooked. The crust was completely crispy with no flop. The high quality cheese along with the fresh toppings made this the best pizza that I have had to date in Vero Beach. We ended the meal with some zeppolli which made our meal complete and left us happy. I will be back soon to try the delicious looking meatballs that I saw coming out of the kitchen. The food and service were excellent! If you're in the area, stop by. You won't be sorry. ***Update: The food was so good, we skipped the corn beef and cabbage on this St. Patty's Day and had Chicken wings, meatballs, and a white pie. The wings were crisp, juicy and flavorful, the meatballs were actually meat and not all bread. They had a great texture and flavor topped off with a nice marinara. The white Pie was perfect. We've come here many times, so tonight we brought guests with us. BIG Mistake! 1) James, our waiter, brought three meals together; My Ziti with marinara arrived 10 minutes later; 2) No bread was ever brought, even though it was ordered by all of us; 3) Our service was terrible; 4) Our meals were actually embarrassing. 5) Men's / Women's bathrooms were filthy! Dine in | Dinner It is very sad and disappointing I have been patronizing the Italian kitchen for over 10 years, this evening 1-4-2025 I ordered a chicken parm dinner at over $20.00 the portion size was about a child portion. I believe the chicken was only about 4 to 6 oz. I understand prices have increased but the portion size was ridiculous. Manger came to the table and informed me that is the price and the portion size.... Basically was saying oh well. Never will I patronize or recommend the Italian Kitchen..... PS As I am writing this two people walked out because they were waiting an extended amount of time while tabes were sitting empty waiting to be bussed.... Went on a Thursday night at 6:30 with 2 friends. We were able to be seated immediately, however service was extremely slow. After 10-15 minutes our waitress took our drink orders. When she returned with the drinks, she then took our food orders. One person ordered a cheese pizza and asked if they could have a little extra red sauced added to the pizza and was told there would be an upcharge for the price of a topping ($2.20). Feeling that would be an overcharge, no extra sauce was requested. A few minutes later our garlic knots and garlic toast were delivered to the table. It took about 30 minutes for our dinner entrees to come out, and in the meantime the dining room was extremely warm, and our salads never arrived. When our entrees were brought to the table, we asked about our salads which the waitress apologized for forgetting and came back with them a few minutes later. Two of us had chipped dinner plates (which should be taken out of circulation), and they ran out of chilled beer mugs. On the upside, compliments to the chef who did a nice job on our dinner entrees including the evening special of chicken marsala, eggplant parmesan, and cheese pizza. No complaints on the food with the exception of the time that passed from ordering to delivery. Our waitress was not overly attentive, fairly rushed, and when she delivered the bills for our dinner tabs, she pretty much dropped them off on the edge of the table and without a word; walked away. She never thanked us for dining with them or extend an invitation to come back and dine again, etc. Our large pizza was boxed up into a small pizza box with slices layered 3 deep on top of each other instead of a big box. Maybe they ran out of their larger pizza boxes? If the service and atmosphere had been better, I could have easily awarded 4 stars to this restaurant, but unfortunately it was just not up to par. More air conditioning is needed in the dining area. The Italian Kitchen feels more like the Hot Kitchen.... nothing like sweating through your entire meal. Food is good enough that we'll be back, but hopefully to an improved experience next visit. read more

I so wanted to love this place but sadly we were so disappointed. First- cute decor but dirty- wait staff was friendly but lackluster. The food tasted old - absolutely not fresh. The sauce was old and the soup was not fresh either- so unnecessary! Meatballs tasted frozen and Olive Garden is better so sadly, we won't be back. Ordering take-out Italian earlier this week reminded me to leave a review. The Lewis family has eaten at the Italian Kitchen dozens of times since moving to Vero Beach a few years ago. Our family favorite is the "Combo Special," which includes lasagna, ravioli, ziti, stuffed shells, and meatball with homemade tomato sauce and melted mozzarella cheese. My kids are traditional when it comes to pizza - they simply order a cheese pie. I prefer the "Chef's Special," which includes pepperoni, sausage, onion, meatball, bacon, olives, mushrooms, peppers, and garlic. Service is always friendly and polite - we've never had a problem or issue. Even on take-out orders. Located on 14th Avenue in downtown Vero Beach, parking is tight at the Italian Kitchen. I always enjoyed this little place. The service and food was good until yesterday. Ordered take out, went to pick up and the girl at the counter had a very nasty attitude. When I walked in, she was yelling at the lady already at the counter. It was obvious to everyone in there, as people were looking at her. We started to order salads and garlic knots when the waitress informed us the all you can eat pasta for a paltry $11.99 included salad and two garlic knots. The salad was huge and the knots were excellent. I had meat sauce over ziti and my wife had the Alfredo. Both were excellent and the portions were larger than when we were here a couple of years before. When we asked for seconds the waitress laughed that we could eat more.
