Terrible, terrible, terrible company. They are based in Pomona which is ten miles away. These freakin knuckleheads are towing cars left and right from a vacant parking lot adjacent to the Covina Walmart. A parking lot which is not being used as the business which used to be here left the area two and a half years ago. There are absolutely NO signs whatsoever indicting that vehicles are not allowed to park in this lot. Simply read the many negative reviews of these tow truck drivers impounding vehicles belonging to hard working, honest and innocent citizens simply shopping at Walmart. Imagine what a terrible feeling you would have if you returned to your parked vehicle after running in to buy milk, diapers, toilet paper etc.. only to discover that your vehicle had been towed simply for parking in a parking lot adjacent to Walmart, is not being used by anyone and there are no signs whatsoever indicating that it is illegal to park in this same lot. There are numerous homeless people who also park their vehicles and motor homes here but these crooks are only targeting people whom they know have the means to pay the $385.00 fee they have been charging everyone. Several individuals whom I spoke to have retained two attorneys and will be filing suit shortly. I truly hope they teach these shady tow truck drivers and their company, a lesson or two and hit them HARD financially. I sold my car on Peddle.com and scheduled for my car to be picked up on 9/23/24 between 3pm - 8pm PT. My car wasn't picked up until a day later at around 4:30 pm because the driver was busy the day before and had to reschedule. When the driver got here he was rude and got upset at me for not signing the title correctly, telling me to "follow directions" even though he himself did a poor job of giving directions. For example he wanted me to sign on a certain line but pointed to the line below it, expecting me to sign on the top line even though he was pointing to the bottom. I could've sworn he told me to "get out of here" as soon as he wrote the check for my vehicle. In my head I'm like "I live here, pendejo. You get out of here!". These guys need to get their stuff together. I understand they probably deal with a lot but there's no need to take it out on customers, especially when said customer has been waiting a whole day for his car to be picked up. I had a different car because my car was in the shop. It had been a month at the new apartment complex (Helix university, which I'll have to write a separate review, because they're awful as well) and I had the sticker for parking visible on the dash (I only get one so I didn't stick it to the car because it wasn't mine) and for an entire month it was never an issue. The sticker was visible on the dash and for some reason the tow company the Helix university apartments use which is this company, decided to tow my car for no reason. I wasn't illegally parked or anything. I lived at the apartments and again, never been an issue. $605 that I had to pay to get the car out and they agreed the sticker was in the car they just said "it wasn't taped" but the sticker was visible and in fact on the dash but they wouldn't even take anything off. Supposedly they have pictures for proof but wouldn't even show the property manager of the apartment complex. It is honestly so CRIMINAL to take property that was totally fine being where it was at, and then having people pay to get the car out when it shouldn't have been towed in the first place. I'm hoping there isn't damage to the car, and I'm considering looking into getting a lawyer. I'd rate zero stars if I could. The people were insanely rude and had zero customer service skills even the manager. HORRIBLE. read more

They have been illegally towing vehicles from Walmart/ Fallas on Azusa and Arrow Hwy. They park around the Fallas store. It has been reported about 5 victims now. First of all I don't understand why they are in Covina if Jan's Towing is the main tow company for all of those area. I just got my car towed in the parking lot of Walmart in Covina. I have parked in that area for years. I haven't never seen any signs that show that Walmart customers can't parked there at a store that has been closed for over one year. Funny thing that there was 4 other cars parked next to my car, two of the cars were homeless people sitting in their cars. When, I got out of the store, the same cars were there except my car. Don't waste your time calling. The dispatcher was kind and patient, but the driver, Joe was extremely rude, couldn't follow directions, interrupted me when I was trying to give him directions, and drove around looking for my car for an hour before he gave up and I had to call another towing company. Apparently Joe was the only driver available when I called. To make matters worse, after he told me I didn't know where I was, I watched his truck drive past me on the entrance ramp, but he didn't see me because he was texting on his phone. I sent him a text immediately after, which he completely ignored, I am assuming out of embarrassment, and drove away. This towing company made me wait on the shoulder of the freeway for over an hour and then abandoned me because their driver doesn't have access to Maps in his truck, insists he knows better than everyone else, and could not listen to step-by-step directions, or follow a map location I sent to his company. Got my car impounded yesterday night and I went to pick it up today and I called before to make sure I was going to the right place. A lady answers and tell me it is and that the price was gonna be $380.50. I get to the place and they end up charging me $517.60. These people are only here to scam. So apparently Pomona Valley Towing has authorization from California Bank & Trust in Claremont to tow vehicles parked in a shared public parking lot hours after the bank is closed and not conducting business. The tow company is predatory. They will wait for you to park and not long after will tow you and anyone else parked in those spots to the tow yard. There are no signs at the entrance of the lot saying parking not allowed, it's a public parking lot and even on each individual parking sign there is no specific information about no parking after business hours. I was charged $483 tonight to get my car out of the tow yard. I will be looking further into this matter legally and reporting this towing company, along with the bank for confusing patrons in the area about parking in spots with no mention of completely prohibiting parking or making clear mention that parking isn't allowed after business hours. Also something to note, the middle aged man who retrieved my car thought jt was appropriate to crack jokes when he pulled my car up to the gate and as I walked to my vehicle to grab my registration, I told him that I needed to check my glove compartment as i tend to lock it normally, he said "no its not locked". I told him, "Excuse me? How would you know that? Were you going through my vehicle?" Then he said "Ma'am I'm a professional." Extremely unprofessional if you ask me. I just handed my key over and within a few minutes the man already checked to see what was unlocked inside of my vehicle? What kind of business is this? One last thing I'd like to add, I am a new mother and hardly get any down time outside of work and family life to unwind. The one night I decide to, this happens. Horrible customer service ripping people off is not okay, especially from the owner of the company himself. He was trying to charge mean extra $100 on top of the $395 I paid because I was trying to pick up my car "after hours" even though the guy on the phone claimed they close at 7and I can pick up before then, I came at 6:50 and he wanted to charge me the extra $100, in addition to that he charged me an extra $59 because of a "storage fee" even thought I picked up my car a few hours after and they already charge per minute of the car being on the lot. Horrible horrible customer service, rude and unkind. He kept telling me to be patient even thought mid question he would disappear. I asked what the $59 was and he just said that it the fee "these are my rules, do you want the car or not, if you do you have to pay." He Initially did not want to tell me why I am paying this much he just said u will get the receipt after you pay. I am a student and that was just very inhuman and unkind.
