Overall rating: 4.5 I went here last year and didn't really like it too much. I thought it was overpriced and/or should be labeled under fine dining. However, I recently tried again this year for a happy hour special I saw on my feed I wanted to try out. I'm glad I did! They did a redesign of the store and it feels a lot more modern than when I previously went. The staff was soo friendly. The HH deal was a small appetizer and a quick snack for me. A beautiful date night spot. It's right by the Lorimer-Metropolitan subway stop; look for the P+C sign outside. Its exterior is unassuming but inside is an cozy, low-lit restaurant that is suited for conversation. It's perfect for when you want to impress a date or small group with tasty and fresh takes mediterranean/italian/middle eastern food that isn't pretentious or overly complicated. I keep returning because even with a curated menu, I can always find something that I and my guests will like. I recommend snagging a bar seat for 2 and watching the fresh, made-to-order pitas come out of their oven. This particular time I was a group of 4 so we sat at a low top table. Due to its size, I recommend making a reservation on Resy in advance but I've never had trouble finding a table. The plates are sharable. We especially loved both pitas and the foie gras. Its sherry gelée balances the buttery richness of the foie gras. We also ordered hummus and labneh. The menu slightly changes each time I go but I've enjoyed the hamachi, arugula salad, snap peas, risotto, fusilli, and lamb meatballs. My personal favorites were the hamachi, arugula salad, and snap peas (although it wasn't on the menu when I most recently went). They have an apertivo hour from 4-6:30PM that includes one pita, one dip, and one drink from their happy hour menu for $18 that I want to try next. read more

Was initially going to come here for restaurant week this year but failed to read the fine print and didn't realize their restaurant week menu was only available M-F. Despite this minor hiccup, my boyfriend and I still came here for dinner on a Saturday night and am so glad we did!! From their regular menu, we ordered the: - Semolina pita - Labneh - Lamb meatballs - Casarecce - Spritz First of all - their semolina pita is TO. DIE. FOR. I could eat mounds and mounds of this if I could. We paired this with their labneh, which was so refreshingly tangy. We also got their famous lamb meatballs - I don't like lamb so this dish wasn't for me but my boyfriend really enjoyed it! For our entree, we went with our waitress's suggestion and ordered the casarecce, which was heavenly - full of flavor with a little bit of a kick. Overall, absolutely loved this place. It's a small, cozy restaurant with great service and excellent food - will definitely be coming back here. I really wanted to love it, the ambiance is great, small cute restaurant. The service is impeccable! However the food didnt blow us away, the best pasta we had was the agnolotti. The bread was delicious as it came out straight from the oven nice and warm however we got a fish dish and pasta dish with tomato sauce that was recommended that we didn't love. Service and ambiance are great. The server was friendly and helpful and made great drinks. The hummus and pita was great but the entrees were nothing to write home about. We got the mushroom risotto which was good, the meatballs were nothing to write home about but good enough. The labneh or whatever is on top of it was a little too sour creamy flavor for me but not sure if that's just me. The reason I wrote this review is to say stay away from the baked vodka pasta, not sure if it's always like that but it was burnt as if I left it in my air fryer too long. Almost inedible. Such a cute little restaurant! The service was great and our server didn't miss a beat. He was super on top of every detail. We snagged a reso here same day for 7pm on a Saturday. We're were excited to try it out based on the Yelp reviews and really well curated menu. Their cocktail menu is really reasonably priced, and we ordered a perfect spritz for $10. Their bottles are also affordable and most range from $30-$50. We ordered a bottle of their only sparkling which was really mild and tasty. You should definitely order both the rye and semolina pita + the labneh, hummus, and onion dip. They were all delicious - and they also brought us some pickled vegetables to try which included summer squash and daikon. Don't sleep on the pickled vegetables! We also got the endive (not my fav), the tripe, lamb meatballs, and everything bagel pasta. I'm not a tripe fan, but if you are I hear this dish is tasty. The lamb meatballs and the everything bagel pasta were great, especially the cook and texture of the fresh pasta. Go for the dessert and an espresso martini to finish. My coworkers and I enjoyed an amazing molcajete mar, cielo y tierra, side of fries, and the many delicious Gloria's Margaritas super refreshing. Definitely food was great, super busy place, gets acquainted a lot by people, the atmosphere a little too loud but still manageable. Small, cozy restaurant in Williamsburg with really great service and good food! We came for happy hour, which is a really good deal. You get one pita, dip, and a drink for $16. We tried both the semolina and rye pitas, hummus and bottarga dips, and each got a spritz. Both pitas were really good - they came puffed up and steaming hot, were super fluffy on the inside but still crisp on the outside, and had a nice tang from the sourdough. The hummus was very solid, and the bottarga reminded me of cream cheese with a nice crunch and freshness from the onions. For mains, we got the agnolotti and the lamb meatballs. The meatballs were super soft and tender and I loved the tanginess of the pomegranate along with the sweetness of the tomato. I enjoyed the agnolotti as well, but it did feel a little too simple for my liking, as the predominant flavors were just lemon and butter. I was randomly in the area and I had P&C on my collection for a bit, so decided to call in some takeout. The idea of pasta with poppy seeds is new to me, not sure about you, but I was intrigued. Well guys, it's pretty good. Good in the way it's something I definitely want to try at home. A dish that is delicate and hearty at the same time, how, I cannot explain, flavorful but not salty, simple and yet grandiose. I recommend checking them out if you are in the area however, I swear I paid nearly 30$ for the one dish which is. A head scratcher for sure. unfortunately, I did not get a chance to dine at this establishment. I called to book a reservation and was told there weren't any available for the evening. However, they did accept walk-ins at the bar. Upon arrival there were two empty seats at the bar and my husband, and I proceeded to say we will sit by the bar and was told that they were reserved. I've never known of a restaurant to reserve bar side seating. Totally ridiculous. We decided to leave and was then approached by the hostess to ask what did I say when I said she must be crazy because no one everreserves tables at a bar. Very poor customer service. We ended up next-door at The Steakhouse and upon entry were welcome with open arms. That was P&C's loss as we were prepared to dine well and have lots drinks, but I'm glad that my money will be spent at an establishment who has earned it. read more

I was so excited to trying this restaurant, but I left severely disappointed. I don't understand how this restaurant has the rating it does. The food wasn't anything to go out of your way for. The labneh was too cream cheesy, the hummus wasn't creamy enough and needed more tahini, and the lamb meatballs had too much yogurt on them. The canestri rigati was decent, but still nothing to go out of your way for. The service was great, however, I think the server could sense we weren't thrilled with the meal and did not try to make amends for our disappointment. Despite all of this, they have a good concept. I love the small restaurant. It has a quaint feel. I love the oven and fresh bread idea. It has potential to be a great restaurant but is currently missing the mark. read more

Came here with a group of 4 on a Wednesday and it was easy to get reservations. The pitas and dips here are the star but everything is delicious. We ordered both pitas and they were freshly baked, crusty on the outside and fluffy on the inside. For dips we got duck liver mousse, bottarga (onion dip) and labneh. The chili in the labneh added a unique kick and flavor. We also got the snap peas which I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful they were. I also enjoyed the lamb meatballs we ordered which were very tender and nicely paired with the tomato and yogurt sauces. For pastas, we ordered the Casarecce and Linguine. The Casarecce had a nice kick to it from the Calabrian chili but I wish it had some meat in it. The linguine tasted like an everything bagel which was pretty unique. Everything we ordered was good but their pitas and dessert are where they truly shine. Pitas were delicious, ordered one of each kind (my sister and I both agreed the semolina was our favorite). Tried the duck liver mousse (very smooth, went great with the jam) and the onion dip (great flavor, definitely recommend). Also tried the clams, scallops, and meatballs, all of which were fresh and tasty if not particularly memorable. What WAS memorable was their salted caramel chocolate tart. They only have one dessert on the menu and as far as I'm concerned, it's the only dessert anyone needs. Just the thought of that warm chocolatey deliciousness is enough to make my mouth water. if you live in the williamsburg area, a must try. really very delicious. thought all of the flavors were really well done- will note that a lot of the dishes were heavy on the salt though but perhaps good with a glass of wine. the clams with bacon were probably my favorite. great pairing and even those who don't typically like shellfish can enjoy this dish. the pasta stuffed in anchovy butter sauce was also great, perhaps the pasta was slightly undercooked but overall really good. the cacciatore was our least favorite. it was well executed but think it just didn't match our palette and was quite salty. atmosphere of this place is cute too! beautiful dishes (waiter said they belonged to the owners grandmother) which was a nice touch. would note that the portions are quite small here as well so definitely order an extra dish or two than you normally might! read more

If it weren't so lush, this would be the definition of one of those "hole in the wall" spots people used to talk about, meaning hidden gems in the neighborhood that everyone loves but not on everyone's radar. Currently, they are even more hidden, getting crushed by construction from the elevator they're putting in at the Lorimer stop. I have not a single complaint. They were friendly and the food was good. The space is warm, inviting, handsomely done, and cozy. It's also small, so if you want a table, I would make a res, though they had plenty of seats at the bar. I loved their 50/50 martini, the food was all fabulous (it's share plates), and the service was great. Check it out! This is a great date spot. read more

Amazing food with great ambiance and wine! Came on a Tuesday night to catch up with a friend, and we had a great experience! Make sure to grab a reservation as the place is intimate and looked packed when we got there. We each got the NYC restaurant week menu for $45 - shared 1 of each fresh sourdough pita and hummus and labneh. The pitas were piping hot, tangy, and delicious! I do wish they were a bit crispier though. We then had the snap peas and salad which were delightfully refreshing! For the mains we had the cacciatore and scallops. Pasta was well cooked in a simple sauce, while the scallops were cooked to perfection. Chocolate torte warmed was the perfect note to end on. Not only was the food great, so was the wine! I had a skin contact wine from Spain, while my friend had the cab franc - they both complemented dinner so well. This is a wonderful place to catch up with someone or perhaps have an intimate meal with a loved one. Food and wine were wonderful! Will be back to try the happy hour! read more

My wife and I had a late dinner here on a Saturday night. The kindly i seated us at 10 pm with no hesitation and aired us that the kitchen was so open which we greatly appreciated. We started with their signature pitas - one rye and one semolina. Not sure if I've ever had artisan pita before but it reminded a lot of the crust of Neapolitan pizza. Airy with a bit of doughiness. A very nice char. We had it with a labneh and onion dips. The next dish that came out was the fluke crude. Great contrast of flavors with hits of sweet, spicy, bitter, sour, and savory. Light yet flavorful dish. Next came out clams with bacon. Never had the pairing before. Served in a super savory and butter saucy. This was a umami cannon. I thinks it's a must try. We had the scallops with Swiss chard after that. I wish the scallops were seared; I'm just a huge of the textural juxtaposition when seared. Nevertheless, another delicious item. We were still hungry at this point and the kitchen graciously allowed us to squeeze in another item before closing. We the agnolotti which were dumplings/ravioli filled with ricotta in a butter sauce. So good too. I'd highly recommend this dish as well. They've a nice selection of natural wines. I had a couple glasses of white. The bartender was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. He made some fantastic recommendations throughout the evening and was very hospitable. Wow, my husband and I were visiting our old neighborhood--which is completely unrecognizable as we left in 2004! But wow, I'm gonna put this in the category of things that definitely made the area better (I have a certain nostalgia for the Pre-Hermes 11211). Every single bite made our eyes roll back in our heads, starting with the pita (yes, pita! seriously -- you have never had pita like this!). It was soft and piping hot, and got even better when dipped into the incredibly creamy hummus and fois gras mousse. Then we also shared lamb meatballs and the chicken dish, both of which, yes, were out of this world. Finally came here after bookmarking it for over a year. I had some time to kill before night so decided to do a solo happy hour - starting at 4pm daily, $16 for a drink, pita, and spread - such a good deal for NYC. No need to mention everything was superb. I had the spritz to start (summer's coming) and it was really good and strong. Their pitas are made to order right in front of your eyes. The pita comes out like a small pillow with hot steam inside. Nothing more satisfying than tearing into it and tasting the soft, slightly tangy dough. They have several dips to choose from and everything looked so good, but I went the adventurous route and chose the Baccala Caponata. P&C is a Michelin deserving restaurant. The food is top notch, with everything done in small batches and more importantly, they're super consistent! I've yet to have a non-excellent meal at P&C, whether it be brunch or dinner. The service is also exceptional. Our waiter/mixologist, Joseph, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive, which makes it all the reason for us to return. We started our meal with two made to order pitas; one semolina and one rye. The bottarga is a must if you're ordering pitas and I thought it was smart of us to go with some picketed vegetables to help cut the richness of the spread. Regardless of which smear you choose, definitely order the pita and watch out for the steam! After our starters, we had the lamb meatballs which were perfectly soft and topped with yogurt, cheese, and pomegranate seeds. The pomegranate seeds were such a nice pop of sweetness against their rustic tomato sauce, which went perfectly with the creaminess of the yoghurt. The meatball themselves were moist and flavorful, without any of the gaminess that you'd often find with cheaper cuts of lamb. We also ordered the garganelli and agnolotti which were both heavenly. The garganelli was perfectly cooked and well coated with different pops of Unami from the all the mushrooms in the dish. The Calabrian chili added a hint of heat and depth of flavor. It was a definitely a dish that you'll want to go back for bite after bite. The agnolotti were pillowy and savory, with a good mouthfeel. The anchovy butter was well balanced and the leaves of fresh parsley added a nice boost of needed freshness. While simple in description, both pastas were absolutely scrumptious. Ending the night was a lovely salted caramel chocolate torte, sprinkled with flakes of sea salt. The torte ate like a brownie with rich cocoa flavors and was not too sweet. The salted caramel made the torte feel luxurious and overall, I'm just impressed with how well balanced the dessert was. If I had walked in and they punched me in the face, charged me for an entire meal and sent me home with only the salted caramel chocolate cake, I'd give this place five stars. I felt really safe sitting inside at the bar, the playlist was literally perfect, the food was delicious, our server was kind and accommodating. We got the hummus and the onion dip with freshly made pita -- both were outstanding. The onion dip was so good, I felt guilty eating it. It tasted like junk food you ate as a teenager and could never in good conscience eat again, but it isn't, obviously, because the food is gorgeous. Our two pasta dishes were perfect little portions of dense, high quality, homemade tasting pasta. Admittedly, I haven't had a really great restaurant experience in what feels like a lifetime, so I'm prone to superlatives. I'm also not used to eating outside the confines of my comfortable couch, but the bar seats were so cozy, they made for an easy transition. I look forward to returning! Had an awesome time at Pomp and Circumstance last week!!! The food was delish - the foie gras was to die for, the brick oven baked pita amazing and home made pasta simply yum. The Dashi 75 gin cocktail is my new fav!! The service was attentive and upbeat - and all the suggestions for food and drink were winners. We loved the warm setting and proximity to the subway.
