This place is one of my absolute favorites. Everything on the menu is delicious, well made, and reasonably priced. The cocktails are amazing and the service from everyone working here is next level. Intimate space, not pretentious, definitely make a reservation. 6 of us shared a bunch of plates. It's hard to pick a favorite because every bite I had was delicious: rye and seeded semolina pita, hummus, labneh, spicy pickled vegetables, lamb meatballs, agnolotti, escarole salad. I've been following P&C on Instagram since they opened last summer, but finally had a chance to swing by last week. I'm not sure what took us so long to finally visit, but this is gonna be part of our list of trusted and reliable local spots! Note that P&C are only open for dinner, and Sunday brunch. Also, as far as I know, there is also free corkage on Mondays! P&C is small and cozy, with a bar seating and several 2-seater tables and high tops (which can be pushed together for larger parties). My husband and I didn't have reservations, but we were able to grab a spot. While the menu isn't huge, there were so many delicious things to choose from. There are a few larger main dishes, but everything is meant to be shared. To start, we ordered: roasted brussels sprouts, 2 pita (rye, and seeded semolina), along with the following dips: Bottarga, Chicken Gizzards, and Chevre. We also added on the braised wagyu, so we were pretty stuffed at the end of the meal. Starting with the pita - oh my god, where has this been all my life?!  These pitas are totally different from what you would expect from a regular pita. Standard pitas are just flour, yeast, and 60% hydration.  The ones served by P&C are made-to-order in a stone oven, and is made from a high hydration dough (possibly 75-80% water?), and uses a sour dough starter.  High hydration dough gives a better rise, and more of an open crumb (open holes), similar to those beautiful artisan loaves.  The sourdough starter and the use of different flours (and seeds) are important for flavour development.  Once it comes out of the oven, the outside is crispy, toasty, and covered with slightly burnt spots, with a soft and airy crumb.. and that is why this is honestly, hands down, THE BEST FREAKIN PITA EVER MADE! That was a long speel about pita, but onto the next best thing - the accompaniments! Our favorite were the chicken gizzards - this was a hot dish, cooked nice and tender, in a spicy tomato sauce.  The other dips were nice as well - the bottarga (cured fish roe) was grated on top of an onion dip (mix of sour cream, onion, and something else that had a slight funk to it).  The Chevre was whipped goat cheese sprinkled with leek ash (heavily roasted leeks), and drizzled with olive oil.  Honestly, all the dips were so good, but they have some other interesting ones that sound great.  It will be hard to pick which ones to try the next time we go!    The brussel sprouts were alright - I liked the acidity on the dish, but it felt like perhaps the sprouts were steamed/boiled, then roasted.  I loved the charred bits, which gave it a nice smokey flavor but maybe because the sprouts were smaller in size, they got a bit softer / mushier?  Flavor was great, but felt slightly overcooked.   The entree that we shared was the braised wagyu beef served with little potatoes.  The beef melted in my mouth, and while it was nicely seasoned and was a delicious dish overall - my personal preference on wagyu beef is still enjoying it grilled or seared medium rare.  There were no duds tonight, but I'm looking forward to future visits and trying different things, such as the shakshuka & cheeky benny (served on Sunday brunch only), the roasted clams, smoked trout roe, duck liver mousse, dry aged meatballs, wild boar ragout bucatini, the tripe.. the menu seems to get changed around every now and then, so just keep your eyes peeled on their online menu. read more

There's a reason this place has so many reviews and is still five stars and it is because it is just that good. Pita is fresh and delicious, and any of the dips on the menu would go well with them. Some personal faves are the pate and the hummus, which is elevated to the point that it's hard for me to buy grocery store hummus now because theirs is so good. Their other dishes such as their meatballs, pasta, and tripe are wonderful as well. Honestly, any dish you get here will be amazing. read more

Quick version is that this place is awesome and a long overdue welcome to the neighborhood of nicer, elevated food. Longer version is that I watched the breads get made in front of me. I didn't order the Chevre, which was a mistake, but the fucking chef brought it out gratis! The oysters were delicate. The meatballs were almost light, with the frisée and pomegranates it was dope - very well rounded. Clams with jowl bacon had a nice texture and flavor, the sauce left on the plate is a reason to ask for more bread. Got the wagyu main and went home stuffed like a pig. Delicious, modern Mediterranean food. The menu starts with two breads which are freshly baked pita's and one is just better than the other. Then there are a bunch of delicious dips... to go with the breads of course. The rest of the menu are small and large plates for sharing. There's a good variety of vegetable dishes, some salads, and some meat dishes. The brussels sprouts were fantastic. They also have cardoons, they call them globe artichokes, which is a fun food thing you don't see very often. The meatballs are great and come in a really nice sauce. They also have a rabbit leg which I am excited to try sometime. The wine list isn't huge, but they have some very good and interesting options. I've been coming here since before they had their liquor license. And it just keeps getting better and better. Always a warm welcome from the owners. Joseph, the bartender makes amazing cocktails and is so accommodating and attentive. He gives off a very gracious vibe which is a pleasant way to start my meal. Now the food... Have you ever just eaten something that inspires feelings and sensations in your body that is just pure joy and more? The homemade pita with Foie Gras Mousse makes you pause your life and reflect. OMG it's so good! My husbands favorites were the Roasted clams, Chicory Salad, lamb Meatballs. My chosen were the Cardoons, which I never had before. Sort of a celery, fennel texture. But the flavors with warm grapes were unimaginably delicious. Also the Casarecce pasta with broccoli and garlic cheesy sauce blew be away. I would request this for my last meal. The homemade pasta had the perfect texture. The sauce was jam-packed with flavor. I told my husband "this dish is better then sex". He was thrilled ;). I kept eying the chocolate torte with salted caramel sauce but I just couldn't fit another bite in. My only regret of the night. What makes this place extra exceptional is the perfectly choreographed rhythm they all dance. Bartender makes the perfect cocktail, food is not brought out too quickly so you can enjoy your potion and company. Each dish comes out piping hot, and thoughtfully so you can enjoy at a considerate pace. Nothing is unadvised here, they are in harmony with each other. Our waiter was one of the owners and informed us that the other owner was their spouse. I believe we were served by one of the owners- who took the utmost care in explaining the menu and in a way that made us want to keep talking to her. We really felt like home in this cozy restaurant. Our seats at the bar allowed us to watch the fresh pita being made which was awesome. We came in thinking it would be good, but didn't realize exactly how good. Get the pita with any dips, the oysters, any pasta dish- and do not skip on the kale salad or the dessert. A cozy restaurant with warm, personal service. Though the space is small, there is nothing small about the flavors coming out of P & C's kitchen. One of the house specialties is sourdough pita. I hadn't thought of ordering it but I was encouraged to and I'm glad I got it. It's absolutely delicious. You can choose from a number of dips to go with it. I decided to surprise my brother with mystery delivery food! I do not live in Brooklyn, he does, so I just chose the restaurant based on Yelp reviews. I got him the Crepe Savoyarde and the prosciutto and melon salad. The food absolutely blew his mind! We came here last minute on a chilly night during covid. I waitlisted on Resy for an outdoor table and when I arrived I asked for an indoor table. Not expecting to be accommodated since they are a small place and it was 7pm on a Friday night, they did!!! They moved around tables for us and then at 8:30pm we knew that they had a reservation coming in and we were going to leave but she was kind enough to let us know she can move us to a high top since there was a no show to enjoy another drink and we did. Okay, so on to more important things here. The food was phenomenal. We started with the semolina pita and duck liver mousse. The bread is baked fresh as you order. Amaze balls!! The duck liver mousse is also amaze balls. We then had the grilled clams which were also amazing, I was drinking the sauce wishing for more bread but knowing I couldn't eat more bread. We then had the lamb meatballs which we surprisingly so good meaning full of unexpected flavor and spice. For our entrees we shared two pasta dishes. One of the dishes just sparked my curiosity based on the name. "Everything Bagel Fettucine with smoked trout roe" I love everything bagels. I love smoked trout and roe but never had smoked trout roe so I'm sure I would love it and I did. The pasta was fresh and delicate. The seasoning was good and not over powering. The smoked trout roe was a great addition with delicate but strong smokiness. We then had the bucatini (one of my fav pasta) with wild boar ragout. That was also another great dish. The fresh pasta was perfectly cooked and there were chunks of wild boar. Meaning not ground or chopped meat but meat that has been cooking until it's tender and breaking up naturally. They had a cheese plate for dessert but we were full and looking for something small and sweet. She then gave us a little appertif and I usually don't care for them but this was very good and unusual in a good way. read more

Came here on a whim after all of the other restaurants we went to ended up being closed. This was the best dining experience I've had this year. P+C is run by a husband a wife duo who pride themselves on amazing service and incredible food. We started with a seeded semolina pita, duck liver mousse, and pickled vegetables. The pita came out piping hot and the mousse was divine. If you enjoy the vegetables, you can even purchase a jar of them to take home - I did! We then had the roasted clams and the dry aged lamb meatballs. The clams were brothy and smoky. The meatballs were soft and creamy. We finished our meal with the calamari with swiss chard, fregola, and leek dashi --- just fabulous. Everything was timed beautifully. Overall I would compare this experience to the scene in ratatouille where the food critic tastes the ratatouille and is transported to his childhood. We didn't want our dining experience to end. Their Duck Liver Mousse with the Port infusion paired with one of their freshly baked pitas is the best thing we've ever had anywhere on this planet.
