    "Grandma's Pie with Vodka Sauce"
    Jayna P.

I found this place online and decided to give it a try since I've been searching for a local pizza spot after moving to Clark. I called to ask if they could make a drunken Grandma's Pie (A grandma's Pie with vodka sauce). A Grandma's Pie is known as a rectangular pizza, which I clarified with the lady taking the order. Once we picked up the pizza and got home, it was a regular round pizza with vodka sauce. 1. They charged me for a speciality Grandmas Pie. 2. I clearly wanted a square pizza... In terms of the pizza, they should have cooked the pizza more. It was soggy and no crisp. The vodka sauce was tasty, but that's about it. My guest were not satisfied.

The pizza was fast but not that great. Ordered a margarita but they barely used any cheese, sauce was meh and too much spice... not that great. Prob won't be trying again!

    Thin crust pizza, half meatball

Good New Jersey thin crust pizza. Meatballs are some of the best in the area. Moist with a little cheese tang to them, not the usual dried out slices that most pizza places offer. Reasonably priced which is always a plus!

Used to have great sandwiches and pizza but what happened? Tomato, mozzarella basil had lousy tomatoes and instead of a nice sprinkling of crushed or flakes basil there are huge leaves the size of pancakes. So you either get no basil or overkill. The veal parmigiana sandwich was over cooked, breading separated from the veal which was stringy and tasteless, and barely any sauce. and the worst garlic knots ever. How do you screw up garlic knots? Burnt and hard, not soft and doughy and none of the garlic and oil was anywhere ON The knots. Wouldn't even soak into the knots, so they were dry and tasteless. All in all a big strike out. Off the list. I'd give no stars but I can't.

My pizza standards are very high. When I say "extra" pls I mean it! Pompeii nailed it. I wanted extra Mushrooms and Onions with Meatball (I know it sounds a bit odd but to each his own) when it arrived in under the time they said it looked perfect minus the meatball missing. I called them and they told me to prevent burning the put the meatball under the cheese. Genius! It was there and delicious

Upon arriving to Rahway, my coworker and I were starving. We didn't have lunch due to our long…read moreflight, so I was very excited about this Italian place. And surprisingly, this happened to be a very well known restaurant as our other coworkers knew about it! It's located across of CubaNu Restaurant & Lounge on the corner of Lewis St and Main St in downtown Rahway. There's paid street parking and parking garages around the area. My coworker and I shared their Calamari Al Forno, tossed with Italian sausage, hot cherry pepper, and balsamic glaze. And wow. Who would have thought balsamic glaze with calamari would be sooooo good! I'll definitely be ordering that combination again. The mix with the Italian sausage and cherry peppers added a nice kick to the dish. Both of us could not stop eating it even though we wanted to save room for our pastas. Our meal was off to a great start! I ordered their Linguini de Mar which was supposed to have four seafoods: shrimp, calamari, mussels, and clams. Unfortunately, mine was missing the calamari. However, the pasta was incredibly flavorful and the seafood was cooked perfectly - not overdone or underdone at all. YUM! My coworker got their Cheese Ravioli with the Bolognese sauce (unsure if it was extra as I didn't see the check). She loved her pasta as well! She's usually a light eater, but she devoured half the calamari appetizer and all of her pasta, which speaks volumes about how much she enjoyed the meal. I felt that the one downside was the unusual amount of water I drank (maybe ten cups?). This was my own personal indicator that there was definitely some sort of flavor enhancer which wasn't a negative thing. I'm not certain, but the food was very good, so kudos to them if that's the case. Overall, definitely a hidden gem! We unfortunately didn't try their pizzas/pies but this will definitely be on my list again the next time I visit. Or I may opt in for another round of calamari al forno and pasta again, haha!

Rahway has a nice downtown area with good restaurants. I'm always surprised when I visit because…read morethe downtown isn't that big but some of their restaurants are fantastic. This restaurant was pretty good. If you dine in make sure to have plenty of time because the service slow. Their pizza is wood fire and so was the cheese bread which was delicious. The calamari was good and I know places that have messed up calamari (this was not one of them). I enjoyed my plain individual pie and the crust in my opinion made the pizza. The lasagna was tasty as well and I think the sauce made the dish. The brussel sprouts were crispy and the added bacon added a nice flavor to it. I only wish that the dish had more whole sprouts. Great experience overall.

Let's start with the only real challenge of the night: parking. Between regular White Plains parking adventures and the winter snow situation, it took a little patience. But once we got inside, the night immediately got better. The vibe is college-bar casual, but without the trashiness that sometimes comes with that territory. It's lively but still comfortable enough to actually enjoy a conversation. One thing I loved right away, there are games by the front entrance that you can grab and bring to your table. Drinks + games = instant girls' night upgrade. We were seated in the center near the kitchen, which actually gave us a great view of the whole place. Our drinks were really good, though if the bartender's hand had slipped just a tiny bit more on the pour, I wouldn't have complained. Still solid, still enjoyable. Now the food. Holy moly. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. And the portions? I'm not sure if they thought we were feeding an entire soccer team, but honestly... I support the ambition. I don't think I've ever seen mozzarella sticks that size before. I love leftovers and this place clearly believes in sending you home with some. Another thing I appreciated was seeing a whole section of vegan options on the menu. I didn't try them this time, but I love when a restaurant makes it easy for different diets to find something without turning ordering into a complicated group project. Between the fun atmosphere, great food, and generous portions, this was a great first experience. Next time I come back, I'll just plan ahead for parking... and maybe bring an even bigger appetite.

Wasn't busy but more people than our first visit. While we waited to get served, 3 other tables were sat and serviced their water and drinks. After I would say 10-15 minutes without being approached by a waiter we had to just get up and leave. We weren't happy. We return the games they had in house and weren't even approached as to why we were leaving. They need better servers and hostess.
