We've never eaten in at Pizza Man but we've ordered delivery several times now and find it to be pretty good pizza -- and I have a husband who's really really picky about his pizza. He grew up in Chicago, and he's partial to Chicago thin-crust. Pizza Man meets his standards for the thin, crispy, crackery crust he's looking for in a thin-crust pizza. (You can also order extra thin if you like it even more crackery). Personally, I'm more a fan of the pan crust, which is a perfect medium thickness and rich and buttery. Very tasty. Good thing for us, we can just order two pizzas and both be happy! So far, our experiences with delivery have been very good. Orders taken professionally, including some really good suggestions and question-answering when I called to order pizza for the crew of friends who helped us move. Delivery has never taken more than 40 minutes or so, and that was on a really busy day. Watch local sales fliers -- there are coupons everywhere! read more

Terrible customer service over the phone. I called to place an order, was put on hold immediately, when the person got on the line, I told them I wanted to order a pizza for delivery. They asked for my address, I said I've ordered before and gave them my phone number. They were not able to pull it up, so I gave them my address. Then he tried repeating back my phone number and got it wrong. "This isn't working, I'lI need your address" So I gave it to him AGAIN more slowly this time, since he wasn't paying attention the first time. He said I didn't have to talk so slowly and said "I'm not an idiot" so I asked for his name, and he refused to give it to me and said I was being rude. Then I asked to speak with the manager, and he said he WAS the manager. I was a regular customer, but after such rude treatment I will not be ordering from them again. read more

I found it suspicious that a "Nate C." posted a super favorable review the same day I posted mine, just a few hours after you sent me a private message about my review. I also found it suspicious that the prose used in the review from "Nate C." was strikingly similar to how you addressed me in your private message. I contacted Yelp about what I believed to be a fake review, expressed my concerns and the review was subsequently filtered. I'd just like to inform you that not only is the posting of fake reviews to bolster your overall score a violation of Yelp's review guidelines, you could potentially face financial penalties for doing so (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/23/technology/give-yourself-4-stars-online-it-might-cost-you.html?hp&_r=1&). I'd also like to point out that asking your customers to post favorable reviews on Yelp is highly unethical (I have seen you make such requests from your followers on Facebook). Well, I'm not a follower of pizza man on Facebook, I've never been to their shop before even though it's the closest one to my Office in New Hope. I've seen it from Douglas many times driving by and thought it can't be to much of a place, just a small mom and pop shop with average pizza. We'll tonight I needed a quick dinner and was hungry for pizza. I did a quick search and they popped up. Most of their ratings where favorable so I took a chance. My review... For a medium size pizza under $15 bucks, it's pretty dam good. I ordered a medium size pizza, extra thin crust with pepperoni, sausage and extra cheese. I picked it up with in ten minutes after I ordered it. The cheese was bubbled and browned just the way I like it. Not too much pepperoni or sausage just right. Sauce... not to much, not to sweet. The crust was thicker than I like, but all in all it was a good pie. Fourteen inch pizza and I ate the whole thing. I would recommend this pizza to anyone and would put it up against any of the national chains. I'll be back. read more

The reason why I LOVE Pizza Man? It has nothing to do with their pizza, actually....it has to do with their WINGS! First off, there have been three (3) comfort food items that I have been searching for since moving to this state: Wonton Soup, pizza and wings. This state is SERIOUSLY lacking in those areas. Wonton wraps from around here are overcooked and fall apart the second you touch them, leaving you with a plastic container of broth, balls of pork and wonton slush. I actually found ONE place that makes them right, but that business is in Roseville and not part of this review. The point is, it took forever bouncing between each business to find the right ones. As for pizza, it's a bit depressing that most pizza around here just flat-out sucks. (Yes, I'm from a big city on the East Coast. I'm a "judgemental, snobby jerk" who "knows everything" about pizza. I know.) The reason why it sucks IN MY OPINION is because I'm not a fan of designer, "we top it with peanut butter and grapes...AREN'T WE COOL AND HIP?" pizza, (BTW: NO. You're not.), nor the ultimate thin crust that is basically like eating marinara sauce off of a burnt cracker. Or even worse, a thin crust loaded with toppings... so that when you pick it up, the top slides right off and you're left with a warm piece of wet cardboard. It's infuriating. And for the record, in an attempt to shut me up and keep me from bitchin' about finding a good pie, I've been taken to most places that people rave about around here. I gave up. Now, as for wings, all I ever want is a wing that is a decent size and NOT over-fried. I could care less for the flavor or seasoning, just spare me the dry sliver of meat you give me because you overcooked any hint of moist, juiciness out of it, leaving me to basically snack disappointingly on, well, crispy, burnt skin. Then I discovered Pizza Man, and it was completely on another whim in my futile attempts to seek out the aforementioned comfort foods. The name "Pizza Man" sounded so basic that I just jokingly, in a shrugging shoulders/hands-in-the-air action of just giving up, said to myself, "Basic name could possibly equal great food? Maybe? Who knows..." Well, it DOES. The wings: PERFECTLY COOKED. I suddenly went from ranting about bad wings across MN to not shutting up about THESE wings. After ordering over and over again for myself, my GF eventually said that she wanted some pizza (since I was ordering wings), so I ordered my first pizza from them as well. I thought, "Uhh ohh...here we go again with another crap pizza." Wouldn't you know it? It, too, was also PERFECT. I was floored. Two of the three things I was searching for were at the same business? If they sold wontons, I'd bet they would nail that art too! So, the food is great, but what REALLY sets them apart is their follow-up with the customer. They email you after each order, thank you for your business and give you easy points to use to order little add-ons, such as cheesecake. (Do I have to mention that even though they don't make the cake, it also is a tasty product?) So, I'm a regular customer now. Probably gonna' order again right after I post this because I'm thinking about those darn wings. THANK YOU, Pizza Man. You get it. You really, really do. I personally didn't get to eat the pizza at this fine establishment BUT their customer service is amazing!!! I called to see if they could make a happy birthday pizza for my friend and deliver it to her and they exceeded all my expectations! The girl who answered the phone (not sure of her name but she was great) and the manager were so kind and helpful, and took on the challenge with no problem! My friend said the pizza tasted great and they decorated it like a birthday cake with candles in bell peppers and olives! LOL if I'm ever in Minnesota I'll be eating here first!!!!! read more

I've been ordering pizza from this Pizza Man store since 1998, and I love it. For me, its their fresh ingredients that make all the difference. I moved out of their delivery area, but still work close by. My family gets excited when I bring home Pizza Man for our weekly pizza night.! There is nothing worse then a pizza with canned mushrooms. Generous toppings, lots of cheese. We ordered a deep dish pizza from Pizza Man a week and a half ago. The pizza arrived, smelled and looked good. However when we bit into it, the crust was half raw and completely doughy. There was not a chance we would be able to eat the pizza. We attempted to heat the pizza more to cook fully cook the crust but no luck. We called the management and told him what took place and he acknowledged that it was a problem with their thick crust pizzas and stated that the crust was cooked enough and wouldn't hurt us. He also said he'd give us a credit for the pizza or he could send us another one. Since it was late in the evening we opted for the credit. We decided to give Pizza Man another chance and call in to utilize the credit. We called to order a pizza only to discover that the credit was for $5.00; what a bunch of crap. We tossed a 20+ dollar pizza and was offered a menial credit; what a rip off... I will never order a pizza from this unreliable shop again. Think twice.... read more
