Ordered a pizza from Angeno's on Thursday night. I'm sure the pizza was fine until DoorDash delivered it. The dasher was using a Walmart bag for the pizza and the pizza was being carried on it's side, not by keeping the box flat. My son and I are avid pizza connoisseur's and we love to try different pizza from different places. Our favorite is New York style Pizza so we specifically seek places out that claim to have New York style pizza. Angeno's claims to have New York style pizza. While our pizza was decent, it wasn't anything to write home about, it was average and SUPERRR greasy. Still good and I would eat it again with a napkin to absorb all the oil. The "boneless chicken wings" on the other hand are nothing more than soggy, flavorless, microwaved, frozen popcorn chicken. $15 for 10 pieces of nasty frozen soggy popcorn chicken is WILD. Shame on you. I want my money back!!! DO NOT ORDER THEIR CHICKEN!!! They also charge $.68 for a small container of ranch that they don't even make. It's disgusting that a person can order from a restaurant and they want to charge almost a dollar for ranch they don't even make. The least you can do is throw in the store bought ranch. Lol. Will we be back? Idk, it will depend on how they resolve this chicken situation for me. If we receive our money back for the chicken, then we will likely still buy pizza from them. Order from here recently and the food was really good! All the food was delivered hot and fresh. I will say the chicken alfredo was more average, but tasted good and the garlic cheese bread on the side was delicious! The portion seemed a bit small though. The pizza was the highlight! Angenos has the best pizza in the state in our opinion. We always start with the cheese bread. This is a must. It's crispy and cheesy and just mouthwateringly good. We got 2 medium thin crust pizzas. One with pepperoni and the other with mushrooms, green peppers and onions. The crust is thin and crispy. They have the right amount of cheese to sauce to topping ratio. Fantastic pizza and it makes great leftovers too. We enjoy being able to dine in as well, which you don't see much of anymore for a pizza place. Service is always friendly. We ordered the antipasto supreme salad, a side of garlic toast with cheese, spaghetti and meatballs, and a house special pizza. As always, the pizza was perfect. The garlic toast was delivered warm and had good crunch on the edges. The spaghetti and meatballs were only average, and rather bland. Definitely needs the following: the meatballs need more onion and garlic, and sausage in the mix. Less bread. More seasonings of oregano and basil, fennel, red pepper, red wine, and tomato paste. Or maybe the marinara and meatballs were just past their prime. Or maybe too many corners cut on seasoning. Recipe needs an overhaul IMO. The antipasto supreme was crisp, fresh lettuce, and plenty of olives, onion, and green pepper. Could use less mozzarella chunks and more pepperoni. Pretty close to perfect otherwise. Service was fine, friendly, timely, and met all expectations. Several ceiling tiles need replacement near the back wall and counter. They are dirty, stained, and missing corners. Can't be that challenging to replace. Booths are comfortable and look recently remodeled. Get the pizza! It's fantastic! The thin crust gets a little soggy in the middle. But the edges are nicely crisp and have some light char. Crust tastes great, but could be missing the vintage secret ingredient of past decades. My guess is it could use some malt flavoring. Toppings are generous and well distributed. And yes, quality costs more, but people will perceive better value, and be willing to pay for it. read more

The food is great, very tasty and plenty. The service is incredible, always remember us and they love to take care of us. Ambiance is a big problem, it needs major remodeling from top to bottom, and from side to side...the owners have not spent a penny since opening, cracks on walls, dirty and wet stain on ceiling tiles, old tvs, dirty old carpeting, the booths are too soft and old, back entrance is a dirty mess, toilets need updating, it could be made into a cute Italian ristotante. I absolutely love Angeno's! It brings back childhood memories! I was born & raised in MN, spent the first 11 years of my life in Maple Grove. Even when we moved a little further out, this was my favorite place! I haven't lived in MN for the last 28 years. We try to come back once a year, but sometimes it's every 2 yrs. This is the place my family KNOWS we HAVE to make sure we eat from when I visit! I honestly have never had anything but the thin crust pizza, not because I'm not interested, but because all my memories are of the thin crust pizza. Used to eat here decades ago, it was always our family's favorite pizza. I recently visited Maple Grove with my son and told him "I know where the BEST pizza used to be around here, let's see if it's still the same." I've been getting my "za" from here for 10 years. It's a family owned pizza joint in a strip mall that you'd never know was there if you didn't search. But what a find! Excellent ingredient quality. This has been a family favorite for years. The pizza is unique. I always get the thin crust. The sauce, cheese, and toppings are placed in the crust to the edge. It is then cooked so the edge is crispy and the cooked, yet floppy. The pizzas are "Chicago cut", or cut into squares. If you choose to have your pizza cut into triangles, the center will fold into a floppy, New York-style slice, although this pizza is far from being like that in other aspects. The sauce is like tomato paste. It's thick and full of saturated flavor. I get onions on my pizza, as the only topping, as they are the sweet type and balance out the sauce very well. They also serve pastas and salads which are also great. The pasta sauce has a hint of green pepper, and as someone who often finds green pepper to be overpowering, the addition of it brings a lovely taste to the sauce. I understand since it's homemade why the price is more expensive then other not so great pizza places, but they could really use some more quality staff. I came here for lunch one day on my quest to find the best Minnesota pizza. In short, I was very disappointed. I had the pizza buffet lunch, and I assume that was my fatal error. The pie just wasn't good. Every pizza tasted like it was made the night before and then reheated in an oven before being brought out to the buffet. The dough was dry and the cheese was hard. It tasted OK, for a reheated pizza. But I expect a little more from a place that has people claming it is the best in the entire state. The salad bar was bare bones as well. It seemed fresh enough but the ingredients seemed like the bottom echelon of quality. For all the other great lunch options in the area, I will not try this place again.
