After about a year past, we started coming back because we did thoroughly enjoy the pizza and we haven't had many problems until it happened again today. We put in another online order, waited the time that it told us to wait until pick up, and when we showed up to pick up our order that had already been paid for, no one is there. Lights are off, doors are locked, no one insight. This is ridiculous. I'm not sure how a business is ran this way. I can understand if it's a one time thing, and there was an absolute emergency, but This is maybe the fifth time that it's happened? At least. And honestly shame on me for continuing to go back, I should've learned my lesson sooner and I thought I did. Your pizza might be better than Papa John's, but at least they're reliable. Placed order, we did online after 2 hours I called and asked where our delivery was, drove up to the store to get it, they said our delivery just left showed up 2 hours and 15 minutes later. I thought we would give them another try because we had a gift card. Ordered pizzas online did it for pick up this time, went to the store store, was closed, stated they were open online. We called to try and redeem our gift card. They called back and left a message. Called to see if we could get pizzas, person who answered the phone told me this was the worst possible time to call and he would discuss it with me later, we hoped to get pizzas but we did not get pizzas. 2/2 bad experience read more

This is our favorite pizza but the website has been down the last 3 times when we tried to order. We tried calling to place our order but nobody answers the phone. I know staffing is a challenge for everyone so hoping you can overcome this because your pizza is amazing. This place is so much better under new management now no more smoking in the kitchen and rudeness to patrons. really enjoy going here now where before it was kind of not the best place because the attitude of the staff. I get pizza is pretty simple, but I appreciate good pizza on the road in an unfamiliar area, when you don't want the same chain food you find in every city off the highway. I ordered a cheeseburger pizza. When it arrived the delivery man said that he had to check the pizza before he gave it to me because he delivered one previously and it was in bad shape. He said ours was looking better that the other pizza, but when I tried it it had absolutely no sauce. It didn't have any hamburger either. Very disappointed. I generally believe that brick-oven/wood-fire pizzas are the best, but this place makes it an argument. In a city that has a number of pie options, this is by far (again, my belief) the best in show. For starters, it isn't a chain. I think most of us can probably agree that stand-alones are usually better for a number of reasons. The quality of the ingredients is excellent, cheese-to-sauce ratio perfect, and all three types of crust--thin, hand tossed, deep dish--fantastic. I'm also a sucker for crusts with cornmeal, which they use as well. I cannot vouch for their wings, but their oven-baked subs are also quite good. And if you want one of those unique pizzas that seem to be becoming customary (Cuban, reuben, bacon cheeseburger, etc.), those are on the menu, too. To top everything off, they have very cheap deals that actually outcompete a lot of the local franchises. Carry-out specials are dirt cheap, and I'd pay significantly more for how delicious these pizzas are. Absolutely try this place. read more

Primo is a favorite for our family living in Monticello. We opt for the thin crust. Try the Reuben pizza. It has steak, onion, sauerkraut and a thousand island dressing. It is good and even the little ones loved it. This is not a luxury dining experience by any means, and it's not exactly cheap at around $20 for a large pizza... but we just can't avoid ordering pizza take out every so often and for dining options in Monticello I would say that this is your place to go. Horrible service. Was placing an order over the phone and the lady hung up on me while taking my order (did not take address or card number). I called back asking why she hung up and she said she I was done ordering, I asked to speak to the manager so she hung up again. There is Pizza Ranch, Dominos, two Pizza Factories, Fuji's Pizza, and a Pizza Pub that are within 10 minutes of my house. I would think they would want to keep customers. There food isn't anything to write home about, but it is over priced....maybe that is their business plan? read more

I am writing this review for my husband as he is the one who orders from here a lot. He orders online which is really convenient and we have never had a problem with the online ordering. He loves the loyalty programs as it allows to earn points for free food. He likes there pizza and usually gets a pepperoni and cheese bread. Whenever my family comes up to Monticello from the cities this is the pizza place they want to order from because they like it so much. My personal favorite is the Hawaiian and I think it is delicious. Not sure what is going on with the bad reviews but we have been customers for over 3 years and have never gotten a pizza we didn't enjoy. Primo Pizza is my favorite local pizza. It's always fresh, the cheese and sauce balance out nicely. The whole pizza is a perfect ratio of sauce, crust, cheese (trinity of pizza). Their cheese is just good...I don't know how else to describe it. I'm in no way sheltered when it comes to pizza, lived in New York, frequented Chicago and love trying new and visiting old pizza places. I can appreciate other's preferences when it comes to pizza, it's a comfort food that often gets personal. In my opinion, Primo is worth a shot. They have reasonable carry-out deals (it's carry-out or delivery only, FYI) so you can judge on your own with minimal damage to the ol' bank account. I'd say it's 'slap your mamma good' but my mom and I don't have a great relationship, so in my case it's not a good analogy. If you love your mother, by all means, backhand her, it's good pizza. I'm allergic to flowers, so my husband brings home Primo Pizza if he's offering a truce. It's apology worthy, again, just me. The staff is also very friendly, I don't think I've walked in their store without seeing a smile (that wasn't mine). Enjoy! read more

Now I'm not a person who's too picky about pizza, but Primo is one of the only pizza places in town that I seriously can't stomach. I've tried it several times hoping that maybe it was just a bad cook the first time or something...but every time I tried it, I literally couldn't finish it. The crust and sauce tasted terrible and there was barely any cheese on it (I do happen to like a lot of cheese on my pizza though). I definitely wouldn't recommend it! Below average pizza. Don't be fooled by the picture on the coupon! That isn't anything like what you'll receive!!! We got two large pizzas for $20. We went and picked it up. Was ready in 15 minutes. Hand tossed pizza was a more substantial pizza than the thin crust, but we felt that that the pizzas were small and sausage was almost nonexistent. We will continue to look for our go-to pizza place. This isn't it. Honestly, I'd rather heat up a frozen pizza like Connie's or Home Run Inn. I'd have enjoyed that much more. Wonder how these folks stay in business ? You want cheap pizza? Since I moved here I have been trying to find a decent pizza place. I have come to the conclusion that it is just not possible. Although Primo is a little better than Pizza Ranch and Pizza Factory, it isn't by much. I got the toppings that I ordered and that was the only good part. The crust was tough and elastic. The bottom was so soggy, you couldn't pick it up because everything just slid off. This was because there was way too much sauce on the pizza and it wasn't cooked long enough to crisp up the bottom. Looks like Monticello is doomed to have mediocre pizza. Best advise if you order from here - scrape off the toppings and eat them, the rest is trash. read more

We LOVE Primo Pizza!!! We moved to Big Lake 10 years ago. After trying several popular local pizza joints we tried Primo's. We have NEVER looked back! If we're getting pizza, we're getting Primo's. Their ingredients are fresh, the sauce is tasty and their garlic bread is yummy. I love that they have a points program that add up fast. As if the pizza wasn't good enough, their customer service is excellent!!! I can't think of any negative experiences in 10yrs. Best pizza in town without a doubt. There are tons of great deals and you don't even need to know about them. The workers put as many coupons as they can on every order to give you the best possible price. If they can't figure out the best one, they ask someone else for help finding a better one. They have super fresh toppings every day. Sausages, beef, sauce, dough, chicken, and traditional chicken wings all made from scratch and taste amazing! They are very friendly to both walk-in customers and over-the-phone customers. They also have subs and pastas that make a great meal for one, too. They have super tasty bread sides, as well. If you have any requests (spell PROM on pizzas, cut it a certain way, no cheese, toppings on top of the cheese, extra sauce, literally anything your heart desires to make your pizza perfect for you!) they do it without hesitation. If something goes wrong with your request, they make you a new pizza the way you wanted it. If you have a problem with your pizza when you receive it, the owner gives you the option of a credit for next time (which is marked in their computer so they can't forget it!) or if you want them to send it out to you right then, they will, even if it's something as small as a marinara cup! I have been eating at Primo since they have opened and now, I live 3 hours away and when I get a chance to come back it's my favorite place to stop. read more

Cheese is good and doesn't break apart when it gets cold like domino's, sauce has that little *zing* to it and most toppings are normal to big sized.
