This lodge awesome. I am so glad I found this place. The rooms are beautiful and so cozy. the owners are so friendly and want to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The outdoor fire pit just can't be beat. I will definitely come black here again.

What a find! Such a cute and eclectic lodge along the highway. A hidden treasure for travelers, an oasis to rest and relax. The courtyard has a hot tub, flower garden, comfy chairs, views, and a fire pit to enjoy the evenings and mornings. The rooms are cozy and comfy. A win!!

    Exterior style of motel.

Perfect place for me. The 'charming courtyard' is meditative and peaceful. Quiet. Everyone has been friendly, helpful.

It was the exact right vibes to celebrate my birthday. All of the details are so thoughtful. The rooms are clean and include a good size 'retro' mini fridge. The A/C kicks for a good, cold sleep. The beds are comfy and pillows are nice. It was a very quiet stay. I really don't have one bad thing to say about this spot. I really can't wait to come back again soon for another delightful stay! :)

We were lucky to grab a reservation for the night in one of the rooms, and had a long talk with Trinity at the front desk over everything at the motel. She was so friendly, accommodating, and informative. Come to find out the owners are from Austin, and it definitely gives those type of vibes forsure. I love seeing Texas influences here in Colorado. The whole motel was so well thought of and designed- from the airstreams to the lobby, the outdoor spaces and also the rooms we had everything we needed to have a nice and relaxing stay. It's a 3 minute drive to downtown Salida (pronounced Sa-lie-da as the sign outside states) where all kinds of shops/restaurants/breweries are, but also definitely check out Robins real close to the motel for a great breakfast or lunch spot. WiFi was great, bed was comfy and I got some great rest there. Will definitely book at Amigo Motor Lodge again next time we are in town! They really did such an amazing job renovating the motel in a cool modern type of way with a back home Texas twist to it.

The bed was not comfortable. At 11 pm, there was a group of men congregating around their van, making a bunch of noise instead of going over to the middle island where there are chairs. When I called the front desk they sounded flippant about the issue and said, "Oh, they just checked in." No, they didn't "just" check in. My partner and I tolerated the noise for over an hour before I finally got up and called. To be fair, after I called, shortly afterward, the noise stopped. Bottom line for this review: Hotel decor is nice, which gives an initial good impression. But as far as comfort and getting rested here.....not likely.

The Royal Suite of Roadside Inns!…read more If you've ever wondered what it's like to live like royalty without the royal price tag, Gateway Inn and Suites is the place! TWO king beds--because one just isn't enough. The pillows? Like sleeping on clouds hand-fluffed by angels. The bedding? So comfy, we briefly considered canceling our plans just to hibernate. And then, just when we thought it couldn't get better--BAM! A pull-out couch that turns into ANOTHER king bed. It's like the hotel version of a magic trick! Smack in the middle of the room? A round table for four--perfect for meals, card games, or intense negotiations over who gets the best pillow. And the fun doesn't stop there! The play area was basically an amusement park disguised as a hotel: darts, arcade basketball, pool, foosball, cornhole, a sauna, a HUGE TV, and cardio machines (for pretending we'd exercise). But the crown jewel? The enclosed whirlpool with twinkle lights! It was like soaking in a bubbly fairy tale. The deck and patio? Adorable. The vibe? Seasonal and magical. The breakfast? Chef's kiss! Our kids thought they'd stumbled into a buffet from their dreams. And let's not forget the staff--truly some of the friendliest people we've ever encountered at a hotel. Final verdict? We're already planning our return. Gateway Inn and Suites, you've won our hearts (and our future reservations).
