My husband and I had a very nice stay at the Silver Ridge Lodge. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the breakfasts included hot dishes such as eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes and waffles. I received an email today stating that a reservation was made in my name, using my email and under my credit card in April and then cancelled a few hours later. Silver Ridge reservation department ( I talked to 3 different people) rate refusing to cancel the reservation since it was made through Expedia . Expedia has no record of this transaction so they can't help. Silver Ridge Lodge is perpetuating a fraud by continuing to refuse to cancel the reservation and they absolutely are refusing to help. I'm reporting my CC as compromised and disputing the charge but they could have been so much more helpful and honest in the actions. Never book through them , they use a third party reservation company and they are unhelpful and rude. read more

We forgot to book a motel for last weekend's trip to Salida. Crikey, the chains wanted up to $240 per night. No, thanks. Lucky for us, Silver Ridge had a two-queen room at a much lower rate. Whizzing by on US 50, it looks like a run of the mill old motel. Nope. Rooms have been renovated. Ours was clean and looked nice inside. What we liked: Full size fridge/freezer Hot tub: It's reserve-in-advance by room in 30 minute blocks. No smelly tweakers, couples making out, or loud kids to kill the buzz (and enough chemicals to kill all germs). Our roomy shower had thick glass doors, preferable to a curtain. The self-operated pancake machine in the breakfast area was a fave of our kiddos, who could watch the pancake on a conveyor belt. Just ok: Breakfast was hit or miss. Biscuits/gravy were my fave. Pancakes did the trick. Coffee was fine. However, my scrambled egg discs were cold and the sausage patty tasted too weird to eat. Fruit, milk, OJ, and standard Continental fare were included, too. Bonus: The recent model smart tv was loaded with apps, but you have to login with your own credentials. People forgot to log out of Disney, Prime, and Netflix. While we have each of these, it's nice to have access if you don't already have them. The Salida Aquatic Center sits across the road if you want some hot spring-fed waters. Overall, Silver Ridge combines nicer-than-expected accommodations at a lower price than nearby chains while maintaining the intimate feel and personal touch of a local business. Very cute little lodge. Beds a comfortable but the pillows were too large for me. Wonderful indoor hot tub and sauna that you can sign up for private use! The Silver Ridge Lodge offers OK value for the money, but the rooms are small and haphazardly remodeled. When we checked in, our host told us that the staff was invited to repaint the rooms and it showed. Breakfast was sweet carbohydrates, with the only healthy option being a tangerine. Pleasantly surprised! Do not let the exterior scare you off. The room we booked was a pleasant surprise. We got the last king suite, for the night, at about $150. Everything seemed new. It was nicely appointed, spacious, and very clean. The key pad door lock was efficient and easy to use. They have an outdoor hot tub and indoor salt water Jacuzzi and a sauna steam room! Must be booked by appointment, but it works out nice. You get it all to yourself. So when you make your reservation, call and book it ahead of time. Location is good. There is a Mexican restaurant about a football field away and Walmart is right down the street. I will definitely book this again, as a good layover, on my trips to Denver. read more

After hearing rave reviews from locals, I decided to get a night at Silver Ridge Lodge. Honestly, this lodge does not disappoint. The decor is awesome and has a lot of very adorable towel origami situated throughout the room. Rented a 2 queen, with mountain views. The room was large, clean, incredibly comfortable and has a separate kitchenette with a large retro style fridge, microwave, and a delicious selection of Kpods for your morning coffee fix. The grounds are well maintained with separate sitting areas throughout. There is even dog Astro turf for my service animals potty needs. They serve hot breakfast in the mornings. Pancakes, waffles, biscuits and gravy, yogurts, bagels, granola and other goodies. Silver Ridge Lodge with definitely be my go to when I am in town. read more

If you don't want cheap or high end hotel costs, this venue is a great consideration. Check in was easy. Staff very friendly. Hotel room was reasonably priced, clean, and everything worked well. I couldn't recommend this place enough. Jay, one of the owners, is incredibly kind and was very attentive to us. The staff followed suit, providing services with many personal touches that are very uncommon these days. The rooms themselves are far nicer than other places in similar price ranges, clean, well lit, etc. It almost seems like a contractor might own it, the furnishings, appliances, and general craftsmanship being of great quality and appearance. They have a great hot tub, solid breakfast, kind staff, are great to pets, and central to everything. Can't be beat. read more

Was not expecting much from the outside given I'm from the city but the room was a massive surprise. It's a big room with a massive bed, plenty of living space with a full couch and table. There is a entire tiny kitchenette with a coffee maker and free coffee. Bathroom is rather small but who cares tbh. read more

Google wouldn't let me leave a review so I'm doing it here. I love this hotel. The rooms are so nice and so clean. The parking lot has chairs and a pet area. The breakfast is good as well! The staff is so friendly and accommodating. I take my dog on a hiking trip every year and 2/3 years we've been in the Salida area and have had a great time. I think we are just going to keep coming back and staying here every summer! The TV has apps so I was able to use YouTube. It's close to downtown, hiking trails, the Arkansas River. We had a great trip and are sad to leave tomorrow, but we will be back! read more

Came into Salida, CO, and decided to get a hotel here for the night. Came across this gem, and couldn't have been happier.... The owners were so friendly and accommodating and all the rooms had recently been updated, which were just wonderful!!! Everything was spotless and smelled so fresh. When you drive up to Silver Creek Lodge you are instantly transported back to a charming, fully renovated 960's travel lodge. Beautiful. Then you walk in your room and come back to 2020. The rooms are large with big bathrooms and are equip with a small 1950's style refrigerator. Awesome place. I've watched this property grow over the last 5 years by spending a week in July for my annual trip. Every year there's been improvements, face lifts and more comfortable features. Hard to believe it's the same place. I'll continue to return. Love the big refrigerator and big TV and new comfortable beds even though I don't spend a lot of time in the room, it's a pleasure to come "home" each evening after playing outdoors all day. read more

First person I met was a gem. Had beautiful eyes, only thing I can say really besides he was kind, laughed w us and was very efficient and accommodating. HE was an absolute gem. His rating is a 5 The room was fine for just sleeping in and that's what I wanted. I noted a couple hairs on the other side of my fitted sheet. Also a couple really short ones on the sheets of the bed under where the pillow was. I grabbed them w a Kleenex and removed them and decided not to tell the people I was with and believe the person who cleaned my room was a man who was losing his hair and made sure to pray before I went to bed. So far so good. In the morning I went to grab coffee to go. I had dropped my mask on the ground n stepped on it the previous night but when I realized the employee wasn't wearing one I relaxed and also saw the sign recommending them and walked it up grab my coffee n made it quickly n said good morning. As I'm going to get my kids the employee with no mask in tells me I need to have a mask on...... I explain I'm putting my lid on now, I'll step right out. (The doors two steps away). He tells me he really needs me to and from then on I just ignore him as I glance at him n realize he is still not wearing one. I finish, kindly tell him and the female with him to have a good day; they ignore me. I walk out. It all happens within two minutes but still. Kind of ridiculous. I was standing right next to an open door snd I realize they had no partition set up, but I wasn't near them. Also, practice whatever policy you expect to enforce your guests and employees to. And remember there are exemptions. read more

This place is rustic, an older hotel, but the wifi, hot water, ample heating, location and friendliness of the staff earn it a 5 star review. Is a stones throw (25min) from Monarche, and 2 hrs to Vail. Try Patio Pancakes down the road, breakfast/brunch sooo fresh and good. They also have good pharmacopia soaps, so much nicer than those usual hotel soap wafers that break and dry your skin. The staff is incredibly helpful here, will def stay again. They are under construction atm, but they asked about our schedule and started later one day, so accomodating. Can't wait to see how the new rooms come out. I'm going to look past the cold room that was either too hot or too cold, because everything else was great. For the price, the size of the room and it's comfort was spectacular. I think there was only one other hotel guest besides us, so we got the largest Queen bed room, that was quiet despite facing the highway. There were no extra blankets, and my towel left fuzz all over after a shower, but otherwise everything was great. Breakfast wasn't very gluten free friendly, but had a few snacky options. I'd stay there again, but I'd bring my own blanket. read more

This is a difficult review to write.. I stayed just one night - very good price, very clean room. You could SMELL the bleach in the bathroom and the sheets. For an older facility it is well-maintained. I like that it is family owned and not a chain. Those are pluses. Minuses-I made a reservation online yet when I went to check in was told I didn't have a reservation. I provided the email confirmation and even then was asked when I made the reservation. I responded that according to my confirmation email paperwork the reservation had been made two weeks prior. A room was available, but felt the customer service was just ok. No "I'm sorry for the mix-up" but more like suspicion that I made the error. Also, there are some things that could be updated - but the price reflects amenities. read more

This place has comfy beds, super clean rooms, friendly service and an ample free continental breakfast. They've recently upgraded to flat screen TV's, although you shouldn't sit in your room and watch TV with so much else to do outside! Other bonuses - HOT hot tub, ample pillows, an array of freebies in the room including toothpaste and full sized soap, and large sized mini fridge. Only complaints? Stayed here recently. It was newly renovated and the rooms were clean. It was a very comfortable stay and the place did exceed our expectation. At $101 per day for a queen room over the weekend, The price was also close to par with the other options around. We preferred this based on the new renovation. My husband and I were traveling through and decided to stop in this quaint town recently. We didn't have reservations and we were having a difficult time finding some place nice to stay downtown. So we headed over to the area where this motel is located and decided to stop. It was fine for a place to land for the evening. It is an older motel, very dated furniture and such. The bed was extremely hard. But it was clean. They also have a Jacuzzi you can use. Breakfast was very basic but they did have a few delicious local peaches that were fantastic. I felt it was a bit overpriced for such a dated facility but if you're in a pinch it'll work. It is located close to several restaurants and not far from downtown where you'll find very charming places including the river stream that runs through the town. read more

Yes, the microwave is older than dirt and the TV is pretty old too, but my stay was comfortable and relaxing, and I wasn't worried about bed bugs or a grimy shower. My only complaint was that my food froze in the refrigerator. Oh, well. As with most hotels in the area, prices change with the seasons and with the festivals. During FIBArk, prices are the highest.
