They recommended I contact APS... who arrived pretty quick - turns out those type of issues inspire 1st responder like "show up times"... Andrew, Chandler and Jim (APS tech) - worked together to replace the melted wire and insured the connection was secure. This was a serious issue, so much so that in cases like this, Jim is required to deactivate power to the property until the wire is repaired. In addition to the potential of causing a house fire, the issue could have caused a wildfire (the property is at the base of Granite Mountain). Thank guys - you're life savers!

Mario…read moreand Frank came out to analyze my surge protection status as I wanted to protect that huge investment from the electrical spikes common to Arizona. They did a full system analysis and checkout including house grounding system, various interior tests to check switch and plug integrity, main and sub panel contact security and as well as an operational check of a generator system. They explained and installed separate voltage/current surge protection units to each furnace. Very neat and carefully installed. Numerous excellent suggestions for important improvements as well as finding an off brand circuit breaker that was not designed for my panel box. Great find! All in all, excellent friendly, careful and patient work which I really appreciated. The also, took the time to explain WHY they recommended certain changes. Family feeling to their service. After the initial work was done I had to request multiple times for him to complete the installation of fixtures. After excuse after excuse he showed up with a guy who had never done electrical work. He had him do most of the work shouting out instructions from across the room and did not check it thoroughly. He piled excessive charges based on addition work I requested. I did not ask and he did not say there would be extra charges. I stupidly paid him for all work even though he did not give me a final invoice with provision that he would comeback and complete all items and any punch list items. I made several requests to finish the work which we agreed to a date. He did not show up. I have hired another electrician who is completing or correcting Brian errors.

I called Connolly to repair my 7 1/2-year-old heat pump system after it stopped working. The…read moretechnician was at my home for less than 10 minutes before telling me that the system was "contaminated," needed to be flushed, and that I should replace the entire unit. The estimate for a new system was nearly $16,000. I felt that recommendation was excessive, so I decided to get a second opinion. The second company diagnosed the problem as a faulty valve inside the condenser unit. The repair cost was approximately $1,100, and my system is now working properly. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before approving any major repair or replacement recommended by Connolly. I would not use their services again.

A few weeks ago, I couldn't find the name of Connolly electric…read morebecause I'm older now, and a certain company came up, and all I wanted was to have insulation installed on my outer AC pipes to the outside of my house. I couldn't find the proper insulation, so I hired ****** to do the job. He did a great job, however, he comes in the house to inspect my unit, and notices that there was a rust stain at the bottom of my HVAC system. He proceeds to tell me that it may not have much life left, and he also noticed rust on the fan outside. Obviously, water wasn't draining correctly, however, my system worked perfectly, giving me great heat and great air conditioning. He said that I needed a new unit, and that prices were going up practically every day. I told him that I would wait until it broke, but he was insistent. Even my wife told him that we couldn't afford it. I'm really hard to sell, as I was a top salesman in my company. Somehow, he finagled his way out of my wallet. He quoted me $14,000, and I went for it for some stupid reason. The following week, they come to my house to install the unit which is almost twice as large as the one I had. I told him I didn't think I needed such a large unit, and from what I remember, he told me I did because it was very hot here. Anyway, three guys came to install it, and first of all, I don't know whether it's their fault on or not, but a downdraft unit came instead of an updraft one. The guys had to wait many hours for another one to be sent. Eventually, it came, however, the unit was so large that the tray that holds the filter underneath wouldn't fit, as the guy forgot to measure correctly. They actually installed it without a filter underneath so we'd have air conditioning. Fortunately, the filter fit in my intake in my house so we wouldn't get dust through the unit. When the machine turned off, the vents banged as there was too much pressure for my little house. Also, they did not change to a higher amp fuse, which should have been 60 amp instead of 30. They put in a 5-ton unit, and I had a 2-1/2 ton unit prior. I told Connolly that our bedroom in the front of the house faces the Sun, and it was hard to cool and heat only that room, so they put a 3-ton unit in. Here's the deal, instead of paying $14,000, I paid $8,200, almost HALF the price from Connolly. My builder will only use these guys, and since my guy is honest, I will agree. Damn, I should have called him first! Oh, by the way, my house is only 7-1/2 years old and 1,500 s.f. large. I would have reported the other guys to the Arizona Contractor office, but they gave me my 7,000.00 deposit back. Just be careful who you deal with, and thanks, Steve, for a wonderful and clean install, as well as Trevor and Todd, who I assume are either owners or managers.
