I am absolutely shocked that this place has not been shut down by NJ- Animal Contol. I boarded by…read more6 year old Jack Russell here for 5 days. When she arrived she was lively, sweet, cuddly and eager. When I picked her up she had lost 4 lbs, had bald spots from either self-harm or rubbing against a crate that was too small. The owner then handed me a black trash bag that contained the remnants of my sweet dog's bed- it was shredded to pieces (either my dog was so upset that she tattered her own bed for the first and only time ever or another dog was so close and aggressive that she had to witness it). The trash bag also weighed close to 15lbs due to the amount of urine that was soaked in it. It took my Russell nearly 2 weeks to settle back into a peaceful way of life. Clearly she had not been given the opportunity to relieve herself in an appropriate setting, let alone walk for any distance. If I had the ability to drive back and board up the doors to this animal hell-hole myself I absolutely would. NEVER EVER TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR BELOVED PETS.

He smelled of urine and the moment I got him outside he peed for 3 minutes and poo'd 4-5 times as though he had been holding it the whole time. My cousins dog was in a similar shape and had destroyed and urinated on her own bed. You aren't able to see where they put the dogs and i don't believe they have access to an outside run. I won't be using this kennel in the future.

I feel so fortunate to have found Paws First, which gives me the option to have my pets cared for in their own home. The ability to book online makes arranging for pet sitting so easy and convenient. Response time is always very quick, and the rates are reasonable for the peace of mind these people provide. I love getting email updates on how my dogs are doing. Even when they're naughty and get into the trash or have a little accident, everything is in order when I get home and my dogs are happy and loved. **Need to add an update because of one visit in particular. It has taken me a while to be able to write this. Over the Summer, I had the amazing folks from Paws First watching my dogs while I was away for the weekend out of state. My senior dog's health had been in decline for a while, but it didn't seem to be cause for too much concern- just typical old dog stuff. One night, her health took a very sudden and dramatic turn. It was clear that if she were brought in to the the vet that she would not be returning. I didn't want my old girl's last moments to be spent someplace unfamiliar. The staff at Paws First went above and beyond to provide extra care and comfort to her when she needed it most so I could race home to be with her. I am forever grateful for all they did for her.

Made an appointment to have the Dr. do bloodwork and send me both results and price to have removed. cost over $400.00 for bloodwork and never received results. Called today and they told me that the Dr. they set up to review the growth doesn't do surgery, so the invoice for surgery may not be correct so they never sent me results. Oh, and the blood work came back with showing elevated something from his kidneys. No phone call, no email. I had to call them weeks later to find out why they never contacted me. I assumed everything was fine. Newkirk must of retired.

After being taken in an exam room I was told of all the vaccines and preventative treatments available . This made me feel uncomfortable. I realize my puppy needs core vaccines but without even meeting me, the "Holistic" doctor came in with a syringe. I told her I felt uncomfortable and I would be leaving. I apologized and said I would pay a cancellation fee for her time. Went to the front desk and they told me it would be $145. And that was discounted! I complained and the they said I would be sent to collections if I didn't pay. I paid because I wanted to get out of there! The doctor never even touched my puppy! Horrible place ! Don't go there! They actively prey on the love you have for your pet, knowing you will do whatever it takes to help them, and they use that vulnerability to financially destroy you. The price gouging is so severe, so calculated, and so shameless that it feels like outright extortion. This is especially true with their medications. It is absolutely sickening how they hold your pet's health hostage by charging astronomical, unjustifiable markups on life-saving medicine that costs a fraction of the price anywhere else. They know your animal needs it to survive or be out of pain, and they use that exact desperation to line their own pockets. Every single basic necessity is marked up to a disgusting degree while they casually tally up a bill that leaves you gasping. You go to a vet expecting comfort, compassion, and urgent medical care. Instead, leaving this place just leaves you feeling completely hollow, sick to your stomach, and utterly robbed. It is a devastating realization that the people you trusted with your helpless animal couldn't care less about whether they live or die, as long as the invoice is paid. They are a soulless, greedy operation running a racket on terrified pet owners. Please, I am begging anyone reading this, do not take your animals here. Save yourself the heartbreak, the trauma, and the financial ruin. Go to a vet who actually has a heart.
