I called to make an appointment for myself. I asked the receptionist if there was a way where I could send my referral through a secure email. I explained that my primary care physician does not have access to send faxes. She cut me off and said "well, you'll just need to wait" I explained again my PCP does not have fax access. And once again she told me to "well you'll just have to wait it out" I asked if there was someone else who I could speak to and she said she was the only one in office, she called herself the Lead MA. Again I asked, as the lead MA if she could help me and she said no. I called back again to get her name, Eunice. Very disrespectful and lack of professionalism. Now I wondering how many patients had this office lost due to this behaviour. She needs to be removed immediately from her position. New staff renovation is very much needed for this office. I had a rheumatology appointment on January 21, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. The front desk staff and intake were kind, but once Dr. Banerjee arrived around 4:10 p.m., the experience turned negative. She asked me why I was there, I told her it was for a follow up on the labs she ordered in our initial meeting but that a lot had happened since we last met. I updated her on new diagnoses from Mayo Clinic, including fibromyalgia. She claimed EDS patients "cannot" have fibromyalgia and dismissed Mayo's assessment. She said Mayo Clinic doctors were not God. She insulted the Mayo doctor (EDS expert at EDS clinic), saying they were "probably not a doctor, just a nurse or someone's wife" and "knew nothing.". She told me she wouldn't see me again and that I had "nothing." She also stated that she would tell my PCP to never run ANA labs on me again. When I told her I don't understand why she was aggressive she said I was aggressive; I simply stated my medical history and offered to show her clinical notes with diagnosis with rationale and how I met the diagnosis criteria but she refused to look at them. I was out of the office by 4:17. No patient deserves this treatment. Others need to know this behavior is unacceptable. Complaints were made. read more

9/14/2021 - Took 3 weeks to get an apt scheduled then once scheduled was another 3 weeks to be seen, 1 week after making my actual apt I was called and asked my vaccine status to find out Dr Banerjee is only seeing vaccinated people at this time. Do not waste your time having your labs sent over, following up with the staff and making an apt if you are not vaccinated. Total waste of time. read more

Literally the worst Doctor I've ever had the displeasure of seeing. Her nurse is combative, disrespectful and hateful. Dr. Banerjee will make you wait for hours in the waiting room only to be completely dismissive and not give you the help you so desperately need. She would refuse to refill my prescriptions if my labs weren't to her liking and she made inappropriate comments about my weight after I had a baby. A good rheumatologist means the difference between walking and a wheel chair. With lupus, it may even mean the difference in life and death. Dr. Banerjee is a awful rheumatologist for the following reason: 1) Getting prescriptions refilled takes 4-5 patient and pharmacy requests, and typically ends with an insult by her always incredibly hostile nurse. In this insurance environment, those kinds of lack of attention to detail can cost the patient many hours on the phone, and potentially cost thousands of dollars. 2) She is the only rheumatologist in the world who refuses to complete the annual disability paperwork that many of us with crippling arthritis need. 3) She left the country on an "emergency" without making plans for or notifying patients who get monthly infusions or chemo type treatments. 4) It's clear that she would like to run her practice the same way a surgeon does. She wants to come in, solve a problem and leave. Rheumatic illness are whole body and sometimes debilitating illnesses that require more than a five minutes of time every 12 weeks. We take drugs which can kill us. Good luck trying to get a follow up if you have a problem. Phone calls are very seldom returned. (So far, I am batting 0-6 in calls). 5) She is a personable Doctor, but clearly has little interest in running her practice. If she did, she wouldn't talk over her patients, take calls in the middle of appointments and refuse to listen. She would also hire a practice manager, which is what she sorely needs. 6) The lackadaisical attitude is really dangerous when a doctor sees elderly patients. I would not send my 92 year old father to her. Perhaps Banerjee will read the overwhelmingly negative reviews and do something about her practice. I hope so read more

The review written by "skeptical g" says EVERYTHING I wanted to say. It is spot on! Do you want a good, caring doctor who wants to help you? Go elsewhere. Want your disability paperwork filled out? Go elsewhere. Want a doctor who will listen to your concerns and treat you with respect? Go elsewhere. Want a nurse who will treat you like a human being? Go elsewhere. Need your medication refilled properly and in a timely manner? Go elsewhere. She left the country for some weeks and simply closed her office. No one answering the phone, no doctor on call and no way to get medication. Her nurse is stridently rude and yelled at me until I hung up on her. I still can't believe I actually hung up on a "medical professional" for shouting at me!!! I waited an hour and a half to see the doctor, she came in for 5 minutes - ANSWERED HER CELL PHONE- then left me in the exam room for another 15 minutes, then spent about 5 minutes with me and I was dismissed. Did I mention the nurse is a total harridan? It took me from June until November to get my new biologic medication filled due to the ineptitude of her office. My insurance approved it in June and it took 5 months to actually receive it because her office has no one running it. Here's the thing Dr. Banerjee doesn't seem to understand: having any of the illnesses she's purportedly qualified to treat means that the patient has a diminished quality of life and that it is the responsibility of a GOOD DOCTOR to do what they can to ameliorate their suffering. I wish I had checked Yelp before going to see Dr. Banerjee. I agree with all the reviews listed here (including the ones that are for some reason marked as not recommended). I found her from a list of the best rheumatologists in Dallas in D Magazine, which I can only assume now was paid advertisement and not based in reality. My average wait time before being called in for my appointments has been between 45 and 90 minutes - and these are early morning appointments, not later in the day where it might make sense for her to be running behind schedule. When she finally comes into the room - with no acknowledgment that your time has been wasted - she spends about 5 minutes with the patient going over lab results. She seems bored. If an issue is not reflected in the lab work (pain, fatigue, and numbness often don't show up in blood test results), she is not interested in hearing it and dismisses it almost immediately. She has left the room in the middle of a visit to answer her phone or tend to a patient in another room, and when she comes back, the visit is over - there's no picking up where she left off. If anything does show up on the lab work, she refers EVERYTHING to other doctors - things that she should be able to treat as a physician certified in internal medicine and things that are clearly related to lupus. When I mention treatments that have worked for me with other rheumatologists, she refuses to prescribe them. Her office staff, which was exceedingly rude and dismissive when I started going to see her, has become less so. It's still not great, but one of the women who was the nastiest seems to not work there anymore, so I can at least make phone calls without worrying about getting hung up on. That said, good luck getting any calls returned if you leave a message. And good luck getting prescriptions approved for refills on the first 3 tries - even if you told her you needed it during your visit. She does not listen to anything that's not coming out of her own mouth. I've stayed her patient for 2 and a half years because I thought maybe it was just me. But after reading the other reviews, I will definitely be finding a new rheumatologist. I suggest anyone reading this do the same. read more

New rheumatogists-Dr. Pooja Banerjee, MD Do not see her .... made appoints that were far apart due to getting test/labs for open heart surgery. When I was able to I made appt and when I went she scolded me on my appts not being constant regardless of me being out for open heart surgery. She hinted to her dropping me as her patient ... open heart surgery 2 Months ago complications led to late rehab start! She asked me to lower my tone when o was speaking softly due to recent Open heart surgery - my daughter got Up and left. She stilled billed me/insurance for the day as well! When you experience chronic pain for several years that affects your livelihood and the relationships you have with the people you love the most, it's essential to have a doctor who listens. Pooja Banerjee DOES NOT LISTEN. I have been trying far too long to describe my pain to her, but it goes in one ear and out the other. In my last appointment, I mentioned that I saw a neurologist who ordered a wide range of new labwork. She didn't agree with the labs ordered and went so far as to discredit him, because she felt that the labs he ordered were excessive and too expensive. He wanted to test me for multiple myeloma based on the symptoms I was describing. She seemed to think that I wasn't worth the expense of this test in particular. She suggested that I just give him the set of labs that were a year old and also incomplete based on what he specified. The physician whose judgment she questioned actually listened to me for about 20-30 minutes. He paid close attention to my present symptoms and my symptoms over the course of a few years. He asked detailed questions that led me to describe other things I had forgotten about. He was thorough, detailed and respectful. Who knows?, hopefully most of those tests DO NOT show anything that would cause concern, but at least he paid enough attention to order tests that actually explored potentially serious issues my symptoms. It's her ego that not only keeps her from listening, but leads her to discredit any ideas that are not her own perspective--including your personal description of pain and other symptoms, your personal observations of your condition over time, and even your assessment of your present condition. Furthermore, she discredits other physicians' perspectives who are working on your behalf and have actually taken the time to listen to you. I do not recommend this physician. read more

I have never been treated so poorly by a Doctor and her nurse in my entire life. I had seen this particular doctor a year ago and she ordered an extensive amount of blood work and after the blood work was completed I would make a follow up appointment to go over the results. However before I could do the blood work I suffered massive bi lateral pulmonary embolisms. A year had passed and I was still having the same issues that I had originally seen this doctor for so I called and asked if the doctor could re write the blood work orders so I could complete that portion before seeing the doctor. The front desk staff consulted with the doctor and she told them I would need to come in and speak with her again since it had been a year. I understood and made the appointment. Fast forward to today. I went in for my appointment and was taken back to the exam room by her main nurse. She spoke down to me and dismissed me when I tried to explain about the bi lateral pulmonary embolisms that nearly killed me. 45 minutes later Dr. Pooja entered the room and asked why I was there and then told me she was canceling my appointment because I never did the bloodwork and that she would not talk to me until the tests were done. I then told her I specifically asked her staff when I made the appointment if they could just schedule the blood work before meeting with the doctor. Dr. Pooja said that wouldn't have happened and then stood up and asked me to stay in the room while new orders were written up. Apparently Dr. Pooja, the rheumatologist thinks that I love just spending time in doctor offices. I left her office and just cried in my car. I swear some doctors believe they are so entitled and their time is more valuable. I would never recommend Dr. Pooja' practice. read more
