Well, I hate to do this. But they forced my hand. I had Jeff Martija build me a large in ground spa, or spool as we like to call it. Back in 2017. Well, we recently discovered a design/build problem with regard to the way the electric was run to the pool light. The junction box was mounted too low and pool water siphoned back into the junction box and then from there siphoned into my pool control panel! Which is ALL ELECTRIC and obviously should not be wet! After contacting Jeff to get his help, it became apparent he was unwilling to correct the problem. I believe the company is no longer in business but I still see a website and I am pretty sure Jeff is building pools still. So just beware. I ended up fixing it myself, but that should not have been the case imho. If he was an upright guy, he could have corrected this error since he was the builder. Honor your products. ‍ read more

Third time my 1-star review of Pool Logic has been removed... I'm one of at least 2 dozen SoCal homeowners who signed contracts with Pool Logic over the last couple of years. We're teaming up to bring our complaints to light. We all have similar dealings with them: 1. Signed contracts with Pool Logic - swayed by overwhelmingly positive reviews at the time (2020 to 2021) and mind-blowing designs. 2. Dealt with excuses and delays that greatly exceeded the timelines. 3. Paid the our projects on schedules that essentially front-loaded the costs (later finding out that the money was being used to float owner Jeff Martija's lifestyle and other projects) We were informed in late June 2022 that principal Jeff Martija's license was revoked and Pool Logic would cease operations. This, despite dozens of unfinished projects that were paid up to within 10% of the completion total. Several of us have filed against Pool Logic's surety bond, have filed complaints with the Contrator's State Licensing Board, filed complaints with BBB, and some have sued in court. My complaint with the CSLB was thorough enough that it has been turned over to investigation as there is also a potential that several of the persons working with Jeff, such as office managers and project managers, are doing so unlicensed. Steer away from Pool Logic at all costs. Owner Nick is rude, insensitive and unprofessional. These company is extremely overpriced and they have poor workmanship (neighbor unfortunately used them and regrets it). Not knowing much, I signed contract for a an oversized spa for $140,0000 ( NO POOL) and within 2 weeks came to find out this was extremely OVERPRICED. They lack communication and are understaffed. Oh and if you cancel BEFORE they do any work, kiss goodbye to your $1,000 deposit and they will ask you for MORE MONEY. Dont pay within 48 hours? "WE WILL BE FORCED TO PLACE A MECHANIC LIEN ON YOUR PROPERTY" NICK (owner) your full of it! I'll update this review with more details after I've had some time to resolve the issues they left behind, but I hope this information will help someone avoid this company (or to finally move on from them) in the meanwhile. I signed with Pool Logic on August 1st 2021 for an 88K pool/spa project. The pool has been left untouched since February 2022. It became a part-time job calling my project manager to beg for updates (he ignored nearly all of my calls and texts). I was told there were delays getting equipment and labor to install and there was simply nothing they could do about it. I finally got a hold of him Friday 6/24, almost a year after signing, where he admitted that Pool Logic no longer had the money to pay for our equipment (this is after they already collected 83K from us), and employees were no longer being paid either. He was directed to lie to me for months to buy them more time. I was told they were trying to come up with solutions over the weekend, and I would hear from them Monday (yesterday). Predictably, they never called, and all calls/texts are going unanswered again. Please save yourself the stress and heartache: do not work with Pool Logic. If you have a current project with them, please find a way to protect yourself before giving them any more money. If you're in my situation, where you're desperately trying to work it through with them and figure out a way to salvage the project, my honest advice is to walk away. Any promise they make is almost immediately broken, and it's not worth your mental and physical health to deal with people like this. I'll be pursuing new bids to complete the work and filing a claim against their bond insurance to recoup as much as I can. We chose this pool builder because it had great ratings at houzz. They advertise as a luxury pool builder so we assumed that we would have a good customer experience. Their designer was very professional and was very pleasant to work with and we signed the contract with him in July 2021. At that time, the designer said it will take 2 months for the permit and 3 months for the construction. Permit came out in February after 7 months. It was a huge setback but moving forward we went ahead and scheduled excavation. On excavation day, Corey, the project manager, told us that construction for our small 11.5' x 32' pool will take another 5 months. At this point, our schedule was already running at12 months for our small pool. We were doing well during the first part of the construction. After the first inspection, Corey became unresponsive. We try to contact him every couple of days but could not get a response. His superior, Brian, just tells us that he will get Corey to reach out to us but we're still waiting. If you're looking for someone to build your pool, keep looking. It is very unpleasant and unsafe to live with a big hole in your backyard while you are constantly begging your unresponsive builder to give you an update. read more

After referral from my friends and few other Quotes with pool companies I have decided to go with Pool Logic. Right from day 1, Asia was very responsive and reached out to me with any Q in couple of hrs 90% of the time for the whole project. we have a small yard and installing a pool was a challenge but Asia and her team worked with us to get what we want and adjusted the drawings multiple times with out any hesitation and spent lot of hours consulting on the design without charging us. They did NOT push us for anything and gave us ample time to think about it after the design was complete. After we decided to go with them the process was quick and got our pool and yard done with in 2 months. There were no surprises and every thing was brought to our attention and was always given options to decide rather than pushing for it. They came back several times after our pool was done to finish up on things that were held up because of unforeseen situations. one bad experience that I had was the landscaper Jason ( Sunscape Landscaping) that they recommended, who turned out be a jerk and very incompetent. I expressed my dissatisfaction with Asia couple of times and she fired him right after without any hesitation. She got in another person and helped me fix the things that he messed up on. I like the way they handled the situation and helped me get out the mess he left. It was a bad experience for both of us and was told they kicked him out and will never refer him to any other person. I have waited almost 8 months to write this review because I wanted to see how their follow up was after the job was completed and they have always exceeded my expectations and always returned my call with any Q and follow ups. I never thought I would be able to afford a pool! Pool logic made it happen! I had 3 other quotes and both were more expensive then pool logic. One company handed me a 2d hand drawing of what they pool would look like, and another company just wanted to show me all of his local work. My pool turned out just like it was designed, and at the estimated price. Levi came over and designed it. He did a perfect job of giving us a big enough pool and spa, while not using up the entire backyard. The space is very well balanced, and we have been enjoying the pool daily. Delaney, our project supervisor, has been absolutely wonderful to work with as well. He oversees multiple projects, but anytime I had a question he was timely to respond. Overall the project went very smoothly. We had some timeline setbacks because of rain (we installed in the winter months), but we knew they were doing the best they could to keep it rolling. Let us first start off by saying that if you are really serious about building a pool and creating your own personal oasis in your backyard, then you really need to have realistic expectations. Keep in mind that we are still living through a global pandemic where there will be delays due to labor and equipment shortages. There will be anxiety when you start such a large project like this and it will feel overwhelming, but Pool Logic will guide you through the whole process. We want to personally thank the owner, Jeff for working with all of our ideas and creating a tropical but modern pool design. He definitely knows what will look good and how to put it together. We want to also thank our project manager, Uncle Ed. Ed always made sure to keep the lines of communication open and was always a calming influence during times of frustration and anxiety, which will be normal during such a long and arduous process. We were also extremely impressed with the masonry crew and how masterful and detailed they were with lining every stone and block. Daniel and his crew were top notch and professional. Like all the other reviews, Corey took my money and left me with a big hole in my backyard. I now have to hire another contractor to finish the job they abandoned AND fix the shoddy work that they DID complete, and it's going to cost me an additional 25k that I hadn't accounted for. I found Pool Logic on Instagram and loved all their unique modern designs. I called in late October to set up an appointment to get my pool done in Riverside area. Their team responded quickly. As most people do after making the significant financial decision to build a pool, I diligently scoured the internet in search of the best pool builders (actually spent hours researching contractor ratings, reviews, websites, etc.). We narrowed our search down to a few highly rated companies and received bids. Pool Logic was right there in the same price range as the others. The deciding factor for us was Asia. She and her husband Joel were the ones who showed up to give us the initial bid. They listened intently to what we were wanting, respected our budget and provided their professional input. At the end of the day, it really just came down to our gut feeling that they were honest, quality people who genuinely cared about making our vision come to fruition. Best decision we could have made! Fast forward a couple months later, we now have an amazing pool and yard. As in all major construction projects, minor issues inevitably arise so it's imperative for people to be involved in the process. The fact that Asia was always available to help solve those issues without hesitation is what was so impressive and is what we believe really sets Pool Logic apart. There's no doubt in my mind that this type of attention to detail and customer service in the pool building industry is uncommon. Early on, we were even invited over to Asia's parents' and brother's homes to view their pools and get some design ideas. They were all equally kind and gracious, which is a testament as to why their family owned and operated business is so successful and amazing. Lastly, all of their in-house employees and subs were great to work with. They are obviously all on the same page when it comes to courtesy, professionalism and quality of work. "Summer 2022 has been the best one yet! We made so many wonderful memories with our friends and family splashing around in our brand new beautiful pool. We hosted both our son and daughter's graduation party in our luscious back yard, invited all of our friends over for our annual luau filled with leis and tiki torches, mai tais and pina coladas flowing, pineapple floaties in the pool that majestically lit up in the evening, and then cozied on up in the cascading waterfall spa while glazing up at the stars. They're modern-day thieves--conmen who lie and swindle without remorse. No logical person would hire such an oxymoron as Pool Logic. The amount of money they've taken from us all will go down as the most expensive lesson we ever did learn but rest assured that we will seek to mitigate all the loss and damages. Unfortunately had such a bad experience with this company AFTER we signed and it was time to break ground. We dealt with the Ontario location. We Still have a cracked pipe in the pool and now our backyard is flooded due to our drainage being blocked by plaster that was just washed away into the drains during construction. Both of these issues could have been avoided and fixed had they just listened to our initial concerns during construction, but acted like we were crazy and didn't know what we were talking about. His business took off like a wildlife. He was building amazing pools left and right. I believe he grew too big to fast and unfortunately a contractor is only as good as his subcontractors When multiple issues arise it can snowball into something that can swallow you... Like trying to put a forest fire out with a garden hose. . Sometimes less is more. Maybe if he kept the business smaller he would have had more control and stop the bleeding. Having spent hours on end researching and reading blogs on pool building and nightmare contractors, we knew this was not going to be a relatively easy or fun task. We had met with at least 12 different contractors. Many who never followed up with us, a couple who were not a good fit, and one who talked over me throughout the entire consult. From the moment we met Jeff and he showed us a design, we knew he was "the one". We were ready and prepared for hiccups and road blocks, but Jeff proved us wrong. He is young and creative and takes pride in his work and designs. He does not create your typical cookie cutter pools, but is innovative to the industry. His crew, from the excavators to the masons have been great to work with and did everything possible "to make me happy" every step of the way. The entire process has moved so quickly that family and friends could not believe how quickly everything came together. I started researching for pool contractors late August 2017. I've contacted about 10 different contractors. Only Poollogic agreed to provide an in-home quote in that same week. All other contractors either provided no response or agreed to meet two or three weeks later. Levi, the Design Consultant, from Poollogic responded to my Yelp request within hours and scheduled an appointment within 2 days. Levi is incredibly knowledgeable with the pool construction process and answered all my questions. Within the same day he has developed a detailed 3D design and after 3 or 4 days of back and forth emails, he has created a very detailed written contract ready for me to sign. The written quote has all detailed information such as, decking material, interior finish, pool equipment brand and model, etc. At this point I haven't met with other contractors so I told Levi he wouldn't hear from me until I get other quotes. I believe it took about a month or two before another contractor provided me some sort of quote. Even then the quotes I received are just verbal and not as detailed as Poologic's quote. After 2 months of assessment, I've decided to go with Poollogic. There is one other contractor I contemplated with because its local. But since Poollogic provided more clarity (as far as what type of pool I'm getting) and professionalism, I just felt so much more comfortable with them. Once I signed the contract, Jeff, President of Poollogic, took over the project managing part. During the construction process it became obvious how organize, dependent and competent he is. He was able to handle all the minor changes and requests I asked for, and relieved me of the many stresses associated with construction. In addition, I observed how well he works with his team and appears to treat them fairly. I really believe Jeff is an honest person and wants to provide the best product for his customers. When Jeff is not in the work site, he usually notify me who the lead person for each phase of the construction, i.e. excavation, framing, plumbing/electrical, shock-crete application, decking, and pool interior finishing, etc. My wife and I are so satisfied with our pool I've decided to ask Jeff to work on other parts of our back yard (concrete fencing and landscaping). The swimming pool and spa are up and running and I have very little doubt we made the right decision to hire Poollogic. read more

I told him what I wanted in a pool, and then other things that I might do if it was in my budget. I wanted those items itemized so I could pick and choose hardscaping things that didn't have to do with the pool. When I finally got a bid it was all lumped together and when I asked how much I would save by removing things like a fire pit, he told me good day, and fired me as a possible customer. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!!! Had our pool done in summer of 2019. Other than the initial person who helped with overall design, there is no one who will help you pick out materials. And if you don't have a material picked out, they move on to the next project. Also, the quality of work is very questionable. Within a year the back retaining wall of the pool formed a crack down the entire height down to the coping. We contacted our Project manager Asia who said it's covered under warranty and that they would fix it in early 2021. I've called and texted multiple times, absolutely zero response. Had a very unpleasant experience with them a few months back. I reached out to get a pool estimate for a remodel. Instead of scheduling a meeting, they called and "screened me." They asked how much I wanted to spend. Since I had no idea, I said 25k and they said their projects are typically 50k+. Then they politely told me get lost and never even scheduled the estimate. The whole experience was very unpleasant and offensive, and left a bad taste my my mouth. I'm leaving not leaving one star because I didn't have any work done by them. Our own piece of paradise! We consulted with half a dozen Pool Builders, but knew once we met with Jeff that Pool Logic was the one for us! From his sleek designs, excellent customer service, quality of product... Jeff and his team were impeccable! I worked with almost all of the team members to complete our project and each individual was diligent in getting any question we threw at them answered and any issue resolved. They remained professional the entire process, never slacking and always willing to get the job done. Communication is the most important part when dealing with contractors... The Pool Logic crew did an excellent job the whole way through. Jeff never pushed or tried to up-sell us on anything other than what we asked for. He did suggest things that would enhance our pool features, functions and longevity. He is honest and knowledgable and fully capable of delivering the pool and landscape of your dreams! He spends countless hours after the office is closed to make sure he's on top of things. I can contest to many late night emails exchanged and random questions answered. From start to finish, my husband and I were impressed. The crews that worked on our pool, were efficient and organized. They answered all questions I had for them (and I had many!) We were quoted 7-8 weeks for completion... due to rain and a few minor set backs, we were completely finished at 11 weeks on the dot! Not bad, normally we would double the estimated time given, but this was not the case :) Since our pool has been up and running, we have spent a lot of our time outdoors enjoying our little piece of paradise! Let me start by saying, I know nothing about building pools. The best part about this experience was that I didn't have to. Pool Logic was amazing. Ryan came to my house, took some measurements, and, within a week, I had a phenomenal design with features I didn't even know were possible. From there we entered the studio to make some custom modifications through 3D modeling so I could actually visualize the end result (this made all the difference). We met with several pool contractors, Pool Logic was by far the most professional and easy to work with. Next, I was assigned to Eric, who was our project manager. Eric made sure scheduling and construction were not delayed and was able to answer the 100's of questions we had along the way. I had heard several horror stories from friends about construction being delayed or contractors not showing up from other pool builders. From design to the end of construction was just over 3 months and our backyard has been transformed into the backyard we had envisioned when we moved in 5 years ago. I cannot recommend Pool Logic, Ryan, and Eric highly enough. The quality of work, professionalism, and customer service can't be beat. A big thank you to this company. Pool Logic finished our pool late July and we absolutely love it! We got a quote from the company who did our last pool and it was really high. From there, I went to Yelp and found Pool Logic. Their quote was much easier on the eyes and their design was more than we could ever imagine. We knew we wanted a zero-edge pool but didn't have any ideas beyond that. Their designer Lucas did a great job putting our vision into a design. We did an entire backyard remodel with them; zero-edge pool (with fire-bowls, water features), fire-pit, fireplace, bbq island, wall with a waterfall feature & tiling the floors. The implementation went well and everyone we dealt with was great. Jeff and team really made sure we were happy throughout the whole process. Troy came out on September 30, 2020, to give me a pool estimate, 3 months later still no estimate . I reached out to him on 2 occasions and he promised to send me the estimate and up to now, no estimate. I am very disappointed on the customer service. Jeff & Asia did a wonderful job of completing my pool this summer in about 3 months. That seems to be the industry standard from what research we did. The design of the pool by Jeff worked perfectly in our backyard and we couldn't be happier with the service we received throughout the project. Subs being subs there were a couple issues here and there but Asia and Jeff were easy to get ahold of and they took care of everything. AND I wasn't nickeled and dimed to death! Ultimately our wife and I are very happy with the work performed and the awesome outcome of our pool design. Most importantly our family and kids love it! We would and have recommend Jeff's team to our friends and family. Did I mention we have fire bowls with waterfalls coming out of the front?!? Well done! read more

So disappointed in Pool Logic. Two years ago, we received a quote from Jeff for a pool. Unfortunately, the timing wasn't right for our family, and we had to delay until this year. I reconnected with Jeff. He told me that prices had gone up 20% (ok, I understand that, it's been 2 years) and then proceeded to present me with a new quote. This new quote was 46% higher than our previous quote in 2018. What the heck??? I emailed Jeff to make sure I had the calculations correct, mentioning that the increase was 46% and not 20%. To this day, I have not heard back from Jeff. Such horrible customer service. Such horrible price gauging during a pandemic. What a jerk. I will never recommend Pool Logic to anyone. read more
