This store is close to other shops in a center that I frequent so I usually wander through once or twice a month. It's always clean and laid out conveniently. It's hit or miss with the staff--sometimes friendly, other times totally uninterested in the customers. and the staff is friendly and helpful. Frankly, while they have a large selection, I've never had much luck when I've been looking for something specific. On my last visit, I was looking for a dressier "walking" shoe that would be comfortable for walking and standing for long periods at my volunteer job. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful. But then I spotted the hot pink espadrilles. They came in my size. They would go with multiple summer outfits. They were comfy. I'm giving 3 stars based on past experience, but.. My husband used a BOGO deal. He was told that 1 pair must be picked up 140 miles from us!! The store and customer service wouldn't budge. We expected them to be shipped to him. He only got a refund of 1/2 of that pair. The other pair didn't fit and they wanted $7.95 to send them back! I popped into this store today to get a pair of crocs for my 8 year old niece. Sophia, a very sweet, cute and bubbly young lady hopped right to helping me. She helped me find the cutest sparkly pink crocs in the perfect size AND found an adorable unicorn Jibbit (is that how you say it?) for the shoes as well! I drove a good distance after calling to verify they had my size and a Buy one get one deal just to find out at the register the shoe I was shopping for didn't qualify for the BOGO deal. No signs were present on any shoes in the store explaining what is or is not qualified for the deal. After talking to Ashley (the manager on duty) she replied with theres nothing we can do because it says online that some brands are excluded. I informed her as a business owner myself I'd never have a sale without proper signage. The reply was "well they haven't put them up yet". The plan was to bring my 4 children back to buy another 8 pairs of shoes under the deal but looks like I will shop else where. Both sales associates that were in for the day I think it was actually the assistant manager and a lady named Amanda were both friendly and efficient. On 1/23/2021, I was contacted by Kristina on FB and she made it right. She emailed me two $10.00 gift cards for my grandkids plus as a bonus, they get to keep the $20.00 gift card. I will give Kristine 5 stars for making it right. Thank you. On 12/22/2022. My grandkids required gift cards from Famous Footwear for Christmas. I called the Bell Towne Center, 401 E Bell Rd, Phoenix, AZ., location and spoke with Bianco to make sure they had $50.00 gift cards. She said they did, and with $50.00, I would get a $10.00 bonus card. When I got there, Bianca waited on me. I told her I need two $50.00 gift cards. She rang up a $100.00 gift card. I told her no, the gift cards are for two different kids and I need two gift cards. I told her I could pay for them separately if that made it easier on her. So she started over. She said I did not need to pay for them separately, so I paid for the 2 gift cards. Then the trouble got worst. She said she can only give me one $20.00 bonus card. I said no, I need two $10.00 bonus cards. There are three employees trying to figure out how to get me two $10.00 bonus cards. After 30 minutes I gave up and took the $20.00 gift card. I have shopped at this Famous Footwear for years, today is the last time. I spent 150.00 there two weeks ago, two pairs for me and a pair of Vans for my Grandson. My grandson asked the salesperson if the Vans would split at the crease...separate fabric from rubber...the salesperson told him if we bought the waterproofing spray...yes, I should have known better...and sprayed the shoes that they would not split...well, 1 1/2 weeks later they were split. So we went in today and we were going to exchange them for a pair of Nikes so we wouldn't have the problem again. My grandson tried on 6 pairs...none fit correctly. The manager said only exchange...because they were worn...well, they were Defective!!! And he couldn't find another pair.... I finally lost it so she gave me a store credit grudgingly. No refund on the waterproofing spray even though her salesperson mislead us. Remember he only wore them a week and a half and they split...they were DEFECTIVE! No Refund just store credit.... Asked at Kohls if they would have refunded under those circumstances, yes, they would so would many other stores... Now I am stuck with a store credit for a store that I won't go to again! read more
