NOTE, if you are trying to find this place on the building it is the actual spelling of the acronym "Precision Orthotics & Prosthetics." It is called POP Prosthetics and on paper the POP logo is big so when I was looking for the location I was literally looking for the word POP. Don't do what I did! I was referred to POP by my doctor to obtain a hand brace. I was a bit confused because I thought it would be a regular store where you just walk in and pick up a brace, but when I arrived they had me check in, full out paperwork, obtained my driver's license and insurance. Similar to a doctor visit. I had a few questions, but the person at the front mentioned it was only her second day working so I said, "no problem, we can learn and find out together." They processed my insurance and gave me an option to bill my insurance to meet my deductible or pay for it without billing my insurance which would've been cheaper. Honestly, I thought was a bit weird, but I chose to bill my insurance. After that, they called my name and walked me into a room. The girl asked me a few questions then obtained my hand brace. She showed me how to try it on then I was on my way. One suggestion: you should notify the patient upon arrive the process to obtain the brace. I wasn't expecting to spend 40 minutes in there and I didn't know it would've been similar to a doctor's visit. The 3 girls in the front were super nice and friendly. The one that obtained my brace even offered me water while I was waiting. I'm not sure how they compare to other places or the cause of the not so positive reviews, but I've never had to shop for a brace before, but overall the experience was a positive one. read more

Service has really gone down hill. Three years ago I had a good experience when ordering compression stocking. I once again needed to reorder compression stockings and had a horrible experience. After waiting a month and still not having them I called and was told they didn't have the info from the doctor. I contacted the doctor. The next day I called to see if they got the info and was told it wasn't the doctor but the insurance they were waiting for. Finally a week later I received a call telling me I could pick them up. When I showed up at the Pecos office they didn't have them. I was told they were shipped to the other office and I would have to come back tomorrow to pick them up. When tomorrow came I was told they didn't have a driver to bring them over so I wouldn't be able to pick them up until the next week. The office staff are very unfriendly. When I questioned how long it takes to get compression stocking they told me it always takes 5 or 6 weeks to get them. Then they stated I need to plan my procedures better so they had time to fill the order. Went to Freedom Medical purchased a pair the same day and they were much cheaper. read more

If I could give this company zero stars I would. Brought my daughter in to get splints for her hands and wrists. They said they would have to get authorization from the insurance and once insurance authorized it, they would have us come in to do measurements of her hands and wrists, then they would put the order in to have the splints made. Received a voicemail roughly a week later saying insurance had authorized it. I called back a couple minutes later and a very rude lady answered the phone and said insurance hadn't authorized it, and had no idea why we were left a voicemail saying it was authorized. Then a couple days later I received another phone call saying it was authorized, and they asked us to come in for measurements. We go in for the appointment only to be told again insurance didn't authorize it, and that the appointment wasn't for measurements. The appointment was to see if there were any changes since the last time we saw them. I said to the gentleman you couldn't have asked us this over the phone? Why did we have to drive all the way over here for no reason? Then the guy admits he wasn't sure why we were asked to come in for an appointment. Unbelievable! Roughly a week after that we receive a letter from the insurance company saying it was denied due to a coding error. So I called to explain the letter we received, the lady that answered the phone was extremely rude and kept cutting me off and interrupting me. She told me to email over the letter and they'll work on it then call me back. A week goes by and haven't heard from them. I called and left a voicemail and wasn't contacted back at all. Called again and was told they redid the report for the insurance company and faxed it over to my daughters orthopedic dr last Friday for him to sign off on and once he does, then they'll send it to the insurance company. Called the orthopedic dr's office and come to find out they never faxed it over at all! That was the final straw, and we took our business elsewhere and we couldn't be happier with that decision! They are extremely rude here and no one seems to communicate or know what they are doing, and they definitely don't care about making you wait longer than necessary to get the prosthetic equipment you need. Meanwhile the patient is regressing, because they are dropping the ball and taking their sweet time! Please save yourself a lot of time and frustration and go elsewhere! read more

It took almost 2 months to get my shoes. Then I had to wait an additional week to come in and get them. I had pneumonia and tried to schedule a different day but due to the shoes taking forever to arrive and the end of the year I was told I had to come in sick. My experience at Pop Prosthetics was absolutely amazing and this is my 2nd time being at this location. They have a new staff now who are friendly and very caring. The CPO that works there that goes by Jess, is by far the best. I've dealt with a lot of CPO's but she takes the cake. She knew exactly what I needed for a prosthetic and also made sure that I got what I wanted, as well. She also told me about some new options that I didn't know I had, which is a game cha. Personally, this was one of the best experiences I have had. The wait was long, but they were extremely nice, and due to COVID and holidays I can understand the wait time. This is our second time using POP. The first time was about 2 years ago and no complaints! My daughter was due for new braces, so we chose to return to them based off of our prior experience! This time around has been awful. We went in with a prescription for my daughters braces from her ortho. We were fitted at the appointment as usual and told 2-3 weeks for a turn around time. We are over two months out from her fitting appointment and still no braces. I have called so many times trying to figure out what the issues was and when to expect her new braces in. Each time I have been told they are waiting on further documents from the orthos office ( even though they have an RX and notes attached ) . I have been in contact with her orthopedic and they said have sent over all requested documents more than once, haven't heard from POP since mid November and we are now into January. I call POP with no answer most of the time. Leading to a voicemail box that is full. I don't understand how they can run a business like this. We will definitely be going someone else and not recommending them. read more

Went in for a left knee immobilizer and the product I received was sub par. It was literally a piece of foam with Velcro and they charged my insurance over 200. The staff was not very friendly and I felt like I was just a dollar sign and not a patient. I will not be back. read more

My mother and brother went in to the office after being told over the phone their insurance would cover services. When they arrived they waited patiently over an hour to later be told their insurance would not cover and that they didn't have the product they needed. Poor communication and lack of care for people wasting their time, I doubt they will last long if this is something they do on a regular. Anyways, I would find other orthotics and prosthetic places before heading here if you're new. I will report this to Nevada Orthopedic Center the provider office who referred me to this place that really sucked. read more

The receptionist was the most unhelpful person I've come in contact with since I've been in Las Vegas. It's like all she cared about was batting her fake eyelashes and was so remedial and everything she said was going in circles and we were getting nowhere fast. We went back and forth for about 5 minutes and her coworker probably couldn't take it anymore so she stepped in. It took another staff member to actually come to the window and help me. However, the doctor (Bill) was extremely helpful and apologized for my experience. My advice is, she needs to spend less time picking out lashes and focus on her job and being able to provide real customer service to patients who come here. read more

This was by far the worst experience. My initial call I was on hold for 20 minutes and the person couldn't figure out how to make an appointment for me. I came in for my appointment. It took 40 min of me sitting in the waiting room for them to tell me I could pay $240 and use my insurance or pay their cash price of $120. They said I hadn't met my deductible for this year. I just looked online and it shows I have met my deductible. The girls at the front literally turned 3 people away while I was waiting prior to myslef also leaving. One elderly woman didn't have her prescription and clearly didn't understand what they were saying, they made no attempt to help her or call the doctor that referred her. It truly seemed like they were doing whatever to just get people to leave. The lady told me most boots are the same and I'd be fine to use my old one or find them cheaper online. I visited this company in Oct 2015 with a prescription for 2 pair of thigh high compression stockings. Mike was very helpful with the fitting and explanation of how to use the stockings. He told me that Blue Cross allowed 2 pair and the cost per pair was $110. Within 2 weeks the stockings were slipping down. I went back and saw Bill who gave me a bottle of glue to hold up the stockings. (Excuse me, but I'm not going to glue stockings to my leg!) I received my billing receipt from BC and Precision had charged BC for 4 pair totaling $400. I called BC to tell them about the gouging and BC called them and got some kind of song and dance from them. I went back to Precision and asked for the number for their billing dept. She would not give it to me but dialed the number and handed me the phone. This person double-talked me but it boiled down to them charging whatever they had to in order to get the full cost of their product. Just today I called Precision again and asked why my receipt said I received 4 pair. I was told they had to list it per leg and not by the pair. She informed me each pair cost $100. I will never use this company again because they are crooks. Even though I didn't have any out of pocket expenses for these stockings, it's companies like this that cause our insurance rates to keep going up. read more

I have been a patient of POP going on about 10 years now. I used to think Kevin Bidwell was the best prosthetist in town! So, I decided that wherever Kevin went, I followed. Kevin has now moved out of state and I thought to myself, "what am I going to do now"? Jimmy Colson, the owner and CEO of POP, assured me that he had pretty much done a search of the whole country to find a replacement for Kevin. I thought, well, you might find someone to take his place, but be as good as Kevin? Never.... Jimmy and I have been friends for about the same 10 year period, and there is one thing about Jimmy Colson. If he says he's going to do something, HE DOES IT! So what did Jimmy do? He searched for a new prosthetist and he had strict guidelines which he would not waiver from in doing so. The first requirement was the new prosthetist MUST be an amputee him/her self. I love that rule..... When I first met K.B.14 and half years ago, I saw immediately that he was an amputee and I silently prayed, Oh thank you Lord for sending me a person that has lived what I now am going to live like. Someone that understands the struggles, the way you will be accepted or not accepted for what you now are. To become not only stronger physically, but mentally also. Kevin was sent to me for a reason. Jimmy was sent to me for a reason. I am a believer that there are NO chance meetings. People are put in your lives for a reason. So when Jimmy told me he had found a person to take K.B.'s place, he promised me that he was the best there was out there. Jimmy told me he had found a young man that lived in Michigan and now was coming to Las Vegas to be his new "sheriff"(lol), in town. His name is Jeff Eschenburg and he fits all of my requirements and he is very, very, good. I was one of the first, and lucky, ones to be Jeff's patient. I had just gotten all of my new Medicare guidelines paperwork finally done. Had seen a Doctor and 2 different physical therapists. Had waited over 4 years for a new foot and socket and now was finally going to get it. Words cannot explain how I felt, not only after meeting Jeff, but seeing the work he does. This man is a perfectionist! Read my lips people. Perfectionist!! What an incredible job he has done on my new "leg" Between he and Matt, who is a tech at POP, they made me a super hero leg with a all-pro C foot. I was sad and worried when K.B. left. Today--- I am here to tell you that once again, Jimmy Colson has kept his word and come through with the best. I've pretty much written a short novel here. But, What I'm telling you is this. If you have a need to see someone about a prosthetic, orthotic, or brace of any kind, PLEASE do yourself a favor and go see the pros at POP. From all the ladies in the front to all the hard workers in the back. Jimmy Colson's Precision Orthotics and Prosthetics is the best in the west. I feel blessed once again and now must go. Where? To the swimming pool!!!! Jeff even took the time to use my old foot and new socket mold and made me something I have been wanting for, well, about 14 years. A swim/shower leg.
