I visited this place with some co-workers after we all ate lunch for someone's birthday. It's located on the top floor of the Anaheim Packing House near the main entrance. (The one where there's "fruit stands" filled with home goods, accessories, and Packing House souvenirs.) They take different flavored popsicle bars and dip them in chocolate and toppings of your choice. (Similar to Longboards Ice Cream truck, but a little more upscale in my opinion.) They offer a variety of flavors from fruit ones, traditional, and a few unique ones like matcha. The people who work there have been friendly and thorough when dipping each bar I've noticed - if you want a half dip, they do it at a perfect diagonal. I usually picked hazelnut, chocolate, or vanilla with a dark chocolate full dip and I'll add something salty like pretzels or nuts. As everyone else has noted, the ice cream bars aren't cheap, but if you're looking for cheap dessert, you won't find it in the Packing House. (The other ice cream place in here charges similar pricing for scoops of ice cream.) They also sell drinks here like frozen hot chocolate and coffee if you're not feeling a popsicle. Stepping off the plane in LAX, the first thing my sister said to me was, "We have to go to Popbar before we leave CA". I am glad we found the Popbar at the Packing District. It was a little confusing at first but they have a menu on the wall to walk you through the whole process They are very accommodating for people with but allergies so make sure you mention that if you are in need. The worker told me they make all their bars in store and with real/natural ingredients. My only complaints would be that they don't move quickly and the worker that adds the toppings did not seem happy to be helping my group. I also did not like the tip on the iPad register. I went on a Thursday night and it probably took me 20 min to find parking about a half mile away in a rough neighborhood. I do like that they have a variety of flavors and different type of bars between gelato, sorbetto , or pop, but it made it difficult to choose from! Especially since most of the sorbetto pops are tart, it sounded weird to add any type of chocolate or nuts onto it. I ordered the pistachio bar with milk chocolate drizzle and pistachio. It was a little difficult to eat since the pistachios kept falling off the bar and then it wasn't long before my ice cream started melting. So you better eat your ice cream bar fast, otherwise expect it to start dripping down your hands and everything. If you can get a seat to sit at and place a napkin underneath, it's not too bad but it was still pretty messy. The ice cream bar itself was overall to sweet for my liking. Ah, finally made it to the Popbar yesterday! Walked into the Packing District and the line to the Popbar was close to the entrance. After a couple of my friends told me about this new place called the Anaheim Packing District and an amazing dessert place inside I felt like I had to go check it out with some friends. The line was long, it took 15-20 minutes before we ordered. They have gelato, ice cream and yogurt popsicles that you can choose to drizzle/dip milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate. You can choose different toppings too. The only think I don't like is it is a little pricey, but I am sure they have to for their prime location in the packing district. Also I wish they had a list of all of the flavors up above, because by the time you get up there to be able to view what flavors they have you have to order. Popbar is a simple idea that is a little pricey but the concept and taste both work really well to at least experience once. I got the Green Tea popsicle and got a drizzle of dark chocolate and pistachios (you can get mostly unlimited of all the dips/toppings for $1 along with the $4 popsicle price). They have about 10 different flavors for the popsicles (from pineapple to strawberry to chocolate) which were pretty cool along with three different types of chocolate and about five different topping choices. The popsicle was surprisingly pretty soft and easy to bite into and the mix of drizzle and toppings made it one of the better popsicles I've had in a while. Two things that might be of issue: one is the price. I do think it's a bit pricey for a popsicle - it's best to use the toppings/dips to your advantage as you can get as many as you want. The other aspect is the line. This is located in the Packing District which gives it a cool vibe (and the nearby tables even have a paper top for easy cleaning) but the line is at least a 30 minute wait (at least on Saturday nights). Otherwise, I do hope to see more Popbars open up with more unique flavors and hopefully happy hour pricing deals or slightly cheaper options! read more

Kinda funny that I finally got to try Popbar when I've been to the Anaheim Packing House multiple times. I dunno popsicles never really appealed to me despite all the hype but I really enjoyed Popbar. I got their coffee popsicle w a full dark chocolate dip w almonds and caramel corn. It was really good. The coffee popsicle had a strong coffee flavor to it. Honestly I am not a fan of popsicles or ice cream. But if I had to pick a generic type of ice cream I love it would most definitely have to be coffee. And Popbar's coffee popsicle killed it! I was pretty impressed. And the dark chocolate on top w the almonds and caramel corn complimented the popsicle very well (I should give myself a pat on the back... I do not know what to say that has not been said in previous reviews, so I will keep this review short, simple, and sweet (just like me! Wah-Wah!) It is definitely a trendy thing to try at least ONCE if you visit the Anaheim Packing District (definitely grounds for the likes of young hipsters and trendsetters). You have options to choose your dip (though I recommend you look at the pictures in these yelp reviews to get an idea of what you can do to them) of chocolate and toppings. It was excellent. The bar did not melt. I enjoyed every bite and wanted another. I recommend this creamy iced bar of deliciousness. They have an assortment of gelato and sorbet based popsicles: Green Tea, Pistachio, Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Mango, to name a few. They all looked very tempting but I decided to go with Pistachio because it's one of my favorite gelato flavors. It did not disappoint! Once you choose your base, then you add your toppings. You can choose to have dark, milk or white chocolate either drizzled, fully dipped or half-dipped. Then you can add an assortment of nuts: pistachios, peanuts, almonds, hazelnuts, etc. I went with half-dipped milk chocolate with white chocolate drizzle with pistachios. It came out to around $4-5 with tax which is a tad on the pricier side but I would say it's pretty worth it just cause it cooled me down and provided me some sort of relief from the sun. I recommend eating it inside the air-conditioned packing district instead of eating it outside. It will melt quickly which means you have less time to enjoy it. This was my second time trying popbar out and my opinion about it hasn't changed. Initially what attracted me was how photogenic these pops were. Unfortunately the flavor does not match the beautiful exterior. I found flaws in both their sorbet and gelato pops. The sorbet pops are more refreshing, but the chocolate dip/toppings comes right off after your first bite. There is more variety for the gelato flavors and the toppings don't fall off of it. Both pops MELT SO FREAKING FAST though (it wasn't hot outside when I ate my pops either) MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. I was struggling a bit trying to figure out which flavor I wanted because there are no samples, which is reasonable because how would you sample a pop anyways.. Honestly, the taste was just okay. Along with the flavor being okay so was their customer service. LOL I literally felt like I was being helped by robots. The workers didn't really say much, they just look at you and expect you to say something first. (note: that is not how you get your tip BTW) There wasn't even a long line and I felt rushed from the start to finish. Overall, I would say try it once and take a picture. Then you can decide whether you want to come back. In my opinion, these pops are not worth the wait so get one when there is no line or you will most likely not be as satisfied. Green Tea Gelato: OMG, MATCHA CREAMINESS EXPLOSION. I was wary at first of tainting such holy nectar of the gods with milk chocolate, so I asked for only a half drizzle of it. However, foolish human that I was, I didn't know how much more amazing the milk chocolate made the green tea. I should of drenched my green tea bar into the chocolatey bath. I have been waiting to visit this place for the last 2 years. Seriously. Today was the day that we finally got to taste these amazing gelato popsicles! So th procedure is 1. Choose a popsicle (they all look so delicious). 2. Choose a dip and the way to dip i.e. half dipped/ half dipped with 2 different kinds of chocolate on each side/ drizzled. 3. Nuts or sprinkles. I can see this becoming addictive because there are so many possibilities and varieties to play with. I chose Matcha popsicle half dipped in milk chocolate and drizzled with white chocolate and pressed on a bed of nuts. The matcha popsicle itself was rich and smooth. My kids had pinã colada, blood orange, strawberry and mango. They all loved their popbars. It sure made my social media post pleasing to the eye with all these colours. Overpriced? Yes. 2nd time I visited Popbar and no where near disappointed! I know a lot of people either hate it or love it and I can understand why: long line, expensive popsicle and walkway is crammed next to the line - BUT IT'S SOOO GOOD! POPWICH: I was lucky enough to try the popwich early because it is not yet available to the public and it's actually pretty fire. It's a gelato ice cream sandwich and what's really cool about it is that it's on a stick. I tried the DULCE DE LECHE popwich, drizzled with dark chocolate and topped with almonds. I expected more of a cake consistency and not so much of a hard cookie, but it still tasted good 4/5 POPBAR: I, once again, got the hazelnut gelato half dipped in milk chocolate with crushed hazelnut toppings. It tastes so similar to a ferrero rocher and I love it! I've also their green tea kit kat and that is amazing! 5/5 This place is definitely a place to check out! read more

I ran by Popbar with my mother-in-law over the weekend and what a great little specialty treat stop! We marveled at the 3 step process that is Popbar: 1) Choose your pop from a bunch of varying gelato or sorbet flavors 2) Choose if you want a whole dip, a half dip or no dip at all from a bunch of different delicious flavors like white chocolate or dark chocolate 3) Choose a topping to stick to your dip I had a pineapple sorbet bar dipped (half) in dark chocolate with no topping. It was perfect and I told myself it was a healthy choice since everyone knows that dark chocolate is chock full of anti-oxidants and the sorbet was basically fruit. In the warmth of our Sunday sunshine it was a cool treat and I will be back to try new flavors! read more
