    Hours that aren't accurate

So we had a birthday girl who was so looking forward to a birthday ice cream taco all day. We arrive at 11:15p and contrary to the Salt and Straw website, Yelp and Google that say that their hours were until midnight -- they were cleaning up and doors closed. It was a super disappointing moment to a 9th birthday celebration. It would be great to update hours so people can plan accordingly and avoid the bummer.

This ice cream shop is located in downtown disney. The lines may be super long at times but it moves quick. They let you try out different flavors before ordering. I ordered the strawberry and coconut water sherbet. It was perfectly sweet and refreshing. I love how they give big scoops as well. Great spot for dessert!

I knocked off 1 star because it's Downtown Disney and parking can kind of be nuts, depending on when you go (do not forget to get your ticket validated inside Salt & Straw!) my Tacolate was crumbled, and because this location does not have a 4-scoop flight... but besides all that, this place hits. You can sample all. the. weird and wonderful. flavors. so you have 0 buyer's remorse. I took my toddler son here to try ice cream for the first time ever, and safe to say, he was in heaven. There are seasonal flavors and classic flavors, and they are all good- even the double fold vanilla, which is not boring at all. I tried the hazelnut cookies and cream and wild-foraged berry slab pie and I smashed them both. The service is fast and organized, and the ambiance is a little squished (but strollers do fit!), but they are undergoing construction right now, so maybe it will get better? It did not feel chaotic, though!

I can't stress how much I love this place without sounding insane. Every time I'm at Disney I have to stop by & check out the new monthly flavors - was lucky to come during their summer berry series! The birthday cakes + blackberries flavor is sooo good. The tartness of the blackberry really cuts through the sweetness of the vanilla & cookie. Everything is also so creamy and rich. Salt & Straw is the best, they always keep things interesting with their rotating flavors, and it's great that they have a standard set menu as well :)

I took my Disney buddy with me and have her try this ice cream place. I've had Salt and Straw several times now even in Portland, OR and even though it's on the pricey side, I do love the play on flavors. What's great about this place is you can sample any flavor and they use an actual spoon. Plus, they give you a good amount on the sample. My friend was impressed and we got one scoop each on a waffle cone. The cashier also validated our Downtown Disney parking ticket since it was at least $20 purchase. I do agree with the other comments that it does melt a little faster which I didn't remember that from before. Anyway, will still come back when we are back at the parks or Downtown Disney!

Not my first time at Salt & Straw, but my first time at this location. I have walked past Salt & Straw more times than I can count, and finally decided to stop in for an ice cream. While many of the flavors sounded delish, I got a chocolate brownie scoop, and my husband got a salted caramel scoop. Both were good despite being a little melty. The biggest reason for my 3 star review was for the service. OMG is the service at this location of Salt & Straw lackluster though. No hi. No hello. Just what flavor do you want... No, it was not busy when we went in. Maybe about 2 people ahead of us in line around 3pm. There are better ice cream selections within the Disneyland resort. Go to one of them instead. Clarabelle's is the yummiest!

Seasonal flavors always changing! We dropped by after dinner from the brewery and our Disney date. Perfect end to our night. Magic key holders aka Disney season pass holders get a waffle cone for free! Decided to get 2 scoops in a waffle cone. Couldn't resist the fresh waffle aroma! Went with a seasonal and a classic. Peanut butter and jelly and the sea salt ribbon caramel. Definitely could have done a spilt scoop. Great treat to end the night. One day I'll get their cake! The carrot ice cream cake looks amazing!

Located in the Downtown Disney District and a wonderful place for dessert when walking in the area. Lots of UNIQUE FLAVORS and all of them are pretty delicious - I always enjoy a salted caramel ice cream and this one was very enjoyable. You can try SAMPLES of the ice cream flavors before ordering, which is helpful. No indoor seating provided by the restaurant BUT seating can be found across the way nearby. Quick service. Yummy waffle cones. Just a little bit on the pricey side but worth it.

This was my second time at salton straw. Bottom line, it's a fancy ice cream place. This one is located in downtown Disney. The sun was blazing, and it was hot. I went with a strawberry survey that was light and delicious. Super refreshing on a hot day. Last time I did go more exotic, with my flavor choices. And sampling, but because it was so hot, I stuck to basic. Pro tip: since this is a busy location, order online. True score: 3.75

They are located in downtown Disney and are hard to miss because of the long lines they tend to have. Usually a place that has a long line means it is worth it in this place is not the exception. The ambience is very family friendly and there are no sitting areas inside. This is a very unique ice cream shop with a wide variety of flavours that are very uncommon. They have their classic flavours that they don't change and then they have their seasonal flavours that are changed every month. If you are unsure of what flavour you want to get, you can ask for samples and they have a spot to dispose spoons afterwards. I love their waffle cones which are always fresh. After a long day at Disney, I tend to crave one of these ice creams. They are on the more expensive side but are worth it. For those who are fan of the brand they also have a merge booth at the end of the line before you order. And if you're somebody that just wants to get a pint or multiple pints, they have a fridge by the registers and you don't have to do the long line.

Duuuuuude!!! Mobile order! After a long day at Disney my kids wanted ice cream, but the line was so long, maybe 45 mins of a wait, and I chose to mobile order and see if it would make a difference. IT DID! After placing a mobile order, I received a text maybe 5 to 7 mins later that my order was ready. Got two chocolate ice creams for my kids in less than 10! thanks to mobile order. Man, what a great invention!

This was my first visit to this salt and straw location here in downtown Disney. I remember seeing that they had the tacolate which is the interpretation of Choco taco. So I had to stop in and sell that line wasn't too long so I decided to stop in. I also tried a couple of the seasonal flavors and everything is so delicious in a unique here. Some of the flavors are a little too unique, but it's also creative of what they have done The queue does rub around inside, but that's just how in Disney is. All the team members are here and the line goes by fairly quick, which is great. They'll let you try some of the samples, which is great so you know for sure what you want And then the very end is where you make your purchase. This is the place to go for unique and delicious tasting ice cream treats Overall, they have a lot of interesting and creative flavors. It's worth it trying and you might find a new favorite of yours. Everything is amazing and darn those waffle bowls - they smell so good.

Delicious and just the perfect treat when it's sunny in downtown. I got one scoop of their Chocolate Goey brownie with a waffle cone. Waffle cone was stale, not fresh. You can tell it's been sitting. I like it fresh, crisp and crunchy.

Ask the Community - Salt & Straw

Are there any sugar free options or no sugar added options? TIA.

    Unfortunately no.

Is this in the Disneyland park?

This is outside the parks located at downtown Disney.

    Dairy free options?

Hi Kylee! Yes, we do have several vegan and dairy free flavors! Check out saltandstraw.com to find our current flavors. All vegan flavors are labeled with a (v).

Is pots of gold and rainbows flavor available all the time?

Do they sell ice cream cakes?

    no, they do not

Does this location always have an oat milk ice cream option?

Nope. It's annoying that they advertise as having vegan options but it's really hit or miss.

Please find a way to have curbside pickup at the parking lot next to Disneyland Hotel?

    that's never going to happen

Is the $10 flat rate parking fee even with validation?

They don't validate anymore as far as I know. It's a flat $10 fee that gets your car admission to park & you into downtown Disney area and parts of California adventure.

Can you go without Disney pass?

    Yes you can.

Are the cones vegan as well?

Yes, the standard sugar cone. Not the waffle cones

Do they validate parking for Downtown Disney visitors only?

Yes they validate parking if it's over a $20 purchase.

Is there a Disney Annual Passholder discount? Yup. Thanks Lynda. I just asked too. Got 10% off but…

They've now changed it to a $1 off pints and no 10% discount

The store front is easy to find as they have a large visible sign showing "CHURROS" near the street. There's a $1 charge on credit cards which also seems a bit like charging the customer on any business transaction. The location is a decent size so it could definitely fit groups and such. Unfortunately my visit did not really go well, as after ordering and receiving a buzzer to let us know when the order is complete, we waited for over 10 minutes to have other customers place orders after us and receive their orders before our buzzer went off. Eventually, one of the associates noticed we had been waiting for a while and came to us to ask if we had placed an order already. For some reason, the buzzer was not programmed to our order, and I ended up asking the cashier for my receipt to confirm that my order was placed. This was frustrating as we had originally entered the store as the only guests and 3 other parties had entered the store after us and received their orders before us. Fortunately, the associates closest to us near the pick up order section noticed that we had been waiting for an extended period of time and came out to ask what we had ordered to help us make our missing order. I have no idea how our order was missed but it was not a great experience to wait in a store with no AC (only the front doors propped open for ventilation) and there was no real apology for the mishap. However, we're very appreciative of some of the staff members noticing that we had been patiently waiting for our order.

The dulce de leche cake was so well soaked, and the chocolate shell was a nice texture contrast. However, the cake was a little too sweet. We also tried the mini chocolate pancakes with strawberries and bananas. This was a classic, and the fruit helped cut the sweetness of the pancakes. Service: The service was really nice, and they explained the various components of dishes which was helpful before ordering. Ambiance: This place is so well-lit and cute! However, the surrounding area is slightly unsafe with some smoke and alcohol shops around. Just a heads up, however everyone does their own thing! The shop's bathroom's handle was loose, and we were a little confused on if someone was using it or not, so we used the bathroom at the nearby Dollar Tree. If you are a chocolate or dubai chocolate lover, definitely give this place a try! You can order a few items and share with friends, as they are generous with their quantity!
