She RAVED about it a few weeks ago and loved it so much she did a Google review on it! I have to say she was "DEAD ON" with her review! ( Go look at Google Reviews if you want to read it). As I am a native New Orleanian it's hard to impress me when it comes to food in general. I am extremely particular about most food I eat, and chicken wings are no exception. Too many people think that when you're from New Orleans everything you eat has to be loaded with cayenne pepper or salt. (They're completely wrong by the way, but that's a story for another day)... Anyway, even with Lauren's recommendation of the place I wasn't expecting a whole lot. At best I thought that they might have some flavorful chicken; I was also hoping that it wouldn't be dry. In short, this place blew me away! They have taken great care to create sauces that tease and delight your pallet, from slightly sweet blends, to burn the lips off your body (if you like that sort of thing), ! Seriously, there is something for EVERYONE here! I had a couple of different types of wings. I love sauces, but I'm a big fan of dry rubs as well. The lemon pepper here is better than any. I've tasted anywhere! I also had the Poppin Cherry wings, which if I'm gonna be honest, I thought it might've been way too sweet for my pallet, but surprise! They would just right, sweet with a nice kick at the end! I also had the Jammin jerk which reminded me of the Caribbean. The Peach knockout wings fooled me, because although they started off tasting somewhat sweet, but as soon as you got a good bite the heat hit you back of your throat! All in all, I think I tried six different sauces and one dry rub. None of them disappointed as evidenced by the pictures below. In addition, they have to be some of the sweetest people above that since I've been here in North Carolina. The host is wonderful, and she even gave us some advice on other places to try while we're here. I also got a chance to meet the chef, and it's clear that he loves what he does as evidenced by the way his food tastes and the way he talks about it. I love me some people that love what they do, and this young man does! As we speak, I'm on my way back to Hustle to get hustled again! Don't miss out on the spot, especially for you locals! The chicken wings were outstanding--easily some of the best wings we had during our trip. The pork rinds were another surprise favorite and are perfect for sharing while enjoying a drink. CJ's has that laid-back, small-town mountain vibe that's easy to appreciate. If you're passing through Bryson City, it's a great place to stop, relax, and grab some food and drinks. My only recommendation is to call ahead if you're planning your evening around karaoke or live music, just to make sure the schedule is accurate.
