Last night was our group's second gathering at the Valley Tavern and was our choice for our Christmas party. We were not disappointed! We ordered appetizers before our meals and they were a hit! We enjoyed the cheese curds, potato skins, and several types of wings. They were awesome! (Do yourself a favor and try the bourbon wings!). I had the fish and chips and my bride enjoyed the Reuben with a side of broccoli. Everything was delicious and the portions were so large that many in the group needed to go boxes. McKayla took care of our group of 11 and provided superb service! Our drinks were never empty, our food came fast - even on a busy Saturday night, and she made sure we had everything we needed. Fish and chips were a violation of the Geneva Convention. When i ordered them she asked if i wanted chips or fries. Oh boy... that was the first red flag. Then i asked what the most popular items on menu were... she said its all the same. Oh boy. ... then the print on the menu looked like a third grader did it. Pretty easy to find parking, was pretty confused on how to enter the restaurant part but it's a door in the back. The waitress was quick, helpful, and friendly and the food was out pretty fast (it wasn't super busy as we went at 4pm ish on a week day) but I was pleasantly surprised to find the food was pretty tasty. We got cheese bites, and a cheeseburger, tots, grilled cheese and soup, and chicken strips. The grilled cheese and chili was on special for only $5 which was great value. The chili was more like a tortilla soup but good and burger was also pretty tasty. Ambience was like a normal sports bar vibe. TVs were everywhere and huge. Bathroom was also clean. Wow! If we listened to the last couple of reviews we would not have eaten dinner here! We loved the fun football vibes on a late Saturday afternoon. We sat at the bar and had the most wonderful service from our bartender Stephanie. We were not super hungry so I went with the Chicken Cranberry Walnut Salad and hubby had the Hot Honey Chicken Wings. Super large portions and the food tasted really good! That salad was better than most high end restaurants!! We definitely enjoyed our cocktails, food and service by Stephanie! We will return as it is close to our AirBnb! read more

A great pub with plenty of in your face tv options at the bar and beyond... A very clean 100% certificate. This place is right in line of the looks of a mountain ski lodge with all the tables bar top and walls in different woods. They have had live music in the past but think it's on hold now because of this death plague. They have separated tables but still plenty of seating at main bar, the back smaller bar and a separate room with just dining tables. Now for the wings.. Excellente primo!! Barest crunch outside and perfectly cooked inside. Juicy and just enough spice... We will be back for lunch tomorrow.. Perfect pub food , different sides not seen elsewhere. I think that is the key. Be what people like but just slightly different from the rest. Restaurant is through the main lobby of lodge so it's really a nice place to sit by the fire if you have to wait for a table. read more

Just in for drinks. It shouldn't be hard to order and get drinks. Four of us came into a relatively full bar (at the bar seats, not adjacent tables), two of us stood at the bar for a while to get a drink order in, then were directed by another server to sit a table to place a drink order (?) (wives were sitting outside). We did that odd game, finally got our drinks, then went outside and decided one round was enough here. Worst restaurant experience in a long time. They told us to seat ourselves in a large back room, which we were okay with. The server didn't arrive for 10 minutes. One of the employee's had two kids in the room where we were sat. They were being very loud and running around hitting each other with balloons that were scattered everywhere. When the server, Jose, arrived he apologized and said they were trying to figure who got to take care of us. He forgot two of of the six drinks, finally bringing them after his 3rd trip back, 15 minutes later. Jose was very lackadaisical and unprofessional. The food was very overpriced and the burgers tasted like plain, low quality meat; no seasoning whatsoever. Finally, when we were ready to get the check and our order of to-go wings, the server was nowhere to be found. We had another server ask him to bring us the check and 15 minutes later he showed up. There is a dearth of sports bars in Maggie and Waynesville, but this is a good one! NFL Ticket, good service, large screens, good visibility, decent food for both apps and lunches, and good menu of draft beer. If you're looking for a game in Haywood County, check them out! Friendly! Great wings cooked exactly as we ordered. Great ranch and blue cheese dressings; and large servings of each. Fresh big salads too. The only thing Id add to give it 5stars is some heat and better ambience to the backrooms. We didnt freeze but it was a little chilly. They could have a fire going in that beautiful fireplace and it would have been perfect. Also, either have the volume on the tv for sports or music and lower the lighting; it was just a little too stark back there. read more

This is a new great sports bar. Great "Bar" food including sandwiches and wings. The chicken or cheese steak are great. They have a build a burger that you can make what you can imagine. Big bear selection and great mixed drinks. The prices are reasonable. read more

Terrible service... At first. I stayed at hotel next door and was drinking a beer when I went into bar. She told me I couldn't bring beer in... No problem, I drank the last swallow and put beer can on bar. Apparently, that was wrong.... I'm not sure what I was supposed to do, but she refused to serve us after that. Not only wouldn't she serve us, she told the other waitress not to also. When I went up to bar to try and resolve this, she very rudely mumbled something as she walked by and wouldn't repeat it when I told her I didn't hear her due to the karaoke in the background. We were just getting ready to leave when a young man came from the back, was super nice and took our order and got our food right away. In this day and age, and with the way businesses have been hit hard, I personally wouldn't have this person or the other waitress working in my establishment. This had nothing to do with COVID, this was just a plain rude bartender/waitress and I'm not sure if she was owner, manager or just the bartender, but she wouldn't be working in my bar!!! read more

Driven past this place for the past 4+ years and never thought of going in. Well, last night was it. It's part of a small hotel with attached cabins, so it's not really noticeable. They have a sports bar and a restaurant inside. They also have a music venue that I understand is going to start up again soon. I went to the sports bar. There was a wide variety of beers, both national and local. The place appeared amazingly clean for a sports bar. Their sanitation rating was 100% which they apparently earned. Had some fried mushrooms followed by a Philly Cheesesteak. Mushrooms were good, with a horseradish sauce. The cheesesteak could use a different kind of cheese. However, it was tasty along with some seasoned fries. They have a number of other items on their menu that I would like to try on subsequent visits. This is now my local sports bar, as the other two I frequented pre-covid are gross by these standards. read more
