Delicious lunch in downtown Canton! After waterfall chasing and driving through the mountains we were hungry. This place will definitely fill you up. Hubby got a Philly cheese steak sandwich and I opted for a Chicken salad sandwich with pimiento cheese. It was packed to the brim. I could barely finish it. So I asty and fresh. Holy cow! What a find! Road our Harley up 215 from our cabin in Cashiers and passed JRO's, parked and wandered on in. We both had the steak and cheese sandwich. Man o man! Fantastic. Real steak, not that fake or overly processed garbage. Real frickin steak. Served on a fresh warm chewy sub roll. We also had a side of tater tots and onion rings, crispy and tasty. JRO's is excellent. Located right next to public parking makes it easy to get in and out. The restaurant's decor is well thought out. There are plenty of tables, and the place is spotless. Everyone working is really nice and attentive. We ordered ribeye burgers, soup & sale, fries, and onion rings. The chicken salad sandwich was average, but the cactus soup was exceptional. The burgers are the star though. They are bursting with flavor, well seasoned, and the chargrill is perfect. The fries and onion rings were both very good. We are in town for thanksgiving, taking the pups hiking and staying safe from COVID-19. JRO's is a 10 minute walk from where we are staying, so we called in an order. My husband had the blue cheese burger with local beef and raved about it. From his first bite he said "we are going back again!" I don't eat beef but there are plenty of other options. I had a black bean burger and we split a Greek salad and small onion rings. I was so impressed. You never know what to expect when you order a salad from places that specialize in burgers or sandwiches. Is it going to be the bare bones plate of iceberg lettuce?? No, this was a nice lettuce blend along with typical toppings and loaded with an extremely generous amount of feta cheese. I eat healthy but decided to give the onion rings a try. I think they may be the best rings I've had. SO GOOD!! They come with a sweet, spicy dipping sauce. I forgot to order a topping for my black bean burger so used the ring sauce for it. Yummy!!! Oh and all of that only cost $22. There was still 1/3 of the salad leftover for today. HOLY SMOKES! Let's just start with the fact that I very seldomly ever crave a burger. When we were looking for a place to grab lunch this placed popped up and I know how much my babe loves a good burger so on we went. I got a ribeye burger with mushrooms and Swiss on a pretzel bun. J got a ribeye with a fried egg and cheese on pretzel. We shared a large fry. We both thought that our burgers were a little more well done than we would have preferred but good golly miss Molly were they good. It's rare that I can finish my whole meal and I did have to bring half home, but damn was it good. And my leftovers didnt make it very long. The man working the counter steered us in the right direction when we asked for his recommendations. Next time I will make J order the Philly cheese so I can try that cause it looked darn good. Then I can get another ribeye burger lol We sat at the counter so we could people watch. Despite being so close to the paper mill we were pleasantly surprised that there was no stank in the area. Next time we might even brave the outdoors. It's inviting to see businesses doing well in Canton. J always make a fuss about how stinky it is because of the mill. Canton is a little town and it's nice to have quality spots to visit. Because of covid and a very hyperactive 2 year old, all of our restaurant food is take out now. We ordered a burger, cuban sandwich and 3 little pizzas. The price point was awesome, didn't give me a heart attack and when I went to pick up, it was a cute, family friendly little spot. Nicely decorated, up to date and probably around 10-15 tables. Possibly more can fit after covid. Let's say, air fryers are a good thing when you get take out. Those sad mushy fries were brought back to life after a few minutes in the fryer. Not their fault, just the consequences of sitting in a box, steaming, on the drive home. Another option for an easy night out when I don't want to cook. And they have Cheerwine bottled! read more

JRO's is a nice, consistent sandwich shop in downtown Canton. I've been a customer since they opened. I believe the place is owned by the same folks who own Smoky Mountain Sub Shop in Waynesville. Their sandwiches, burgers, and pizza are quite good -- my favorites are the New Cuban and the meatball sub. The staff is always friendly and even when there's a line at the counter, it goes quickly. The menu is extensive with something for everybody. Inside, the place is always very, very clean. Just pick up a menu when you come in and when you're ready, order at the counter, and they will call you when your food is ready. Oh, the onion rings and the sauce they're served with are just terrific. Nice spot to go for a quick lunch. Highly recommend. read more

Solid burgers in a calm downtown setting. The food was cooked well and was tasty. My wife and I both had burgers and we enjoyed them.
