LISTEN! My family has eaten at a MANY of Popeyes, and this Popeyes was by far the freshest we've ever had without even asking. The manager who took my order the night of 3/10/24, was personable and kind enough to explain options for purchase within my budget. I really appreciate the level of patience she provided to me in the drive thru. Do not order Popeyes for delivery via their app. If you don't receive your order or are missing all of your sides for every meal, they keep your money. They make it virtually impossible to reach someone who can assist. Instead, they issue you a $10 credit via an automated system, to the account and try to call it good, but keep your hard earned $30 cash. His name was Scott, he was very kind and I later found I he's a manager.and his name is Scott He is definitely manager material as he assisted me and gave me a good deal for what I wanted. This review is from ordering through the Door Dash application. The food arrived hot. The chicken was as ordered. Where things went wrong was with the sides. Missing from my order was all three sides that came with the family meal. That included a large mashed potato, large coleslaw and large Mac & cheese. I find it so disappointing when you can't serve your family a meal because there are no sides. Whether you are dine in, drive up or delivery, you should still receive the same service. All orders should be double checked and made complete before leaving the kitchen. If I am paying my hard earned money on your restaurant, I expect to receive good food and a complete order in return. read more

My wife and I went there for a quick sandwich, the person who took the order and " greeted" us at the window for payment has no place working in this industry. The kindest thing I can say is that he was rude and obviously did not want to be there. We ordered two chicken sandwiches and waited 15 minutes to get them, we were in a real hurry now because they took so long. I also ordered a lemonade and we had to knock on the window to get a straw to drink it, Al's asked for napkins and he just walked away. Until now I've never heard of a business that refused to honor their own menu board. I was lured inside by the promotion on their outdoor electronic sign. The clerk said that promo had ended which I thought was odd since it still running on their sign. Instead I ordered the offer that was displaying on their menu board. I went to Popeye's within two weeks of it's grand opening. I've been to the other location in Cedar Rapids, but this one is close to home and work, so lunch was in order. It was not very crowded at about 12:30pm on a weekday, so the line was short. The girl at the register seemed to be very nice and welcoming. I received my order - 2 piece white meat, spicy combo - fairly quickly, waiting less than 2 or 3 minutes. Unfortunately, the diet soda option was 'out of order' and the iced tea brewer only had sweet tea. So I was a little bit dismayed over that. Took a seat, and was a bit taken aback by the size of the breast that I received in the meal. It was rather on the small side. So small that I thought at first it may have been thigh. The chicken was ok, but really nothing great. And as stated elsewhere the prices are very high for fast food. Comparing the Popeye's chicken to that found at Pizza Ranch, Pizza Ranch is a Cadillac while Popeye's is a Buick. Would probably go back, but just for a change of pace. read more

Created a mobile order which was supposed to be ready at 11am, arrived at drive thru at that time and was rudely told they're "still working on it" and that I had to come into the restaurant to pick it up. That was not on the website nor communicated during the ordering process. I think filming for Fast Food Employees Gone Wild 6 was going on when a buddy of mine and me arrived at Popeyes a little over an hour before they closed tonight. We got inside the building and there was already another lady in front of us looking at the menu. As we approached the front counter, the employee in charge of the register looked visibly upset, kinda just shaking her head while saying " this ain't happenin!!!" The other customer went up to order and said she wanted some combo or meal... and that she wanted to make sure the chicken was crispy. The employee backed away from the register, started foaming at the mouth and told the customer that only KFC does " crispy chicken ". It took the two 5-10 minutes just to go over this and the employee was getting more and more upset. Finally they finish whatever craziness they had to, and I get up there and order a Cajun Wing combo. As soon as I say what I want, the employee very loudly sighs and starts violently shaking. She turned around and started yelling at the kitchen to " cook enough damn chicken to last until close " My buddy gets up there and orders a 4pc meal without incident. As we are standing there waiting though, the lady who was at the register is obviously gimp or hobbled as she was limping around on one leg super fast like some kind of maimed energizer bunny or something. She starts yelling at some of the other workers there (very loudly) that as soon as we leave that she is " locking the damn door and not lettin no one else in ". At this time, it's probably 10-15 after 9 and they had just under an hour to go. She then keeps going on complaining to everyone how she doesn't want to be there, that it was time to go home, and that she doesn't want anymore customers... Speaking of which. A couple of cars ended up coming up to the drive through. Now, a reasonable person may ask... hey, you were inside the building waiting for an order, how do you know that people were in the drive thru?? Well, funny you should ask! The employee who is not happy to be there speed-limped her way back to the front of the kitchen, tore off the headset she was wearing and threw it against the wall cursing about more customers at the drive thru. Some other employee took their order as the other one went back behind the order cart // wall thing they have at Popeyes where they put all the chicken and starts putting the orders together. She boxes up multiple things, throws them on the shelf and does nothing with them. They sit there as she hops around for a good 5 minutes before she turns around and yells at somebody to " get the hell up here and serve these people them food ". Another lady finally walks up to the shelf but on the customer / front counter side and is looking really confused at the boxes. She has no idea what the other lady wants her to do... so she asked. Wrong choice... " see them damn boxes there, them two? Put em in a damn bag and give em to that lady !!!" . The other employee still looks really confused but does what she is told and the first customer is out the door. Two other girls walked into the restaurant in casual clothing but they must have worked there. Now, a reasonable person may ask, if they are wearing normal clothes, how did you know they worked there? Well, funny you should ask! The really annoyed employee saw them come in and yelled at them from across the kitchen " oh hell no, you damn well better not be coming into this kitchen unless you be workin!!!" I don't know if she was just kidding or what, but the new girls didn't care and walked in through the kitchen and started going to town on some chicken. It was like Popeyes opened the gate at the all you can eat Buffet and I stood there wondering how much that cost -- because I ordered 6 wings about 20 minutes ago and was still standing there. Shorty thereafter me and my buddy got our orders and thank goodness. We wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. It was literally The worst customer service / restaurant experience I have ever had. Ever. And talk about bizarre. P.S. If you wanted this to be about the food... on a scale of KFC to Best Chicken Ever, Popeyes was standing firm at " sewer waste ". It was not good, my $7 meal wasn't filling or good in any way. On E Ave and Edgewood Rd SW. Fast service mid afternoon. Pleasant drive thru attendant. Used coupon 8.99 for 2 sides,2 biscuits and 5 tenders or mixed. They will not sub for all dark meat. They just don't do it. Ordered mild mixed. Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans. Beans tasted okay but not as pictured on website. Not much bacon and looked over cooked. Chicken okay, just not a fan of so much breading or spices. Mild has no spice which is good but has more breading than meat usually. You probably need to be a fan of Popeyes as a kid to like the food. Just wanted to give it a try. Like PizzaRanch chicken the best of all CR fast food chicken. Their biscuits are better, too. PR has flakey, buttery biscuits and the Pop are like compressed and dry. Just different recipes. read more

New Popeye's just opened last week so I figured I'd give it a shot. For new employees they were very prompt, polite and accurate with my order so kudos to them. Now the food as I expected from eating at other Popeyes was mediocre. I got the chicken strip basket and it has small pieces of chicken with lots of breading, and a biscuit that is essentially a puck. The fries had good flavor and were probably the best part of the meal. Now for the worst part, the basic meal costs around $9 almost twice what KFC charges for the same meal (and they give ya a cookie). I think the cheapest meal deal was $7 IIRC. A 16 piece family meal was $41...ouch. Unless they get with the program on their prices I believe you can find Chicken just about every where else for a better price. read more

The fish was good, BUT - the seasoning on the chicken was uneven (most bites mild, one bite unbelievably spicy), the sides were gross (mushy rice with stringy unidentifiable animal pieces and the mashed potatoes/gravy just left a weird canned greasy taste). We went through drive thru and they took forever to understand our order (it wasn't special), then had us pull over and wait for 10 mins for our food. We were undercharged by ~$1, which I guess I'm not complaining about, and got no receipt to make sense of it. Quality and service are not their priority. read more

The crew I work with and I made the mistake of eating here again today August 29th 2016 at 1140 we all ordered the same number 7. The 5 piece chicken tender combo for $11.65 there were probably 14 people in the restaurant including us 5 Ireceived my meal about 5 minutes after I ordered it then two of guys after about 15 minutes 30 minutes went by and the other 2 still didn't have theirs the manager claimed they can only fry 1 thing at a time and it takes 15 minutes to fry. So 30 minutes no food no big deal?
