I've been coming to this Texas Roadhouse since I was a child and never had a bad experience. We've even made the 60 mile trip from Burlington JUST to eat here! Everyone raves about the rolls and I'll admit, they are the star of the show. I've had every burger on the menu and they are always cooked to perfection. They don't skimp on the fixins' either so you better have a big mouth! Our waiter was great too. We told him we were in town celebrating our anniversary and trying to do something fun with our 11 month old daughter, so he recommended some stuff we could do in the area. We stopped in for dinner 3/24/25 aeound 4 pm. Our streaks were cold. Sweet potato smaller then normal and stringy. I ordered shrimp it was cold sent it back was returned cold. We eat there often and this is the 3rd time tge meal wasnt up their usual stabdards. Noon on a Saturday. Five minute wait (if that) for a party of 2. Server was pleasant, fast, attentive. Restaurant was clean. Bathrooms were clean. Menus were greasy, but they're left at the table. It was a busy Sunday evening after the women's basketball game, but they were able to seat the three of us quickly. It was apparent that they were working hard and efficient. Our waitress was quick to take our drink orders and the followed up at an appropriate time to get our orders. Timing again was quick and appropriate for getting our food. The grilled salmon was excellent. The chicken salad and sirloin steak were also well prepared and good. The environment is a little noisy but our group was still able to talk. And the fresh rolls with cinnamon butter they serve you as you are seated ALWAYS hit the spot. You can't go to a chain steakhouse like this and not overindulge with a crispy, deep fried onion. The flakey breading is perfection here. I typically over do it on the bread and onion... so I opt for a salad-- leaving with half of it to take home because it is TEXAS sized. The kids meal menu is robust-- from steak to chicken fingers to cheese burgers, hot dogs, mac n cheese and more! Ranging from $4-$9 depending on what you order. (The mac n cheese is right out of the Kraft box. No frills and just how kiddos like it.) My better half enjoys the ribeye and steak fries. The beer is cold. The steins are big. The meal was great as alway, however the wonderful experience in the building was destroyed when we walked out to find a vehicle illegally parking us in! We asked a gentleman at the desk for help. He took a picture of the car with the license plate. We waited 20 minutes and nobody came out. We called to speak to the manager. She doesn't have a procedure in place to handle an illegally parked vehicle. Hmmm? I wonder if the local Fire Inspector is aware of that? It took over a half hour for the driver to return to the car. Although the design of the restaurant with a parking lot far too small is what is truly at fault, the manager on duty needs to be able to handle problems on the property. Steak potatoes looked like they came from the bottom of my shoes and the Ceasars salad was end pieces of the romaine! No leaves! That's not a side, that's compost material! And I asked for the steak Medium. It was raw. Not Medium rare, not rare, but, thrown in the microwave to get dead brown carcass but, so raw that the white fat was still on the damn cow! This restaurant has a lot of positives to it. I don't want to call them negatives, but there's some intangibles that detract from the overall experience at this restaurant. The meals are a pretty good value compared with similar chains. The basic 6 oz. sirloin with a pair of sides runs about $11. Less if you make it for "early dine". I feel the restaurant is a little too scripted at times, not allowing servers to perform customized service. Each visit you get the "made from scratch sides" spiel, as well as a description on what exactly a medium well steak is. That insults my intelligence, though I'm sure there's plenty of uneducated folks out there who would complain that their rare steak was "too red". On a recent visit with family, the salad printer malfunctioned and didn't print our tickets. Thus, it took a lengthy amount of time for the salads to arrive. Our server apologized and told us that a manager would be stopping by to discuss the situation with us. While I thought it was a nice gesture, it wasn't something that we requested. The manager never did show, instead, we got the 10% first responder discount. I thought the restaurant was worse off saying someone would stop by and then not following up. I'm sure this has been covered in other reviews, but this is not where I would go for a first date or a romantic night out. This location is usually pretty busy but the wait is never too long. I have had a good experience almost every time I've gone here with one exception. I usually get the ranger meal with no problems, but once a waitress wouldn't allow me to because of the age restriction. I think everyone should be on the same page of who is and is not allowed to order the ranger/kid meals and it shouldn't depend on what the waitress may be feeling that day..
