I ordered a nine piece spicy meal. One piece was mildly spicy. I think it was a mixture of all the old chicken getting ready to be tossed in the trash. It was old, dried out, almost not chewable, greasy and disgusting. It tasted as if it had been sitting around a long time, then refried. It was heavy and greasy, not even warm. If i could give them negative stars I would! I have NEVER been there and they weren't out of something we wanted. Several times they were out of chicken!!! How is a chicken restaurant out of chicken? We have been trying to try this restaurant since it opened- it is always busy! So this afternoon we tried again and were told by the manager it would be 10 minutes before our order would be ready. We replied that we were fine with that since we had been trying to eat here for a while and it was a first time for us. I was really excited about a Popeye's Fried Chicken Restaurant returning to our area. However, the location on Hwy. 278 in Covington, GA. has to be the worst restaurant in the state. On Friday, February 28. 2020 I ordered my food and was highly disappointed. I called to complain and the manager offered to replace my meal. I returned on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 6:30pm the male manager was in the parking lot talking to someone for about 15 min. while the line was wrapped around the building with waiting customers. He finally decided to return to work. When I finally arrived to the window after about 20 minutes the employee told me that they were out of biscuits and provided other options. Even the free replacement meal was again poor in quality, the red beans and rice was cold. The chicken was over fried (hard/dry), had poor presentation, tasteless, awful customer service, and lacks strong management. I have given this restaurant several opportunities to get it right, only to be disappointed on each visit. Save your money and eat at home!! read more

I have been a fan of Popeye's Chicken for well over 20yrs, the one in Covington Ga. has changed my mind. The is a new store that opened just several months ago. The customer service was terrible but, I thought, it's a new store so give it some time and it will get better. A few months ago, I was in this Popeye's and after waiting 30 mins, I asked to speak with a manager. I complained about the wait and the pure customer service, I asked, for the name and number of the store manager, she walked me over to one of the doors and pointed to a number on the door. I the next day, I called Popeye's corporate office and made an official complaint. I was told that I would be called back. That never happened. That time I was complaining again about the wait and the fact that while paying customers waited, I watched employees getting off work, I think!!! fill up a box of chicken and walk out the door and leave. A few weeks ago on a Sunday, I went thru the drive thru and because it was only 2 cars ahead of me, it wouldn't take long, well it did. I placed my order and once I got to the window where you pickup your order, that's when I learned, 3 of the items I ordered, they were out of. I attempted to replace the order with something else and the were out of those items too. Today again, the same terrible customer service. I will not return to this store ever again. This store needs to go out of business (close). The people of Covington Ga need to stop accepting this BAD, BAD customer service. read more
