Service was terrible! I tried to order the $6.99 big box multiple times. The person at the register kept telling me it was $21. I pointed at the sign indicating the price and repeated my order multiple times. Finally I told the person they needed to get the manager.the manager explained to me that the person was special needs. I suggested they be supervised if they're going to run the register. This location is inside a gas station. Seating is virtually non-existent. I was there to buy gas ... and curious about all the raves about their new chicken sandwich. The spicy sandwich was just okay - not very spicy. Chicken, a small amount of sauce, two pickle slice on a plain white bread bun. It was flavorful. Ordered through drive through. At window, was asked to pull ahead and wait after paying even though no other vehicles were coming through the drive through. When they finally did come out with our order, we left to drive home. When we got home, we found that they gave us a wrong order and much was supposed today be delivery. We paid more than $20 for somebody's $13 delivery order. Pretty sad that as slow as they were they couldn't get us the correct order. The tenders that were included in the order were skinny with hardly any meat, mostly batter. For supposedly being the best fast food fried chicken, that was certainly not our experience. Check your stuff. Nothing looked off when I checked it but when my daughter opened her sandwich the bag was half ripped and half eaten. Who is running this place? This HAS to be a joke! This location is horrible! The eating area is filthy and the employees are so rude, you'd swear they were told by their manager to turn away business. The first time I visited, I counted seven people behind the counter and not one of them greeted me. My order was small, but still took 10 minutes to receive. The chicken was either over-cooked or had been under a heat lamp way too long. Was it just sitting there during my entire wait time? My second attempted visit, I called ahead and told Popeye's I would be picking up two of their 16-piece family packs in 30-35 minutes. I was trying to be courteous so that they weren't blind-sided with a customer wanting 32 pieces of chicken. (Mind you, I did the same exact thing with the Hyde Park location a month prior, and my order was ready within 15 minutes.) The girl who answered the phone actually said to me... no joke... "We need at least an hour and a half for that kind of order because we keep running out of chicken." Let that sink in. Running OUT of CHICKEN. This is a fast food CHICKEN place. One. And. A. Half. Hours. What the cluck. My friend loves Popeye's and this is the only location nearby to our work, so I was willing to risk it for him after my first less-than-ideal experience; until that phone call. We have enjoyed Popeyes many times in the past, but this particular Mason location near Kings Island went straight downhill when the pandemic hit. However, the pandemic is mostly over and we picked up a spicy chicken family meal yesterday May 16, 2022 and it was terrible. The chicken was old, overcooked, and nothing but a bunch of dried up thighs. If Popeyes had no decent prepared chicken available they should have warned us. Person at window did not seem to know what they were doing, Got our order home and NO biscuits and the chicken was all the same pieces, and only 7 pieces, no variety of white and dark as described on the menu. No legs or thighs or wings .We have a 6 year old that only eats legs, so she went hungry and ate peanut butter n' crackers for supper and two other family members who do not eat white breast meat (it is too dry) So they had to find something else to eat at home for supper. One person could not eat 7 breast, so 5 pieces got thrown out to trash. It seems this location just give what the hell they want because they had an over abundance of certain type pieces of chicken and WHAT happened to the biscuits that were were suppose to get. Ok here's the problem and it not the quality of food. This location has some of the worst service I have ever received from a fast food place. More than half the time you place an order when you get to your destination and open your bag the order is either wrong or missing all together. Basically no one checks the order that it is complete and accurate. This happens again and again and again. Believe me we call in and they known it. You would think they would correct this procedural issue to increase service. The kicker is when you inform them they can't take the fact they make this error over and over with no resolve and they get offensive and rude like it's our fault. Seriously time to grow up and fix your processes. Shame on us for not double checking every time but WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO.
