So I'll start by saying that IF you have 30 minutes to wait AND they have what you want, the food is pretty good. It was frustrating to wait so long and see 5 employees not working and 1 working. Rarely is the order correct the first time as I saw several come in with orders wrong. As you can see the restroom was honestly disgusting and I wish the rest of the restaurant didn't look like that as well. I was given a cup to fix my drink, there was no ice in the lobby, My friend ordered a two piece meal with a leg and a thigh only to get home and have a leg and a breast. The macaroni was overcooked. 1152 am nearly 2 hours of being open and their system is down and they aren't taking orders. Restaurant is really dirty. Floor matter had never seen a sweep or steam clean. Threshold at the doorway had so much build up. Empty cups and food boxes still in the tables with plenty of crumbs to accompany the rest of the mess. I was close to this Popeye's at 3300 Pelham Parkway in Pelham, Alabama during a recent doctors visit and stopped. I ordered the 18 piece family meal with 2 mash potatoes with gravy and 1 Cole Slaw. Also ordered a #1 with NO MAYO. Had to say my order twice also told the lady when I got to the window make sure there is NO MAYO on that sandwich. She said ok..... I know there were only abt 3 people in the store, so I said take your time. I get on the interstate to go back to Tuscaloosa where I live and pulled out my sandwich to eat and guess what.... It HAD MAYO... Get home and I only have 1 mash potatoes and gravy...... How many f***** times do have to repeat an order when they are taking 1 car at a time through the drive thru....... They had trash spread all over counter where you place order and pay. The sink where they were washing their hands was broken so it was continuously running to the point the sink was overflowing onto the floor causing the entire restaurant floor to be full of water. I only gave a 1 star because zero stars was not an option. I absolutely love Popeyes Chicken, but my last visit was worse than any other, and they weren't that great. I ordered on the app and arrived 15 minutes later. When I pulled up to the speaker (no one was in front of me) I was harshly told to come to the window, which I did, but not before I noticed 3 employees at the back of the lot smoking pot. When I arrived at the window, the girl there was so high, she couldn't function. I said "I placed an order on the app for ***" and gave her my name. She just looked at me stupidly and said "Huh?". I repeated what I said and she just turned toward the kitchen and yelled "Doordash!!", tuned back and said "Pull over there" and pointed to a space, where there were already two other cars waiting. I did as directed, and I waited. Keep in mind, my order was already placed 15 minutes prior to my arrival. I waited another 15 before I started to get irritated. I'm now 30 minutes in to this order. I waited another 10 and went inside. There was a gentleman at the register waiting ... he said he'd been there almost 10 minutes with no one coming to the front. There were workers walking back and forth in front of us and NOT ONE asked if we needed help. Finally, young man IN THE KITCHEN asked me what I needed and I said I was waiting for an app order. He said he was working on it and it would be two minutes. Great! I now am 45 minutes in. I watched as he put dark meat in a box and I asked if that was mine and he said it was. I said, "I ordered a three piece, all white, spicy, but I saw a leg and thigh go in the box". He was great and looked and was apologetic. We chuckled and I said "no worries" and all was well with him. A few minutes later, the stoned girl from the window popped her head around the tea keg and said "It's gonna be 12 minutes for mild", to which I replied "I didn't order any mild" and she looked at me and said "Well, who did??", loudly. Excuse me? How in the Hell am I supposed to know?? And yes, that is what I asked her. I finally got my food, or most of it. I was missing an order of fries, but I did have an order of wings that I didn't order. I also didn't have spicy chicken like I ordered. As I stood waiting, I noticed their health rating was 86. That should be posted on the window so you can see it before you ever get in line. I won't be back for a while, and when I do go back, I will go inside and look at the health rating first. Or, I may just go to the newly built one on Highway 280. The Pelham one has just become trash. Maybe if they lay off the pot while working, it may help. I guess I came at a good time compared to other reviews because I'm satisfied with my purchase! I got a 2 piece dark meat combo special with 2 sides, a drink and a strawberry biscuit. I waited for a reasonable amount of time in the drive through, let them know I had an app order and promptly got my food. Service was good but nothing spectacular. I had a 20 minute drive back to my place after getting the food and everything is still at a good temperature so the food was fresh and hot when I got it and my order was accurate. I was craving Popeye's so I'm definitely glad it met my expectations! The only downside is the area smells like a farm lol read more

Since my last review in 2018, I have ordered from here maybe 2 or 3 times. Customer service and food, decent. However, on this last visit, customer service and the food exceeded my expectations. Drive-thru only and the young lady taking the order was extremely nice and made sure to have my wings changed to spicy as I forgot to mention while ordering. The chicken was fresh. The mashed potatoes with gravy had an odd texture but still edible and I even ate half the biscuit with honey, rare. Normally, I don't ask for condiments or silverware if I am going home, this time no different but if I wanted to pull over and eat, I had everything I needed in the bag. 4 stars all around. Not sure when I will be back but here's to hoping for the same or better customer service and food in the future. read more

The things I do and endure for a Popeye's biscuit! Sigh. I've been to this location multiple times and one thing is definitely consistent--the lackluster customer service. On today, a friend of mine and I decided to head over to Popeye's. I mentally prepared myself to deal with the lethargy I would deal with when I'm there, but it still doesn't make it any easier. My friend and I entered and we were greeted. However, the cashier soon showed her true colors when my friend asked her about the coupon she had. She answered the question rather rudely with a manager standing right there. Then, the cashier seemed to be having an issue with ringing up the order with the coupon so my friend showed her the coupon on the phone again and she responds that she had seen it. When I ordered, I also used a coupon, but I had another item I wanted to order that wasn't covered by the coupon. The cashier brashly tells me I can't order the additional item if I wanted to use a coupon. She said I'd have to do two separate orders. I told her that was fine with me. The whole interaction left much to be desired. I really wish they'd open up a Popeye's closer to me and I wish that management required more from their employees. Will I be back? Who knows. In case you're wondering if the lines have gotten shorter...they have not. For something completely different for us, we decided to try the sandwiches. We ordered online which saved absolutely no time; you still have to wait in the drive-thru line which went completely through their lot and to the street. Will say I didn't see they offered coupons/specials offered with online ordering until after order was entered, so I will keep that in mind for next time. We did decide to try the family meal which included 4 sandwiches, a large order of fries, and 4 biscuits for $17.99. Not a bad deal, as the sandwiches are satisfying enough that we didn't need tons of fries. Not the best biscuits we have ever tried, but we'll give them a go another time and see if they're better. The biscuits didn't look like they'd risen much, and had that weird almost grayish tint that not-homemade biscuits get when they're not cooked quite right. Sandwiches themselves were good, though I don't know if I'd jump into any particular fast food camp for the 'best chicken sandwich.' The chicken itself was maybe a little thicker and definitely crispier/crunchier than the rivals. We got two regular and two spice sandwiches. I definitely recommend trying the spicy as that is some pretty good sauce! Will surely try this again, as it's one of the most affordable family meals around. read more

While traveling down to Pensacola, my mother and I stopped for a quick pit stop and decided to finally try the new popeyes chicken sandwich. We each ordered the spicy sandwich meal with fries and drink. The drive thru like was a little long but that was expected since the pandemic has closed the inside dining area. When we received our sandwiches they were very hot and fresh! The bun was delicious and had the perfect amount of spicy mayo, which packed some heat! The pickles were the perfect compliment to the chicken. The chicken was crunchy and juicy. Popeyes French fries are for sure under rated, they have great flavor and are some of my favorite fast food French fries. I am going to say that do prefer the popeyes chicken sandwhich over Chick-fil-A's! Definitely order the spicy, if you are worried about it being too hot I would ask for less mayo. read more

Their fries are mediocre, their biscuits are so dense you might choke eating one, and their sauces are not great. If you want great fried chicken for a good price, Popeye's will deliver. Classic Chicken Sandwich (5/5): I think this is the best friend chicken sandwich you can get at a fast-food restaurant. Their breast is massive and meaty. Their batter is crispy and perfectly cooked throughout. Chick Fil A offers a smaller breast, a deflated bun, and no crispiness in their batter. Popeye's defeats the competition by giving customers a better tasting and larger chicken sandwich. Chicken Combo (2 pieces) (4/5): Their chicken is very crispy, but the meat is not the most tender. I wish the batter was slightly thicker, but nonetheless, it is good. Popeye's doesn't rival local options such as Gus's and Eugene's, but it is still great! What can I really say? This is a popeye's. The chicken is always fresh and delicious. It's fast food. So don't expect to get white glove service. I went in for the new chicken sandwich not long ago and a few things stood out to me. For one, the crew did a great job of serving the largest mob of chicken sandwich seekers that I've ever seen, and two...the sandwich is amazing. Regular or spicy, with or without a combo....whatever. It's twice the size of a chik fil a sandwich and there isn't a donation to divisive political causes build into the price. Yes. I've had really good experiences at this location. Now, one thing that may make a big difference, I've never been at lunch or dinner time, it's always been later - and in fact closer to closing time if anything. Traditional fried chicken that kicks the heat scale up a bit with some Cajun flare. Of course I had to go in a different direction and go for the popcorn shrimp. Generous portions at a reasonable price. Comes with fries, which if they are fresh are some of my favorite fast food fries - basically I guess I like the seasoning that they put on them. Where they have really shined is the staff. Really friendly group working the drive through. I haven't been inside, so not sure what a dine in experience would be like. We ordered the family box that came with 9 pieces of chicken, 2 large sides and 4 biscuits We ordered the chicken mild with no breast and told it would be a 14 minute wait for mold okay that's fine. I knew it would be fresh so that's a score in my book. We ordered red beans and rice as one side and mashed potatoes with gravy on the side as the second side and an additional side of gravy. Didn't check the order because after waiting over them 13 minutes we just assumed it was right and left. Get home yes the chicken was piping hot but we had breast and gravy was on the mashed potatoes. Ughhhhhhh. No one eats breast in my house and once you serve the first scoop of potatoes the gravy is gone for the rest of the serving. Smh. Stay to far to go back and I doubt that they would've cared if I called especially since they didn't expect us to wait 13 minutes for mild chicken to cook. Most recently, after ordering in the drive thru and paying, I was asked to pull off to a parking space and wait for someone to bring the food out to my car.
