I visited this location on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was clean and the service was speedy. When ordering inside, you are prompted to order from the kiosk, I had no complaints about this but could see how it would be an issue when they have a high volume of customers. I ordered popcorn shrimp, Cajun fries, and coleslaw. For my drink, I ordered a strawberry lemonade which was very refreshing. All products were made to order. Honestly, the customer service here was terrible. I ordered online and still had to wait about 10 minutes just for someone to acknowledge me and hand me my food. They do have kiosks, which I usually use, but since my order was already placed online, I expected the process to be quicker. The workers seemed more focused on talking in the back of the kitchen than helping customers. Nobody wanted to work the cash register, and they would just stand around looking at each other until someone finally decided to help. The service was unorganized and very slow. Based on the other reviews for this location, it seems like incorrect orders and poor service are a common issue and unfortunately that was my experience as well. I ordered two regular Fish Filet sandwich combos, but when I got home both sandwiches were the spicy versions. I cannot eat the spicy version, so both meals went to waste. I tried calling the store multiple times to get the issue resolved, but no one answered the phone. I paid for two meals that I wasn't able to eat due to the order being wrong. I would appreciate if someone from management could reach out to address this issue. If it is resolved, I will gladly update my review. You can tell this location is working hard to improve. We had terrible service here a couple years ago--so bad we avoided it for over two years. Back then, the staff was disorganized, our order was wrong or missing, and one visit took nearly an hour just to get refunded. But recently, I gave it another shot and noticed a big difference. The staff was friendly, the food was fresh, and they got the order right. Huge improvement. That's why I came back again tonight, and I'm glad I did. My only complaint is the portion size of the sides. The mac and cheese was barely 3.4oz for almost $4 (w/ tax). For something that inexpensive to make, it should at least fill the cup. Small things like that really do matter, especially when other nearby spots are consistently packed while you guys struggle to bring business in. That said, I tried the blackened chicken tenders for the first time and they were delicious. Paired with mashed potatoes and gravy, it made for a satisfying meal under 500 calories. I went through the drive food and order a simple 2 of the tenders combo. One of the combos had fries. I asked them to have them freshly made, and they said the chicken is pretty much freshly made and that they can do that for the fries I said that works. I took a bite of the fries when I left the parking lot and they were cold and soggy. I let it go because I have things I need to do. The tenders were so tough you couldn't even rip through them. I ordered three items the new five nights at Freddy's two meal. I got some of the worst chicken strips. I think I've ever had. They were super small and not worth the $8 I spent on them. They didn't even put the cheese bites in there. The only thing they got right was the fries I ordered on the side. My expectations were already low, but that was like a whole new low. I've been to many and never had one this consistently bad. When you spend $43 you might expect to get what you ordered or at least be given the chance to select something else if they are out of it. It's been a few years since we had been to this one and gave them another chance since the app showed they had cajun rice while a brand new location closer did not show it Picked up the order and foolishly did not check since the bag was tied up. Got home and instead of 2 large and one regular cajun rice we get red beans and rice in containers labeled cajun rice and a regular mashed potatoes. I can understand if they didn't sell it anymore but the website shows it, the app let me order it and the labels on the containers even said that's what was in it but it was not. I've been eating Popeyes for the majority of my life and I have never been to a location (Texas or Louisiana) that's consistently disappointing as this location. When it first opened they were great; if there was an issue the manager would immediately make amends. After a year their food quality decreased. Today was my last time giving them a chance. Every item we ordered the food is either not fresh or flavorless. Which is so hard to understand. The biscuit tasted like flour (adding honey didn't even help), the spicy chicken was not spicy at all nor did it have any flavor and it most certainly wasn't fresh. Of all things I thought the Red Beans & Rice would be good (it's actually my second favorite side item) I had to add seasoning, and lastly the sweet tea wasn't sweet at all. It appears that Popeyes have stopped serving full size chickens the 10 piece mixed featured 10 of the smallest pieces of chicken I have ever seen. Some of the pieces appeared to be cut in half. The picture is of the biggest piece in the box side by side with a biscuit. I need not say anymore except they are adding a food tax to your order it doubles the sales tax. I am not aware that Popeyes has the authority to assess taxes on Texans. But its right there on the receipt. If you need to charge more then charge more being sneaky has cost you this customer. I went tonight with my three kids in the car and ordered four meals and a side of Mac and cheese. When he reread it he forgot the side of Mac and cheese, no big deal, he readded it and told me total went from $38 to $42. I get to the window and the guy said the total was $38. I asked if they accidentally took off the side again bringing the price down. He was extremely rude and said "I SAID IT WAS $38, NOT $42!!" It ended up that they made a mistake and took it off. I get yelled at in front of my kids with no apology afterwards. The takeaway for them was that we all make mistakes, but you should own them and apologize. This is normally one of my favorite Popeyes to stop at, but today I went through the drive-through and got five piece tender meal. When I went into bite into the chicken there was a green fabric fuzz on it. I thought continued to look through the box all I found an excessive amount over my chicken and my fries. I can see why this place has 1.5 stars. They need to replace the manager and have a refresher course in training for the employees. The manager on site today had little knowledge of their menu as he tried to advise me that the surf and turf meal doesn't automatically come with the costal sauce. I had to return twice during the same visit to 1) get the red beans and rice and two peanut butter and banana pies I purchased and 2) to get the costal sauce that didn't come with my meal.
