First time here and I was meeting someone. We met for drinks and apps. Please is in a shopping strip center with plenty of parking around and near location. Inside I arrived at 7pm Sat and they were busy approx 75% full and some people outside even thought it was still pretty hot. Got a table right away and service got drinks right away. Servers worked as a team and our food came out pretty fast and we got checked on frequently by multiple service staff. You won't feel forgotten. A lot of TVs on walls and busy but not too loud, was able to hold a conversation without yelling. Look forward to another visit for a full meal to try some of the entrees. We went to Woodsons for happy hour after work. I made a reservation in advance but the ladies at the host stand couldn't find them. They were able to seat us anyway as the large tables in front were empty. Most of us had appetizers and drinks, some ordered food. I enjoyed the potstickers, queso and salsa and the giant pretzel. The pretzel was my favorite, even when it was cool, the flavor was still there. Very yummy. We also had buffalo chicken fries and egg rolls, both were good. For some reason it was super cold inside but it was also raining a bit so that might be why. It was cold for me which is odd but rather too cold than hot. As a server for 5+ years, I have never been motivated to leave less than a 15% tip even when service has lacked- until last Saturday night. Me and my sister were meeting up with her husband who already had a table inside. There was maybe 3 other tables in the whole restaurant plus a couple of people at the bar, so I was suprised to have waited so long for our server (who conveniently didn't give us her name) to come greet us. Because I work in the food industry I'm not quick to judge service so harshly but there was no "Hello" or "Welcome" or even warmth in our first encounter, just "What can I get for your drinks." It was a little odd but I chalked it up to our server being busy. After we received our drinks, we took some time looking at the menu and catching up. Around 15 minutes passed when she stopped by to take our order. My brother in law was a little hesitant as he wasn't completely sure what he wanted and I was ready to place my order to give him more time but she gave us all but 3 seconds before she rudely interrupted me to say she would give us a few minutes and walked off. This went beyond improper service was just disrespectful, when up until this point we hadn't even spoken more than 4 words to her. Me and my sister looked at each other in shock. We often go out to eat and this was the first instance we had experienced such a rude server. After another 10 minutes she came by again to get our order and this time we were all ready. As we went giving our orders, she just stood there, not writing anything down or inputting anything in to a handheld system. At the point I am full on judging every action she makes since up to this point she has been nothing but rude. My brother in law was the first to receive his food, mind you, there was a food runner for the section running out all the orders so at this point I am so confused what could be causing our server to be in such a rush. A few minutes after his food arrived, our server stopped by to ask my sister "Wait you said the cajun pasta, right?" My sister confirmed and with the most personality we have seen from this woman all night she jokingly says "Good, cus I already put it in and its almost out." Feeling uncomfortable, me and my sister awkwardly laughed. I suppose she found it funny and unconcerning that the only aspect of being a server that she hadn't yet lacked in was hanging by a thread. The whole experience was giving mean girl. A few minutes after the food arrived, our server once again arrived to ask how everything was. Before we even finished our obligatory responses, she was already turning around and walking away. The food was pretty lack luster and maybe we would've given it a second chance if the service wasn't so shit. It felt degrading the whole time. When the check came around and it was on a handheld system that required us to input a tip while the server holds on to it, I very proudly put 0. I have never in my life done that because as server I know we work off tips but if you can do the job then maybe your income shouldn't depend on it. I would recommend this restaurant to find a different server and I would recommend to the server that she find another job, preferably one where she has no direct contact with guests. read more

I'm not sure if patrons were loving the Astros game coverage, beer, the giant pretzel, or all three but it's clear they were enjoying escaping day 4 without power. Like most, I usually come to Woodsons for the pretzel...you know the one, it's bigger than your head and comes with a decadent side of beer cheese. Today, I decided to expand my palate and order a few items that were underrepresented in the photo gallery, the sleeper hits if you will. I'm glad I gave them some love, because they were all delicious. +New Fashion- I truly couldn't tell you how it differs from the old fashioned lol, but for this setting theirs is passable. It doesn't seem like a popular option, but the beer selection always is! +Sweet tea- this tea is not for the week...we're talking Chicken Express level sweet on this sweet tea (or atleast it was the night we visited) +margarita chicken- I wanted a "healthier" option, and while this wasn't exactly a healthy choice but it was delicious without being too greasy, fatty, or dry. The generous portion was a nice bonus. +onion rings- after trying these fresh from the fryer, I'm convinced every entree deserves a side of these onion rings. The batter was perfection where they arrived to our table perfectly crisp, smelling like indulgence, with a beautifully balanced in batter to onion ratio. Mmmmmmm. This simple addition really made our meal! That's it...oh wait...I guess I should admit that I also ordered the pretzel with beer cheese because how can you go to Woodsons without ordering the pretzel with beer cheese, and in an epic turn of events it reheats beautifully, and tastes just as decadent at home. I love this place, i got at least 3 or 4 times a month. The food, service, and environment is amazing and i recommend everyone to go cause its really good and has just about everything. So from somebody who goes frequently, heres a honest rating on the foods i had. (I get the same thing a lot so i havent tried everything) Appetizers: Hat trick: 6/10, it was alright, the nachos were okay and they could put more cheese, nd i got the brisket egg roll. Giant Pretzel: 100/10, so good n hot! Egg rolls - Buffalo Egg Roll: 5/10, mac wasnt all that and just tasted plain. Birria Egg Roll: 9/10, it was yummyy. Brisket Egg Roll: 8/10, if it wasnt cut in half, it probably wouldve been a lil better ngl but otherwise its pretty good. Woodsons: 9/10, i love the bacon jam on it w the onions, it was just a lot for me. Smash Burger: 4/10, it was more expensive then the actual burger for a smaller, smashed burger. it wasnt allat and i wouldn't rlly get it again tbh. We started with the chips and queso and the tuna poke -- both were pretty good and a solid way to begin the meal. For our entrées, I ordered the fish tacos, while my husband and son went with the crawfish boil and added shrimp, crab legs, sausage, corn, and potatoes. Unfortunately, the crawfish were tiny and hard to open -- definitely underwhelming. The crab legs were served without crackers, and when we asked for them, our waitress said they didn't have any and there was nothing she could do. My husband, understandably frustrated, asked if she could find scissors or something to help. She responded with some attitude but eventually came back with crab crackers -- which they did have after all. Service throughout the meal was lacking. Our waitress only checked on us twice and didn't return to offer drink refills at any point. For that level of service, the overall experience just didn't measure up. Was out and about with my friends on a Saturday night and stopped into grab a quick drink. Sat at the bar, and even though it was busy we're greeted very quickly and after a few drunk recommendations I went with the Blueberry Mojito, because I just love blueberries and it's Saturday so there are really no rules. My friend started to get hungry and ordered a brownie dessert that looked really good so I decided to order the banana pudding dessert. The drink was really light and refreshing and I'm not really hard to please but I really enjoyed the dessert. Maybe next time I come here I will be more adult like and order a meal. Lively Hangout Despite our family coming in during peak hours on a Sunday night, we were sat quickly. The servers were slammed, but they were running a tight ship. It was impressive to see that they were able to keep an eye on us while delivering excellent service to us and everyone around us. After having our order taken, the food came out promptly and we never had to flag someone down. The food got the job done. Big ole portions leaving plenty to be taken home later. My favorite had to the the giant pretzel. The sheer size was comical and it didn't hurt that it was both crispy and soft/fluffy. The atmosphere is lively and casual. There are also many massive TVs for the sports goers, and outside patio sections for those looking for a more imitate talking space. Those crispy tortilla chips, drizzled with queso, BBQ sauce, and topped with coleslaw and fresh jalapeño slices, were the perfect snack! This is a good sports bar with good service and a decent menu right on 99 near Burnham Woods. They have lots of TVs and know how to change the channels on various ones so we can all enjoy our favorite sports. Each time I have eaten here the food has been very good and the service has been good as well. I like the location near the movie theater And lots of other eating establishments in the same center. The food here is an absolute joke. For such a great area it's a shame this is even an option. I ordered the cure with onion rings and a sweet tea. The burger was essentially a salt brick. The patty had no flavor other than pure sodium. The bacon didn't even taste like bacon, just salt. The toast bread couldn't even get the bread flavor, just salt. My tea was just straight sugar water no tea flavor at all. The onion rings are such low quality I didn't even eat one. Odd texture and weird looking. My partners salad was horrendous, possibly the worst salad I've ever had. The only thing that was remotely good was our Texas egg roll appetizer. The service is decent wouldn't say it's all that. Food took way too long to come to the table. We will not be going back. Better off if this place closes and we get a replacement. read more

Not at all what I expected. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a completely packed house and the expection was an Applebees-like quality food. I was wrong. As I was waiting for my order, you can quickly tell the place was saturated with locals collecting here to watch sports. The positive vibes were felt and the beer was pouring. Service is prompt and I was out with my order. A ten minute drive home and I was glad my food was still pipping hot and not soggy. This is due to the fact that the sauces, lettuce and tomotoes are packed separately.The restaurant packages it extremely well; the tatter tots were still crunchy. We ordered the Cuban sandwich, Philly cheesesteak, Nashville Fried Chicken sandwich, and a cheeseburger. I cannot find a single flaw with the order. I can only imagine what the items would had tasted had we dined in and ate it fresh. The entrees are priced reasonably and does not make you feel like you ingested a pound of grease. First time here and visiting from out of town. Walking in you are welcomed by good music yet still and environment you can hold conversation in with friends or coworkers. We were seated right away and greeted by our server Kailey. She was very helpful at recommending dishes for those of us that had not been in before. Great selection of standard domestic beers on tap as well as other craft beers. Food quality was excellent and it didn't take forever to get our order. I went to this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. The service was good. The ambiance is just like any other bar & grill type of restaurant. I ordered the Blackened Salmon Pasta. It came with way too many tortilla strips in my opinion. The salmon was under seasoned and the sauce did not make up for it. I originally wanted to order the Birria Tacos but was told that the restaurant could not make it with flour tortillas which I thought was odd.
