Let me start by saying that I don't normally patronize fast food places, and this is my first Yelp review of one. With that said, many of my friends (most notably Pots & Pans, and Demanding Dan) mentioned that Popeye's has the best chicken sandwich in the industry and, arguably, the best one anywhere. With our workplace cafeteria closed, what were we to do for lunch? When the possibility of a Popeye's run came up, seven of us said "count me in". So, three of us piled into a car and headed out to Popeye's up by the airport. We had a pretty simple order -5 spicy chicken sandwich combos and 2 regular chicken sandwich combos. We found the counter person who took our order to be friendly and efficient. It took a while to package up the seven meals, but we were out of there in a decent amount of time to drive our treasures back to Windsor. What can I say? My sandwich was very good. I liked the spicy zip on the breading, the portion of chicken was super generous, the roll was soft and fresh, and even the pickle slice added a lot. The fries were good too, but the portion size was definitely on the chintzy side. On the other hand, the soft drink that came with the $8.99 combo was pretty generous. Just a few improvement opportunities. Two in our group wanted a regular Coca Cola, but the Coke option was sold out on their freestyle soda machine. Secondly, we found it really hard to tell which sandwiches were spicy and which were regular. Finally, we saw a very hard to read space on the bottom of the bag where a pencil mark indicated how much spicy horsepower was in that sandwich. The secret was discovered too late for some folks.... So I went through the drive-thru and I told the employee that I wanted a six piece boneless wings with the hot, occasion fries Coke I decided Ranch regular size. Heard chuckling in the background, then he asked me to repeat the order. I came up to the window, and gave the gentleman my card. He took the card he charged it and he gave me my drink. He then said it will be a few minutes for the tenders. I moved forward and parked waiting for my order. 10 minutes past and he came out to my window and asked me what my order was again. I told him it was hot boneless wings with fries. He went back inside and another 6 minutes went by. I turned off my car and walked inside the door. The moment I stepped in he grabbed a bag and handed it over to me and apologize. Looking in the bag there were fries and boneless wings but they had no sauce on the wings. And somehow he included a free pie. During the entire moment of standing there there wasn't anybody coming through the drive-thru. Other than one gentleman who immediately got his order. And another man who walked out with a delivery order. I do not understand why in order a simple as I did had it was too complicated. If he had placed the order it should have been on the receipt. I do not understand why I was asked to repeat myself multiple times and still had the order wrong. Maybe not assuming that he was under the influence. But that was very frustrating and it made me feel skeptical because of the constant asking and chuckling. read more

One time my mom bought us 2 Classic Chicken Sandwich's, one of the bags said S for Spicy. She let them know and they tried to act like it was classic. We got home and it wasn't. Popeyes always messes up orders, and has us waiting a very long time even when it's a small order. Not only that but whoever manages the interviews sucks at time management and taking responsibility for scheduled interviews. In the past, I and others were told to come in two different times because the person that was supposed to conduct the interviews never showed up. One time I waited 30 minutes and the other an hour with several others... Guess what the interviewer said when I messaged them... "Come back another day on __ day" Not just once but twice. they made all of us fill applications just to throw it out. Disappointing and ridiculous. Absolute Horrid. If I could give zero stars I absolutely would, however for the sake of this review this will have to do. Let me just say the quality of this one employee was NOT it! My sister, her husband, and two children (ages 2 & 3) went to visit this location on July 12th 2023 around 3pm. They are currently PCSing to Hawaii tomorrow and is staying at a lodge close by, they wanted to order something that would last the night and into the early morning since they'll have to leave the lodging at 2am. The husband had ordered two 8 piece nuggets for the children since they don't eat much as is and then ordered an 8 piece meal for them (keep in mind this is for their lunch and dinner). Every time they add something the employee taking the order is making unnecessary side comments, saying things like "oh someone's hungry", "this is gonna be a big order", "see, I told ya'll this was gonna be a big order (laughs in a teasingly manner)" or laughing at the fact that they're adding more items to their order. He fatshamed my sister for trying to provide for her family!! My sister has a lower back injury can barely walk long distances, and had a history of binge eating disorder and is trying her best to change for the better. The atmosphere was just not it in general, don't get me wrong, the other employees were okay, just that one employee made something out of nothing. They called the management and I'm not sure if anything will change however there should be consequences for that employees actions and retrain all employees on customer service. read more

This location is in proximity to the airport, even with all the traffic i have rarely if ever seen them busy. Still i think they must be doing business if they are still around because places come and go all the time here. As i recall i got 5 chicken sandwiches for my family and rice and beans. The sandwiches just tasted like the fry batter which was really fun... The chicken i think was a breast, very dry... The service wasn't great at all, i think i felt sick within an hour. Whether it be a sandwich, sauces or sides. So always check your bags before you leave so you don't end up disappointed again and again. They seem severely understaffed and peak times for lunch and dinner you should try to avoid. I am also a doordash driver, and I can say that as of today I will no longer be accepting delivery orders from Popeyes. They constantly screw up the orders and customers leave us with bad reviews. I have tried to be patient and understanding about things like pressure during the lunch time rush or from Covid related staffing issues, but there is no excuse to cover EVERY visit!
