And it pains me to wright this review my self and wifeI walk in to are favorite Popeyes ordered our kids food and then when we got our food, we realize it was all wrong. So we ask nicely remember this is our favorite place please our food is wrong. We want our food playing with cheese, we got a very strong attitude from the person working in the register said no we ordered it with mayo and pickles and we kindly said please look at our receipt it says plain cheese he got angry cause we were right and started arguing with employees in back of him, we said, could we just please have our food we don't wanna, see you argue with the staff so they gave us our food and then we noticed it was there was no macaroni and cheese and he said you didn't order macaroni and cheese so we had to show our receipt please Popeyes we love this location maybe this employee just had a bad day !!! Please Popeyes fix this all the employees at this location work hard, and do a great job serving your product. It would be a shame. Legit do not know why the service here is so bad. It's like having a team of poorly trained teens at their first customer service job. The staff do try to make things right and correct the issue so I can't come down too hard on them. Every time I order here, 4/5 the order will either be missing something, wait time is not fast food worthy, customer service on the speaker to order food isn't of quality... I don't get it. Starting with the service... HORRIBLE. While we WERE acknowledged when we walked in (with a "what can I get you"), we needed a moment to actually LOOK at the menu boards and were just LEFT at the counter (there were NO other customers in the building). There were 5 employees behind the counter conversing very loudly in another language and one sitting in the dining area sitting, talking on her cell phone. When other customers came on, they were also left at the counter not being helped. Their food is just okay at best (their fries are good, extra small shrimp is over spiced, chicken sandwiches are VERY good, desserts should be taken out back and be shot... put them out of their misery). The restaurant itself is a mess... floors littered with food and wrappers, cluttered counters, dirty windows, stains on the ceiling tiles... I cleaned up the drink station simply because I couldn't stand looking at all of the straw wrappers and cup lids all over the place. I have no takeaway for this review. Ordered a 5pc spicy in the drive thru and they had me pull to the side to wait for the food. When it came out, I had 4 piping hot fresh tenders and one cold rubbery one. One of these things is not like the other.... Ate in the car in the basically-empty parking lot while watching a dude under by a tree on the property make a few drug deals. Not bad but off to a rough start. I went at the end of the night on the second day they were open. They ran out of fish and don't even have onion rings and jambalaya at this location which was a big let down. I got some food to go for me and a couple friends. They got my whole order right (3 chicken combos with sides, 6 biscuits, Apple pie) except the apple pie which they forgot. I should have checked before I left. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The mashed potatoes and gravy were not good. The biscuits were buttery and flavorful. Make sure to get a drink though because the biscuits are very dry. I also got a sweet tea which was good once I added ice to it. The service wasn't the best. The lady at the counter seemed like she either didn't understand English very well or wasn't familiar with the menu items. She kept getting confused when I was trying to order. She also kept looking away and not paying attention. I will go back for chicken and biscuits and also since this is a new location I'll give it another try. Not too bad for just opening. read more

First of all, I have lived in a few states and have had Popeyes chicken in them and love it but not this place. I order a 3 piece with red beans and rice. Although I see they have a huge mound of freshly cooked chicken, they always give me one good piece and two dried out pieces. I end up throwing out most of the dried out pieces. We ordered 2 - mild five Piece specials and an order of mild fries, we were directed to the pick up window , the order came and was missing the fries, I asked and they said they did not charge us for the fries and said they will make some if we want. due to a time constraint we said never mind. when we god home we served the Chicken only to discover one box was mild and the other was spicy, they did not listen as we ordered and the whole order was wrong. we do spend time in Cumberland RI but doubt a return to this Popeye's read more

Very Disappointed ! New Restaurants are usually on top of their game and you get fresh hot food. 3 strikes and we are done!!!! After this 3rd visit - this will be the last !! Ordered a 16 pc chicken ONLY at the drive through, not a hard order ..4 breasts, 4 thighs, 4 wings and 4 drumsticks. I specifically asked the server if the chicken pcs were assorted to include 4 of each cut. She said you get more than 16 and I gave you what we had and its counted. I guess they feel confident that people won't come back if they go through the drive through when they screw you over. I pulled away in the parking lot, opened the box to find it loaded with the box containing a majority of wings and legs to make up for the lacking Breasts and Thighs. I immediately drove back to the window and told the girl at the window (different than the one who picked my order) to take a look at what the other girl loaded the box. She took the box and took pcs of the chicken from the returned box and put them in a new box and took the missing breasts and thighs from the tray under the heat lamp and gave me the box back. She said, now you have 4 of each pc. If you want barely warm food and service with a who cares attitude then by all means go to this Popeye's in Woonsocket. We NEVER have this trouble at the Popeye's in Johnston Rhode Island and the owner makes sure if someone is ordering a large order that you get fresh chicken with all the right cuts .. not just shove what they have left in the box. WE won't EVER go back again and I have told everyone that has asked me about the restaurant in Woonsocket I know about the experience. I had high anticipations for Popeye's, but it was average at best. With that said, I still wish Wendy's occupied this building right on Diamond Hill Road in Woonsocket. It really says something about this retail district if even Wendy's, the best of the fast food industry, isn't able to stay afloat! Anyway, so this place opened in their spot at a signalized intersection across from the dying Walnut Hill Plaza. This restaurant has a drive thru, and overall has been done a decent job with. The outside and inside both seem well decorated, hence the LONG time it took for them to actually open for business. I only went to the drive thru and from that I can comment that the service was prompt, fast and accurate. In general, it seems to be a bit more expensive than other fast food places of the type (like KFC), and at the same time, you seem to get less for you pay for. I'd say the quality of what you are getting is similar or the same to other fast food joints like KFC. And, in no manner whatsoever are you getting anything comparable to Chick-fil-A (the best fried chicken chain). In total, Popeye's is just ok. It's not astounding like people make it sound.... it is just ok, and for the food, pretty bland. I'm unsure if I would come back here in the future, especially considering that there is in fact a KFC nearby, which I prefer and is less expensive. We had to wait for about 15 minutes to have our order taken. Very understaffed for a Friday noon lunch hour. The food was good but while I was eating my lunch the restaurant's shift supervisor got into an argument with a customer over his curt treatment of another customer and things almost got out of hand. The advertised 12 piece for $21.99 was actually $29.99. Then went all the way home and realized they didn't include one of the two sides. I was pissed and called. The manager, service and food I encountered here were excellent. On Thursday November 7th around 6:30 pm I phone this location after arriving to another Popeyes with locked doors after the relaunch of the sandwich (customers were still inside and in the drive- thru). My daughter was in the area of this one so I phoned to make sure they were open, had food and took app orders, I didn't even want the sandwich. I spoke with the manager Awa who was completely calm, professional and very accommodating at a very chaotic time; she personally tended to my order and the quality of the food was on point. I was expecting a humbug using the app but it was very efficient and convenient. I have been to at least the Brockton East side, Randolph, and Johnston locations (more than once at each location) in the past few months so can speak to the service and quality of food I've encountered; the service and food at this location was exceptional and will be my go to location in the future. I must say I think it's a shame Popeye's is just sitting idly by not addressing or adding any recourse to all of the craziness and a shame to see our people succumbing to it. read more

I always have a complicated order consisting of mostly if not all drumsticks so I have to wait most times. If I have my daughter they always give her a toy or a pie. It's mostly the same girl that helps me and I don't go often maybe once a month or once every two months. The managers always have a smile as well as the girl. They are always nice. Sometimes there are things missing or the gallon of sweet tea isn't exactly sweet, but it's a fast food restaurant. I don't sit down inside and I'm not a fan of opening my boxes and cups in the car. I'm happy we have a Popeyes in Woonsocket. 10 years ago, I moved to New England from Florida where we had a Popeyes and up until I moved to Woonsocket from the Berkshires 3 years ago, I only had Popeyes in Florida so I'm not complaining. I called this Popeye's location over a month ago, in early/mid October. I spoke to two people, as the first person was having a little bit of a hard time communicating on the phone, so the second person took over. I said that I heard they were doing Thanksgiving turkeys and I would like to order one for my family to pick up the night before - I asked if I should pay over the phone and she said, "no, pay when you get here" and I reconfirmed I'd be picking up a precooked turkey on Weds 11/25, she confirmed back. I arrive at 4:30 tonight, the NIGHT before Thanksgiving to pick up this promised turkey and the man looks at me and goes, "We sold out yesterday". I explained over and over again that I called over a month in advanced and specifically asked if I needed to pay over the phone or come in and pay in advance. He blankly stared at me and offered no apology - I raised my voice out of sheer frustration with the situation, then another woman came in who had also called in advance and was told they were sold out. I'm so disappointed and disgusted with their poor business practice and lack of an offer to even attempt to make it right. Literally just came back from this branch. Horrible drive thru service - attitude is basically like "leaves my hands, I don't care" because mashed potatoes lid was barely out on properly and the container was just tipped over liked they just dropped it in. The box the chicken came in was so soggy and oily..and our trip only took 4 mins from Popeyes to home. Usually the order is pay first, so we can check the receipt if everything was properly ordered.. NOPE (missed out on our spicy chicken sandwich). They handed the food first, then stuck out their hand for payment - so no time or chance to check anything. This was my first visit to this location and maybe the 3rd time in my lifetime eating at Popeyes. The set-up is spacious, good amount of seating. I hadn't eaten at a Popeyes in many years so getting reacquainted with the menu on the wall while the orders takers stare at you is a bit annoying, but whatever. When I went to order and had a question the women was just rude as asking a question was an extra fee. Seems like they want to take your order and then NEXT...The chicken was good. So I'm giving two stars because the Popeyes chicken sandwich is a 10/10 for me. BUT this location is absolutely terrible. I ordered a classic chicken sandwich combo at the drive-thru with Cajun fries and sweet tea. The girl made a creepy, high-pitched voice when she told me to pull up (after speaking normally before that). She charged me, handed me a bag with just fries and a drink... and I said "Oh I ordered a chicken sandwich combo". Apparently she hadn't charged me for that, so she took my card and charged me another $4 and then said "ok thank you" and shut the window. After a minute she opened it back up and asked what I needed, and I was like "well... you STILL didn't give me a sandwich????" She started laughing hysterically and then said "original or spicy" and I told her I wanted original. She handed me a sandwich which I didn't realize was spicy until I got all the way home. It was such a bizarre interaction between the strange voices, the utter confusion, the insane laughter.... I feel like she was high as a kite. I've had other bad interactions at this location but this one by far took the cake. read more
