Finally I had my excuse to make the trip north to Woonsocket. I'm so glad I did. This place packs in so much stuff! A full grocery, plus deli counter and you can order a hot lunch. There's a cozy seating area with Polish clothing, books and art around to give it life. I walked around ten store for a bit, overwhelmed by all the delights on the shelves. I picked up a few items and went to the register. There, I also picked up my scoop. They serve homemade gelato and sorbet here, and I chose the amarena gelato (cherry). She served it up, added a cute little cookie and then I went outside to sit and eat. The texture of this wasn't quite gelato. But it wasn't quite sorbet, either. It was almost like a sherbert. It was smooth, fruity and a little creamy. The marinated cherry flavor really came through. If I could compare it to something family, it was like a grown up version of the old Flintstone Cherry sherbet Push-Up popsicle. I loved it. And I will get it again next time I come in. Krakow is such a special place, their Polish selection is awesome. It made me want to buy a Polish cookbook to learn how to use all the ingredients I saw! If you've ever had a pierogi, that's enough reason to stop in. Just make sure you get some gelato, too!

The crust of these pies is more akin to a pan style pizza than what I would think of as a bar or tavern pie. It had that buttery crisp that reminds me of old school Pizza Hut (and I mean that complementary!). The sauce was a solid supporting character, the real star are the cheese and toppings here. It tastes and stretches like they use a blend of cheddar and mozzarella. The pepperoni was cooked to perfection. The cups pooling with oil and so crunchy. It was actually in a spring roll wrapper so I'm not sure why they're trying to pass it off as an eggroll. It was way below average, small and mostly cheese with barely any steak. An easy waste of money. They have a big menu online but only about 1/4 of the menu is displayed at this location. They also have the world's smallest selection of Pepsi products. A good amount of Coke products though. My last visit was beyond disappointing and a big shocker coming from J's. I think I'll stay away from this place for awhile.

I typically visit the other location because it is closer to me, but I was in the Bellingham area and was happy to be able to visit this location. I will continue visiting The Beef Barn in the future. I love it and I hope they continue to be successful for years and years to come!

Just want you all to know if you have ever ordered food from this place I watched as more than one employee dripped sweat into my food as they all complained about not having a working air conditioner. Also there was this creepy kid who hung out there, and he said his friend worked there but he was allowed to go behind the counter. The owner is a real delight. He told Yelp some big lie about my not being a real customer and they took my review down. Well, I provided Yelp with several receipts and they put my review right back up. After that the owner tried all sorts of annoying ways to get me to take my scathing review down, which I eventually did because after he had his young daughter call me, I felt bad, but seeing other reviews regarding their rudeness doesn't surprise me in the least. Work on your terrible temper dude and maybe you won't have to beg people to take down their true and accurate Yelp reviews.

To have a diverse plate, we decided on pasta and meatballs, a large grilled chicken sandwich with everything + mayo, and a large pizza 3-way combo - onions and pepper, pepperoni, and sausage. They don't have 2 L bottles of soda, but they were nice enough to let us know we could go buy one across the street at the gas station (downside: they are not refrigerated). They also asked if we wanted everything at the same time or whenever they're done; It was a kind gesture. After about 20-30 minutes, the food came out. It was hot, fresh, and overall, everything was delicious. The pasta and meatballs came out in an aluminum container, about 5 in x 8 in. There was a good amount of red sauce and 4 big meatballs. The meatballs were really delicious, with the red sauce being average, and the pasta cooked a bit longer than al dente. I usually prefer white sauces, but red is the only option they have. They couldn't cut to the sandwich is 5 pieces since it would create a mess, so the best they could do is 4. The sandwich was toasted perfectly. It had a good amount of chicken. The toppings were fresh. Although it was a simple sandwich, I was very pleased with the taste. The pizza was good. My only complaint would be that I wish it were cooked a bit more for a crispier experience - in hindsight, I should've specified this when ordering. This also goes for the veggies where I wish they were grilled to have a slight char before putting it on the pizza or allowing them to get crispy. However, I think flavor wise, it was good. The sausage was really delicious and the cheese, although it didn't have a pull, it was the right amount and tasty. We paid about $50 for this food, which was good considering the 5 of us ate and left satisfied.
