I want to give this place zero stars for their food. The place was clean so that would have been 3 stars but I was disappointed in this Popeye Restaurant. I have been to several Popeyes and have never gotten sick before. I am highly allergic to MSG and I feel if a restaurant uses this in their food they should tell people they use it. Come to find out Popeyes uses MSG. We ordered the chicken sandwiches and my sandwich looked like it had a small thigh in it but it was white meat. No where near how they look on TV or on the pictures in the restaurant. The taste was some what off. I went up and ordered chicken wings to go. I got the chicken wings and we left and drove back to Ellensburg. I looked at the receipt and it said it came with a biscuit but there was no biscuits in the boxes. I told my husband that I thought there was MSG in the food. He went and looked it up on the computer and it said they use it for the taste. This is the first time I had a reaction to Popeyes Chicken. It had to be at the one nearest to my home. I am going to call the Main Office of Popeyes and report the high usages of MSG. read more

Worst place to order food from. Everytime i come to pick up food as a carrier from here i always have to wait at least an extra 10 minutes the most 30 minutes. There is always a line of people waiting for their food including cars waiting in the parking lot. read more

Every single time I've gone to Popeyes they've gotten my order wrong. Everytime I order their apple pies they always give me the wrong ones. I ordered wings, they told me it would be a 6 minute wait. Waited over 10 minutes for them to bring my order outside to no avail. Went inside to inquire and they were like oh, we don't have those or need to put the order in now. This was after ordering at the drive thru. I ended up cancelling the order. Every single time they manage to mess up my order. And I don't even go that often because of this. I order on the app at 9:15 pm from my house. Then drove about 15 minutes to the restaurant. Got to the window and was told to wait in front because it wasn't ready, no problem. At about 10:15 I decided to go back in the drive through line to ask for my money back because I'm not waiting 60 minutes for fast food chicken. They brought out my food while I was in line for the second time. But it was missing drinks and dipping sauce. Absolutely the worst we have ever been too. The service was slow. The place was empty and still it took 15min to get our food and the chicken was already made, just waiting. The chicken was hard from sitting under the heat lamp, but was still a little moist in the middle. The mash and gravy was cold and tasted old. But, the fluffy buttermilk biscuits....ya, they would have made perfect hockey pucks. Hard as rock, no moisture and no crumble. Could have skidded across the dead sea. The bathroom...omg....disgusting disgusting disgusting. It looked like a homeless camp. Tissue all over the floor, none in the stalls, no paper towels and the hand dryer dosen't work. Mashed Potatoes Only Review I have frequented Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen clear from the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas, through central California and in the Columbia Gorge in Oregon. I have so LOVED their mashed potatoes ordered a large order of mashed potatoes when in Yakima. They were the worst! There was barely any gravy on them. Don't know whether they overcooked them, or what, but they tasted like they were pure starch. Yes, they had the little lumps in them, like everywhere else I've gotten them, but the rest of the potatoes tasted like the cheapest instant mashed potatoes. I'm guessing if they had put enough gravy on them (which they didn't) they might have been more palatable, but as they stood, I had to toss them out. read more

Me and one of the little dudes dropped by Popeyes for some chicken strips recently. I have to say that our expectations were met and that the chicken was both crispy and quite tasty! When these guys first came to town, the lines were often around the block and it seems like most of the initial reviews reflected a dislike of waiting 45 minutes to get chicken nuggets. I wholeheartedly agree with this! However, now that the average wait time is normal, we found it quite convenient to drop by and get a three-piece chicken strips with buffalo sauce. End of the day, it's kind of what you see is what you get at this place. Something different than KFC, and hopefully not as good as your mom used to make... Unless your mom is from Louisiana! When it's fried chicken that you want, because chicken is healthy, this is definitely an acceptable place to stop by. read more

This is a new restaurant in our area and it was time to try it out. The decor and music were something I really enjoyed. New Orleans Jazz, a rack of spices, red and yellow coloring throughout the dining, and bits of history displayed on the walls make it feel more than a "quick bite" eatery. We ordered a four piece chicken meal, biscuit, cole slaw, and onion rings. The chicken wasn't anything different than the "other" crispy fried chicken places serve. The biscuit and coke slaw were average as well. The onion rings though were battered and not breaded which sets them apart from the majority of fast food rings. If I were in the mood for fast fried chicken, a couple of sides, and a drink, Popeyes would be my go to spot. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. My first bite felt like an exploding salt bomb in my mouth! If you are at all sensitive to salt this sandwich is not for you. I must have extremely bad luck with this place of business. I pulled in to the drive-thru around 5:00 And placed my order for an 8 piece meal. The employee informed me that it would take 15 mins for the chicken to be done. Now, there are 4 cars ahead of me and 4 cars behind me. I AM STUCK !!!! I asked the employee how come there was no sign or someone outside to let customers know there is no chicken available at the moment. His reply was " there's not enough help ".
