The combo was quickly served to me. Very efficient. As my first time eating their fried chicken, it was up to my expectation. Crunchy fried chicken skin and juicy meat inside. Sufficient portion to fill up my hungry tummy. For the foods nothing to complaint about. The taste was good and not too salty like another fried chicken chain. This is easily $15-20 in NYC. Same price for the crispy, tender, and juicy Chicken Nuggets (aka Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken) with all the trimmings. The quality of every item in the box was top notch and all very delicious. What many customers ordered that interests me for the next visit was the Salt & Pepper Chicken (椒麻鸡), which was basically a huge piece of pounded chicken thigh, battered like the popcorn chicken, with a mala sauce on top. Amongst the two of us we tried the appetizers taster platter and the signature original rice noodle soup. The appetizer platter had good variety of appies from salad roll, spring roll, fried wonton and fish cake. The signature original rice noodle soup was a popular choice across many tables. It has a really nice garlic flavour to the soup and had shrimp, quail eggs, pork, and liver in the noodle soup - it was good but I noticed one of the liver was a bit red and undercooked after eating part of it. The staff apologized. Hu Tieu Hung Phat seems to have a nice variety of Vietnamese dishes so I would definitely visit again!
