Bonus that I get to switch out veggies for ones I eat. I also love their market products I can purchase additionally by local vendors. They also provide recipes for inspiration. I have been with them happily for a few years. I encourage everyone to give them a try and the best part is in supporting our own local businesses while getting the freshest and nutritious food possible.

Flocktown actually delivers to your doorstep, and allows you to "shop" your weekly share while adding local partner farm products like orchard fruits, artisan cheeses, natural meats, etc. to your card. Quality is consistent, and they are quick to respond to remedy the occasional concern. It's rare that I am missing an item or not satisfied with how something arrives. They even offer a delivery hold option for vacation weeks, allowing you to carry over those credits to add extra veggies in future weeks, or even roll over as a credit to next year's membership. We've been members for several years and will continue to be. As a working mom, having a weekly supply of fresh local produce delivered right to your door, supporting sustainable and organic based farming here in the garden state, is a win-win.

They have several food trucks with lots of different choices. They have a nice farmer's market that is nicely decorated and has plenty of items for sale. They have a great selection of pies too. Also, there is an ice cream stand next to the market opened daily, all ice cream is homemade and fresh! Their hot apple cider and cinnamon donut was a great treat! Since finding Ort Farms is not too far from us, we'll be back next year once the crops are back in season.

The farm was beautiful and well maintained. Playground was in perfect condition and even looked new! the kids definitely had so much fun. We went to their orchard and it was very organized however the PYO apples seem pricey for a small bag of $8 or $12. This was a separate purchase from the admission ticket which also included the orchard entrance and their hayride. During our visit (Sept) was also an event so they had vendors and a live band which was neat! there were enough tables/chairs fyi. We also tried their homemade icecream and I absolutely enjoyed their pumpkin patch milkshake and their special caramel apple cider slushie float which included an apple cider donut! it was so good! they also sell apple cider donuts and other homemade breads and pastries inside their well kempt shop! sure enough we had a lovely visit at their farm and would love to revisit again some day soon!

I really enjoyed getting my produce from Philly Foodworks while living in Philadelphia. I went for…read morethe subscription box and it was almost always full of a variety of perfectly ripe fruits and veggies. Once in a while I would get something that was not as fresh, but it was very rare. Philly Foodworks is unique among csa-type distributors because they have a full online grocery store you can shop from, whether you're getting a produce box or not. I was able to get almost all of my groceries each week from Philly Foodworks with their numerous options. If you shop around, you can find really affordable items as well. Subscriptions for eggs, dairy, and meat offer further discounts. In general, I ended up spending as much, or a tad less, than I would for the same items from an actual grocery store. I only ever shopped online, but I believe they also have a store front you can go to if that option is better for you. They deliver right to your doorstep for a small fee and the actual process of getting groceries/subscriptions was always a breeze. The quality of the food cannot be overstated. Once you go direct from the farm, it's hard to go back to the tasteless big-box grocery store produce. The eggs and milk were also amazing, as was the beef. Last but not least, they're a great organization with increasing access, sustainability, and regenerative farming practices at the root of everything they do.

The quality is unmatched and when I say you can taste the difference I mean. I had never tasted carrots as fresh or potato's with so much flavor. Things you don't realize when you are used to big box store imported low quality produce. It's also a huge relief to not have to worry every time there is a new listeria recall on items. This was huge for me during the cucumber and tomato's recalls two summers ago as I was pregnant and would only eat produce from Phillyfoodworks. I also appreciate the variety of other options they provide. The fresh pasta is delicious and Im a huge fan of the chicken sausages. The customer service is also great and very responsive. It's also nice to know you are supporting the community and with it receiving top notch quality items. Lastly they deliver! It is super convenient and just makes life easier.

I'm wrapping up a second year with this CSA and I'm definitely signing up for another one. I'm a…read morewhole-foods, plant based eater so a CSA that has a large share of organic fruits and vegetables for often time 60-70% of the price of a farmer's market is definitely worth it for me. If you don't eat as many vegetables as me, and it's just one person, I'd recommend the small share or you'll have a very full fridge before you're able to use everything. Also, nice little bonus for environmentalists and people who try to limit food waste, any food left over from the pick-up gets donated to the food shelter at the location where distribution is. They also have a composting bin that you can compost things from home or the parts of your produce you maybe don't want... *ahem* radish leaves *ahem*. Anyway, it's a good CSA!

This CSA is coming to a close for the year. It enjoyed the experience, but I won't be signing up…read moreagain. The produce just wan't that great. It's from Hepworth Farms in NY, which is organic. For whatever reason, the tomatoes were almost always rotten, and other produce went bad much faster than what their counterparts at Whole Foods. In fact, I saw tomatoes on sale at Whole Foods from the same exact farm, and they looked much better. Does Hepworth give the CSA the bottom of the barrel? The shares had very little variation. I frequently found myself at the supermarket buying different vegetables. Also, half shares were not truly half shares - almost every week the full share got veggies not included in the half share. Very frustrating. I cannot stress this enough, there were so many obnoxious emails! In addition to the always-late weekly update, expect non-stop emails harassing you to volunteer. If more volunteers are needed, they should require more than the 2 or 3 days stated, instead of pathetically begging everyone all the time.
