M&M cookie

I called & placed a takeout order for dinner as we're staying in the area. I did visit last year & tried other items than what I ordered this time around. This time, I ordered a chicken tender basket with 2 difference sauces, a buffalo chicken wrap (no tomato), 2 cookies and a pecan sticky bun. The prices are very reasonable & I enjoyed the atmosphere. When I called to place my order, the individual I spoke with was very friendly. Unfortunately, upon my partner getting back to our location after picking up, neither sauce I ordered was included and my partners wrap had tomato in it. The chicken tenders, fries, and onion rings were tasty & cooked well. The portions were mainly decent, I would say the buffalo chicken wrap needs a bit more chicken as it didn't really have much. Both myself & my partner found the sticky bun to be incredibly dry & the peanut butter cookie seemed dry as well. I'd definitely give this place a try if you're in the area as maybe they were just having a bad day.

This place is FANTASTIC!!! Stopped on our way back to MA from Acadia and it's an easy on and off from the highway. The menu is amazing, the service is friendly and helpful, and the food is great! They have a case of delicious looking pastries--we got the Whoopie pie which was just as good as it looked. The coffee was also great. We got a popover sandwich and a wrap and both came with delicious homemade chips. 10/10 recommend for anyone looking for good fresh food.

Iced caramel latte with the smothered popover and sausage gravy :)

Great environment and excellent customer service. Shared the smothered popover with sausage gravy with my girlfriend, it was so delicious with the Nancy House potatoes. Amazing coffee in a little quaint town

Great local cafe offering fresh foods and bakery. The cafe has a great atmosphere where all locals know each other by name. This is exactly what I often refer to a local business that offers its local and beyond fresh quality ingredients with friendly charming service. There's nothing not to like about this place. I chose a single burger. Thepatty was cooked perfectly and juicy. I am often not a burger person but will have one occasionally. Hubby had a cranberry chicken tarragon which is like a cranberry chicken salad but oh so much better. Had a bite to try and it was perfectly seasoned with tender chunks of chicken all wrapped in a soft pita like bread. The sticky bun was equally good. I had a cup of joe to go with it and it was a great tasting "bold" blend yet not too dark of a roast. Breakfast is also served here or you can just come and get s muffin and coffee/tea/latte/ bubble tea etc. ( see menu) Overall we will definitively come back to support another awesome local business.

Turkey tarragon popover

Awesome spot! Only a few minutes detour from the highway, but in retrospect, I would have driven an extra hour to eat here. Popover sandwiches are a refreshing change, the food was delicious, and the staff (and even random customers standing around) were really into the food. Great experience!

Stopped by The Grind House on my way through from Bar Harbor to Boston Logan International…read more I was excited to see an impossible breakfast sandwich on the menu as well as a peanut butter mocha. Seriously, two of my favorite things to see on a coffee house menu. That said the execution was a bit off for me. The Impossible breakfast sandwich was served on an insubstantial bun (the type that is more air than anything) and was overall pretty basic. Their signature sauce mentioned in several dishes, seems to be thousand island or maybe tartar sauce? Either way, it wasn't my favorite. The peanut butter mocha was also a bit of a miss for me. I wasn't a fan of either their chocolate or their espresso (or the peanut butter flavor they used, for that matter). The shop itself is quirky and comfortable. We were able to get a spot by the windows, which was nice and the service was lovely. It would definitely be a good and comfortable spot for working and it could be that had I ordered differently, it may have been more my cup of tea (or coffee, as they case may be). But for what I ordered, it was a bit of a swing and a miss.

Walked in and wow, lots to read on the menu! Which can be good and bad depending on how much time…read moreyou want to spend reading menus. I chose a egg and cheese on a croissant bun and a caramel turtle latte. I came here because it had been highly recommended, but I have to say, I expected more, but depends on what you like, right?? Plenty of seating, centrally located in the city, easy parking, and plenty of coffee concoctions to try out. My coffee was missing the whipped cream, but oh well. The froth for the latte was odd, it deflated super quickly, not sure what happened there. And the sweetness was sweet, but it was missing that caramel turtle flavor I thought I was going to get. For me, this was meh. I expected something more decadent. My egg sandwich was good. Basic. Not a real croissant either. It was a croissant bun of some sort. It seemed, well, basic, or economical. But it was filling and the egg was good. I also have to say that when I departed, I smelled like a convenience store that sells those hotdogs on rollers... I smelled all day, I had to wash my hair to get the smell out. I also have to mention the heavy music that was playing. It was obscene and it was loud. So loud it made it challenging to order and I did eat my meal quickly and leave. It was a Tuesday morning around 9 am. But hey I am getting older so this may not have been a good choice for me.

Unfortunately, today's experience may have changed my mind. It was busy this morning, which was great to see, but the service and management were disappointing. The owner is usually there, but today we didn't see her. I'm not sure if the woman with the dark hair and red highlights was the manager, but she was very rude to the other staff. It was uncomfortable watching her speak to employees that way and constantly boss them around. I would have walked out and left her to deal with everything alone if i was working for her today. It also seemed like the way she was running things slowed everything down. We waited over 10 minutes for our 3 coffees because staff didn't appear to be allowed to take orders or multitask efficiently. She was noticeably stressed under pressure. On top of that, she wasn't particularly friendly or welcoming to customers. I really enjoy the coffee here. The drinks are worth coming for, but the atmosphere and customer service today left a disappointing impression.
