We have been going to Sweet Cheeks Bakery as long as they have been open, and for the life of me, I have nothing bad to say about the place. I briefly kvetched about not being open later, and voila, they seemingly heard my wish and installed a pastry vending machine so that local residents could "grab an eclair at 2am." I was hoping that they would expand into breakfast items, and there they go, creating breakfast burritos and sandwiches. When I was sure I'd never find an amazing lunch spot in the area, boom, grab and go lunch sandos that rival any lunch joint in the state. I can't say enough good things about the charming and friendly counter gal, the warm, welcoming shop, the variety of delicious and gorgeous pastries and the ease of getting in and out of the location. I cannot say enough good things! What a gem!

Marble frosted glazed doughnut, and a gluten-free lemon blueberry scone.

An amazing gem in the small town of Bucksport, Maine. Egg sandwiches, and some of the most amazing baked goods we've ever seen. As someone who suffers from a gluten sensitivity, they went out of their way to accommodate my last minute request for a gluten free egg sandwich. It. Was. THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD. (Do the business a favor and call ahead if you need A gluten-free egg sandwich before coming). Is there gluten free English Muffin is unlike anything I've ever had. They have egg sandwiches and home fries in a turnstile that's ready for you as you walk in. My wife's croissant egg sandwich was not greasy at all in her words, "Perfect. Perfection" Home fries? Beautiful. I got the blueberry lemon scone (gluten free), but couldn't talk my wife into getting the bacon maple doughnut. My only regret is that we found this gem on our way out of town instead of on our way in. Although, my waist line is thanking me for that. If you find yourself in Bucksport, please make sure you stop by the Sweet Cheeks. Amazing people, and the most amazing baked goods and egg sandwiches you'll find .

Blueberry turnover, chocolate croissant, hazelnut croissant, Samoa bar, Lemon bar (All delicious of course!)

Small bakery, huge taste and hospitality! When they are closed, they have an additional little 24 hour open section to purchase their made fresh daily pastries. They are DELICIOUS. I highly recommend!

Chocolate eclair, apple bar, pecan sticky bun, caramel chocolate bar, raspberry Bismarck.

We are from Florida and happened across this little bakery on our way to Acadia National Park. The treats on display in the case were overwhelming! It was so difficult to choose because they all looked so yummy!! The whoopee pie was huge, soft, and delicious. The best part of our experience, though, was the proprietor. She was so friendly and helpful. She even wrote down some recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the area. We will definitely be back!!

The best bakery north of Boston and maybe the world!

What the literal FUC-!!!!! This is the BEST little shop of heaven you will ever go to. Visit this shop and stop at the city. You have it twisted... The cinnamon rolls have PRALINE Carmel crusted coating (not a cheap Panera sticky bun), the apple fritters are AMAZING, the chocolate croissants are a surprise with a buttery chocolate icing center. Just toured across little quant towns and there's nothing like Sweet Cheeks (little shop- could miss it if you're driving too fast). Who owns this place?! Whoever it is they will sell out daily. Go early, stand in line. Buy whatever they have left. Oh! And there's gluten free, too. Mic drop! I mean, wow!

Delicious and not super sweet! We got the coffee cake, eclair, and pecan sticky buns. All were wonderful.

In talking with the locals, everyone seems to stop in to get the muffins, pies, and specials for the day. You have to walk up or pull in the driveway and walk around the garage and that is where the door entry is located. It is a little room off their house and you take what you want and put your $$ in the pot off the honor system. No Venmo. The goodies we got where off the chart fresh and tasty. Amazing! - Whoopi pie- best ever had - blueberry & raspberry muffin- amazing - cranberry, orange and walnut muffin bread. Out of this world!

The blueberry cake is moist and full of berries. The chocolate brownies are moist and very rich. The muffins are tender and full of blueberries. We tried the banana chocolate chip bread which was fantastic. full of chocolate chips. My husband is a fan of the chocolate chip cookies. I ordered a blueberry pie for a family dinner, and everyone agreed that it was one of the best pies on the island. The filling is packed with blueberries, and the crust is tender. I like the little bit of cinnamon in the filling. She has other pie options as well. We saw, but did not try , a raspberry pie. Everything is well made, clean and well displayed. There are whoopi pies, banana bread, cookies and specials. Don't hesitate to stop by. Easy parking, which is a plus in the busy summer. Bring cash, pay on the honor system. Emmy takes great care in her creations and you will not be disappointed!

Then, you think about what life on the Island must be like in the dead of February and remember that is maybe not such a great idea. But, if you visit Mount Desert Island and are smart enough to visit the "Quietside", this place is worth a stop! I've been here each of my last three annual summer visits. You will see a large pink sign for Mansett Little Farm along the road on the way to the Seawall (a beautiful piece of Acadia National Park). You'll also see a sandwich-board sign advertising "Cookies and more". If you speed by, stop, turnaround and come back! You won't regret it! I never know what treats I might find available when I pop in, but I know there will always be something good. From the famed Whoopie Pie to raspberry bars to cookies and lemon squares - they are all so good. Oh, and the Hermit Bar - a New England specialty - SO GOOD! And - this place is totally on the honor system. Only once have I actually met a friend of the owner who was apologizing the the limited selection that day (I still got plenty). Prices are marked and a basket with cash change is there. I'm guessing it works, as this is how it's been and continues to be. Rumor has it - some of the treats are available in the local market as well. But, really, make the trek here and experience this gem! It's totally worth it!
